Chapter 19

Name:Descent of the Demon God Author:
“Hah… hah..”

Heavy pants could be heard from the 4th Interrogation room. The man drenched with sweat was the Vice Director of the PSB, Hou Ilgyung. He was sitting down on the chair, but with an awkward look on his face. Both arms were laying low helplessly with his shoulders drooping, proving that his joints had been pulled.

‘Aaargh… that bastard… he pulled my arm!’

Hou Ilgyung cursed the one who did this to him. It seemed like his shoulder joint was pulled, but his elbow was also pulled off. He couldn’t even move without feeling severe pain.

‘How in the world did I turn into this?’

He then saw the man sitting across from him. It was Chun Yeowun on the chair with his eyes shut. He looked very calm as if he was meditating.

‘Damn bastard. Is he free from any worries because he has me as a hostage?’

Yes. That was how it turned out. He had become a hostage to Chun Yeowun and was now sitting on the chair of the PSB interrogation room even when he was the Vice Director of this compound.

‘DAMMIT!’

It was unfortunate that he revealed his rank from the beginning. He was the best hostage Chun Yeowun could have. After taking Hou Ilgyung as a hostage, Yeowun warned others not to annoy him and drove Song Wigang and the two detectives out of the room. With the special glass window shattered, both rooms were now almost the same as just one room.

‘Where are the others?!’

Hou Ilgyung glanced into the surveillance camera up on the ceiling. Without the observation room, the only place to look into both rooms from the outside was from the main camera room.

‘They should do something! And where are those bastards? Shouldn’t they be here by now?’

Hou Ilgyung became furious. According to what Song Wigang had said, the Special Tactical Force was on their way back to headquarters. Even if they were outside near the wall, it should only take 40 minutes. But there was no sign of them yet. He was in a painful situation; his arms hurt all over and he couldn’t even move because of Chun Yeowun sitting in front of him.

‘Ugh… Damn you, Chief Song. I will send you out to a remote office once I get out of this hell.’

He blamed Chief Song Wigang for bringing him back to the post after work hours. Hou Ilgyung then decided he couldn’t wait until his rescue and glanced over at Chun Yeowun. It was late at night, so he thought maybe Chun Yeowun had fallen asleep. Yeowun did not even move.

Hou Ilgyung then carefully tried to move up from the seat.

“Move one step, and I will shatter your legs so you won’t move.”

‘UGH!’

Hou Ilgyung was startled. He got up very slightly, and Chun Yeowun spoke even without opening his eyes. Hou Ilgyung then went back down on the chair. Yeowun was closing his eyes, but he seemed to be able to sense anything moving easily.

“Maybe I should’ve started with your legs from the beginning.”

‘!!!!’

Chun Yeowun mumbled annoyingly, and Hou Ilgyung lost all hope of escaping. He then thought to himself.

‘What is he doing with his eyes closed? Does he not even sleep?’

It was crazy. There was a reason why Chun Yeowun was meditating right now. He was taking time to absorb all the information he had acquired after coming to this world.

‘This is an interesting and unique world.’

Chun Yeowun was surprised by the future world that relied on electricity. Not only that, but the culture and society were very different from the world he knew before.

‘A world without the Imperial Family…’

That was what shocked Chun Yeowun the most. In his time, the presence of the Emperor was very normal. There was nothing else. But here, in the future, there was no Emperor. He found out that there were a few other foreign countries that had royal families, but they were merely symbolic figures rather than actual governmental entities. Even Chun Yeowun, who was calm and collected in most cases, was very surprised by this.

‘Maybe this is how time flows…’

Even the Nano Machine was the embodiment of unimaginable technology. The only reason why Chun Yeowun was so calm in this situation was because of Nano which was even more advanced than the time he was in.

‘Anyways, Nano. Is the information you gave me only partial?’

[Yes. The wireless internet connection was disconnected ever since we came into the PSB Headquarters. That is all the information I was able to muster.]

The time given to Nano to organize every piece of information in this vast, modern world was so short that it was only partial. The PSB did not use public internet as it would jeopardize their security. And on their way here, the Tactical Team’s bus had a radio interruption device interfered with data mining. Chun Yeowun had to take whatever Nano could salvage in the meantime.

‘Nano, I want to ask you one thing. I heard you are made hundreds of years from now. Why can’t you just send me information that you already know instead of collecting new data?’

This was what Chun Yeowun was confused about. He didn’t think Nano would be required to take in new data. Chun Yeowun would not have asked such questions before, but after taking in modern information, he learned about the existence of the computer and the internet, so he became curious.

[There are large discrepancies between the saved information and the actual information.]

‘What?’

[History, society, culture, technology… most categories show large discrepancies to the saved data. I had to process it to analyze and discern it.]

Chun Yeowun couldn’t understand what Nano was saying. This meant that this world was different from what Nano was knowledgeable about. Chun Yeowun frowned with his eyes closed.

‘How can that happen?’

Nano then came up with a fact that was close to the truth.

[It is likely that we have arrived in a different axis of time.]
