Chapter 60: Signs (1)

Kin Jongse went back to distant memories of the past.

The man with a hint of white hair was hastily packing things up in the middle of the night. He then was about to leave when he found Kin Jongse looking at him, then walked up to Kin Jongse and caressed his head.

[Things have changed. I… no. We will do our best to turn everything back to where it was. …You are now the head of the family. Take care of your mother.]

Kin Jongse’s eyes became teary and he looked up. It was hard to remember the face anymore, and the darkened face lowered to match Kin Jongse’s eye level.

[…If I don’t come back alive, you must forget all the memories you have in your head and live a normal life like any other person.]

Kin Jongse felt his eye swelling up with tears as he heard it. The man then spoke further with a shameful voice.

[If I knew things would turn out this way, I would have taught you everything… no, maybe it’s all for the better. Jongse, unless it is an absolute emergency, you must not show what you learned to anyone. If we don’t return, you are no more… no, nevermind. Remember, my son.]

That’s when the hand shot out a small force of qi, and the memory ended there. Kin Jongse glanced back at Chun Yeowun through the rearview mirror but he couldn’t keep himself calm.

‘What is that man?’

It had been 27 years already. Contrary to his father’s concern, no one recognized Kin Jongse’s hidden martial arts, as if everyone had forgotten all about it through time.

‘Dammit!’

He didn’t know how he should react. It was fine even when he was in Peking, which was closer to the central land, so he never thought something like this would happen in a remote city like Simyang.

‘Do I have to run?’

He would have if he had a choice, but it was impossible. There was a nano bomb inside him, and that monster would easily capture him if he tried anything funny.

Kin Jongse chewed his lips. There was only one way to solve this, which was to face it head on.

Kin Jongse stopped the car at the side of the road. There were many cars driving past them, but this area was also not as populated. Kin Jongse did not turn his head back, but asked, “…Who are you?”

If his martial artd was recognized, there was only one of two possibilities for the man’s identity. Enemy or ally. Kin Jongse was quick to gather his thoughts. He knew that there was no point in trying to lie his way out of this. The only hope he had was on what Chun Yeowun had said before.

‘Times have passed, but no Yulinian calls the cult as the ‘Great Demonic Cult’.’

Black Sky Company, or the Cult. That’s how it was called back in the day. The only ones who called it the Great Demonic Cult was themselves, the cultists. Chun Yeowun then opened the car door and spoke to him.

“Get out.”

Kin Jongse became surprised but he had to comply. He walked out of the car and went around it to stand in front of Chun Yeowun. But Kin Jongse was too afraid to look straight at Chun Yeowun. Chun Yeowun then spoke to him.

“Your kick skill. Show me everything.”

“Pardon?”

“I won’t say it twice. Do it.”

Kin Jongse frowned at the sudden order for him to use all of his skills. There weren’t many people around, but there were still cars driving by from time to time, so it was not an ideal situation.

‘What is he thinking?’

It was hard to even guess what Chun Yeowun was up to. Kin Jongse hesitated for a while, but he began showing the martial arts. He readied the stance for his kick skill, and the formation of kicks were fired into the air.

Fast and grand kicks were rapidly repeated in the air. It was a hidden martial arts that Kin Jongse couldn’t show to anyone, but he never stopped training it. He was certain that he was able to fully grasp all formations he had learned. When he finished his formation, what Chun Yeowun commented on it was unexpected.

“It is a mess.”

Chun Yeowun shook his head with a disappointed look. Kin Jongse became uncomfortable and asked back, “What do you mean?”

It was absurd that Chun Yeowun was saying something like that when he must have not learned the kick skill himself. Chun Yeowun spoke to him.

“I am not sure how you learned that formation, but why does every move show a difference in the stance? And where are the other two formations?”

‘Huh?’

Kin Jongse became shocked yet again. He actually learned this martial art when he was barely five years old, so he wasn’t actually 100% sure if he had trained it perfectly, so it was acceptable Chun Yeowun might have noticed some flaws in the movie, but knowing that there were two more formations wasn’t something to heed lightly.

“H-how did you…?”

It was then.

“Ugh!”

Chun Yeowun suddenly came up to him and snatched Kin Jongse’s wrist. And before Kin Jongse could even speak, a powerful energy began to move into him.

“Ugh!”

If he were to resist here, he was going to take severe internal damage. He had to stay still unless he had more powerful internal energy. After a powerful energy scanned through Kin Jongse, Chun Yeowun let go of the wrist and spoke.

“Why did you not learn the Pure Wise Breathing Skill? …Or should I ask, why did you stop learning it?”

‘?!’

Kin Jongse completely lost for words. He did not expect the man to know the breathing skill for the martial arts itself. Pure Wise Breathing Skill was the pair skills for the Pure Wise Kick martial arts technique itself.

“You are destroying your formation.”

It was possible to use another breathing skill to maintain the formation of the kick skill, but that was not going to bring its power to full potential. All formations were created to work along with the unique breathing skill.

Kin Jongse’s voice began to shook as he asked, “W-what are you? Who are you? How did you…”
