Chapter 42

Name:Descent of the Demon God Author:
-Sir, I think they are leaving.

-Let’s follow them. Let the blue car behind us go first, and let’s tag along slowly.

-Yes, sir.

The video showed movement with the steering wheel moving. It was then.

*BOOOOM*

With the sound of something exploding, the video bumped.

*Screeeech*

-W-what?! Aaaaargh!

The camera shook severely and the screen was sent to the right. The video then couldn’t find balance even with the break, and soon the screen was struck into the pole at the side of the street at the entrance of the medical building.

*BOOOM*

-UGH!

The sound of an airbag deploying filled the vehicle.

-Dammit!

-What happened?!

-Get out of the car!

With the car door opening, the video now showed two men walking up on the front side of the car. Two men checked the front wheel, then glanced at the black sedan moving away in the distance and shouted with rage. It was a real time video streaming to another place.

PSB Director Sang Yugeun pressed his forehead with one hand from the headache as he watched the video.

“No…”

He didn’t think they would be caught following in just a short amount of time. From the way the detectives acted in the video, it was evident that the front tires of the vehicle were rigged.

‘I purposely went down myself to show that we are being hospitable…’

Sang Yugeun tried to be friendly so they would be relieved, but it didn’t work. At least one thing was certain now.

‘At least it’s confirmed that the man is also very important to them.’

Sang Yugeun figured that there was probably a sniper waiting at the hospital for any followers. If it was the case, then they had to act fast.

‘Huh?’

That’s when Sang Yugeun saw Homicides 3rd Team Leader Yimyung focused on in the video. He was looking at something.

“Did you find any clues?”

Yimyung looked away from the video.

“N-no, sir. It’s nothing.”

“What are you… Hmm?”

The video Yimyung was looking at was showing a man in his late 30s in a blue suit, standing at the entrance and an old man with a lavishly decorated blade in his hand.

‘He is…’

Sang Yugeun frowned and looked back at Yimyung. He had lived in Simyang City for over 30 years now. There was no way he would not miss the face of Moyong Yisun, officer of the large corporation based in Simyang, and the city’s old noble family.

‘Moyong Yisun of YUN Company at the scene… hmm…’

Sang Yugeun knew very well that YUN Company was a part of the Yulin itself. It seemed like something was going to be very complicated.

‘Hmm.’

Sang Yugeun now knew why Yimyung couldn’t take his eyes off from the screen. But a detective at his duty should not be hindered by emotions. Sang Yugeun, who was going to give Yimyung a chance by showing the video, changed his mind.

“3rd Team Leader. You are ordered to be dismissed from his incident, get some good rest to recover.”

“What?!”

Yimyung was shocked. Just a moment ago, Sang Yugeun was showing him live footage of following the suspect and was asking if Yimyung could handle it, but he immediately changed his attitude. Yimyung bit his lips.

“If you are talking about that man from YUN Company… I already cut my ties off from my family…”

“I told you to stay out of this case.”

“But Director! This case is no longer only for the Special Unit!”

There was no way Yimyung ‘The Idiot’ could give up now. But Sang Yugeun shook his head and pressed down on the internal phone and spoke.

“3rd Homicides Team Yimyung is being temporarily released from his duty. He is suspended for 3 weeks. Tell security to have him restricted from entry for 3 weeks.”

Yimyung became shocked and walked over. He never expected to be suspended.

“DIRECTOR!!”

Sang Yugeun hung up the phone and replied coldly.

“Did you not hear me? You are suspended as of now. Return to your hospital.”

“Director! This is not right!!”

“I have nothing to discuss with you. Mr. Yim. Call security.”

“Ugh!”

Sang Yugeun was going to drive him out by force. Yimyung grimaced and shouted furiously to the Director.

“You can’t do this!”

“Mr. Yim!!”

The Director, as he claimed, had no plans to talk with Yimyung anymore. But there was no other way as Yimyung was officially suspended from his duty from the Director of PSB. Yimyung had to walk out before he was dragged out of the office.

When Yimyung left, Sang Yugeun sighed from his chair.

“Hmmph…”

He then reached toward his cigarette on the desk, but stopped in the middle and looked down under his desk. There was a small safe beneath.

“I have no choice.”
