Chapter 7

Name:Descent of the Demon God Author:
Wiyang, the 2nd Tactical Force Squad Leader of Simyang City’s PSB became tense as he was being dispatched to the location where the mysterious flying object had landed from the sky. There was no Gate Public Warning announced yet, but if something came out of it already, it was probably a very dangerous situation.

‘Why wasn’t it detected by radar, or the defense system by the Gate Wall?’

Unless the flying object had way to stealth itself, it should’ve activated the anti-aircraft missile defense system and the anti-air missiles should’ve flown out. But those were not deployed. It seemed like the object truly just popped out of thin air and dropped. As the tactical forces armed themselves and began moving via bus, another information report came in.

“What? It’s a human?”

That was unexpected information to say the least. Wiyang was dumbfounded as he was relieved that it wasn’t what he had expected: a dangerous entity from the Gate. Then came another question.

“Wait… then a human just appeared and dropped from the sky?”

“Y-yes, sir. It seems to be so.”

There was no way his team members would know any more than that since they just received the news through the radio too. However, the scenario wasn’t all that impossible either.

‘Then it must be either Gatekeeper, or a Yulinian…’

It was dangerous to drop from such height even for Gatekeepers or Yulinians, but few very highly skilled individuals from those groups sometimes showed superhuman abilities that awed most normal people.

‘But a Gatekeeper would have sent a request to the PSB for an Activity Permit prior to making any fuss. They don’t do this out in public like this.’

If then, the answer could then be narrowed down to a Yulinian. But another question arose: since Yulinians were also registered with their identities, it would deter them from doing things that would draw the attention of the general public.

‘Well, I’ll know once I get there. There are always Yulinians who are dying to run rampant and draw attention.’

It wasn’t hard to find the location of the incident. There were police cars from nearby PSB stations and crowds of onlookers. Wiyang, an experienced squad leader, sent snipers to nearby buildings in the perimeter first and took out a mechanical binocular from the distance to take a look at the situation.

He was over 300 meters away, but it allowed him to see clearly on what was going on.

“Huh? What’s with that crazy bastard?”

“Whoa. He sure is crazy.”

Wiyang suspected a Yulinian, but the man was also dressed like a man of Yulin from one of those old, medieval movies. The young man with long black hair and medieval clothing through the binoculars flashed on the tablet screen. Lieutenant Sopyung held the tablet while standing next to Wiyang.

“Check his identity with the face.”

“Yes, sir.”

Sopyung tapped on the tablet a few times and popped open the identity searcher program. He then dragged the young man’s face to search through the data. The program began processing and started matching through all faces in the database.

The screen flickered quickly, scanning through all the faces very quickly on screen, and soon, the result was displayed. Sopyung, the Lieutenant of tactical team, frowned and showed the tablet to Squad Leader Wiyang.

“Unidentified?”

It was an unexpected result. They had searched through the Chinese Government Identification network, but nothing showed up. It should have at least shown basic information about the person, but it was blank.

“What’s going on?”

There were only two answers to this. One was that the person was unregistered, or he had changed his face with surgery or some special skills.

“Dammit. Then we have no choice.”

It seemed like it was necessary to arrest the man alive and try different methods such as a retina scan or blood testing to truly identify the man. That’s when Wiyang heard the radio through his wireless earbud.

-A1, in position on the 6th floor of Sangmyung Plaza.

-A2, in position on the roof of Yunwon Apartment.

-A3, in position…

The radio signaled all snipers of the tactical forces were in position and ready to fire with the order. With the snipers in position, all that was left was to send the tactical forces out and surround the target. Wiyang then pressed the earbud in his ear and spoke out loud.

“There are a lot of civilians around, so be careful. Turn on your laser point and standby.”

-Roger that.

Wiyang then hand signaled to his tactical force members to begin moving out toward the target. It was then—

-This is B4! 3rd Team leader of the Homicides Dept has been captured as a hostage!

Wiyang scowled at the report.

“3rd team leader?! That’s Yimyung! What’s that idiot doing?!”

There was no time to be surprised. If the PSB agent was being held as a hostage, then it was necessary to put pressure on the target so that the enemy would not do any rash move or run away. The reason for the laser points on the sniper rifles was for this.

“All snipers, aim the lasers at our target right now.”

-Roger that.

With the order, all red laser dot points were immediately aimed at the young man with old-fashioned clothes. As that was going on, the tactical forces who were originally planning to move in covertly changed their plan and quickly moved through the crowds to create a barricade around the target. Wiyang shouted loudly once it was done.

“Stay still! You are surrounded!”

“Whoaaaaa!”

“It’s the PSB Tactical Forces!”

With over 40 Tactical Force members appearing at the scene, citizens shouted with cheers of joy. In their position, the weird young man dressed in medieval clothing who just snapped the police officer’s arm was a dangerous criminal that needed to be taken in.

“Ugh… If you let go of me now, I will ensure your safety.”

Yimyung, the 3rd team leader of PSB Homicides Department proposed to Chun Yeowun, who was still grabbing him by the neck. The tide had turned. Chun Yeowun was now being aimed by many snipers around the perimeter. There was no way this was going to go wrong for Yimyung now.

“It’s better for you to let go of my neck fast…”

“You seem to be relieved?”

“What?”

*move*

“UGH!”

Yimyung’s face immediately turned pale again. He was certain that even a Yulinian had no way but to give up with all these snipers aiming at him, and tens of tactical force agents were barricading the area. But Yeowun did not seem to care at all and he instead placed the pure white colored blade on Yimyung’s neck.

“W-what are you doing!? …Do you really want to die?!”

Yimyung became so shocked that he even stuttered while trying to speak. But Yeowun didn’t seem to care at all and looked around.

‘Hah! So he really doesn’t care about dying?!’

Even the 2nd Squad Leader of Tactical Force, Wiyang, became dumbfounded. There were no blindspots for the snipers; one bullet was enough to kill the target, but the target was threatening them even harder.

‘Is he trying to force his way out?’

There were some instances where criminals tried to fight back against the threat by acting stronger, but Wiyang had many experiences in dealing with such situations.

‘Threatening a PSB agent… he’s asking for trouble’
