Chapter 186 186 – The Sweet Sound

I climbed onto something that looked like a bullet cut in half vertically but much bigger and slimmer. As I gripped the handlebars, I held my breath.

A fucking flying bike that uses magic. I never expected to make toys like this in a fantasy world.

"We can start anytime, Your Majesty." Nate is standing a little further away from me. "Just push the button on the right handlebars .... And you better use full armor."

I frowned. "Why? Is this thing going to explode?"

Nate took a few more steps back. "Maybe."

I looked around at the spacious room we were in. There's no one else but the two of us.

So, was this the reason he asked for this large private room?

"Okay, then." I concentrated on the metal bracelet in my right hand. The bracelet didn't take long to emit a red light that enveloped my body.

And that light solidified, then turned into a dark gray armor.

"It was incredible." Nate smiled faintly, something he rarely shows. I had thought he was a shapeshifter in default mode. "Miss Ayre is a genius."

"Well, it's my first time trying it too." I checked the bright red trim on my costume. "Ayre was busy forming a police force, just left this bracelet with a note asking me to try it. And when I was about to try it, you called me to test the bike instead."

"Is that the main project armor from miss Ayre?"

"No." I shook my head, gripping the handlebars again. "That project is not finished yet but has entered the final stage. Ayre just needs to add a few details."

"That ragmonuk metal is extraordinary, on par with Mythril in transmitting magic energy, but stronger, although slightly heavier. I was greatly helped by that while building this baby."

"Yeah, I agree." I pressed a button on the right handlebar, making the bike vibrate, and the rear end made a sound.

Damn. I've never heard of a vehicle being able to sound as loud as this. However, the resemblance of that sound to the motorbikes in my world was minuscule.

It's like the roar of a raging beast rather than coming from a machine.

"You're a genius too, Nate." I looked back and saw black smoke coming from the four exhausts. "This thing is so cool."

And I mean it. This thing uses activating magic from the demon chariot that dates back hundreds of years. Records of that magic have also been lost.

However, this man managed to reverse-engineer that thing and implement it on a flying bike.

I pulled the bike throttle to make the roar louder. "Nate, I'll give you a bonus…."

It turned out that Nate had gotten further away and was now standing in the corner of the room.

"How dangerous is this thing?" I frowned at the scientist's absurd antics. "I can't find any sign of..."

My words were cut off because the bike suddenly turned off by itself and emitted black smoke. I wouldn't worry too much if those things came out of the rear exhausts.

Unfortunately, smoke was coming out of every gap on this thing.

"At least this thing doesn't explode." Nate coughed, then ran for the front door. "It still needs some adjustments, my lord. If you don't mind, can I request some new shapeshifters?"

"No problem." I looked up at the rising black smoke. Because my helmet has a special system, I'm not affected by those.

Apparently, I still have to wait before I can fly again.

"We have to clear this place from the smoke first. You better get out, my lord." Nate opened the door, still coughing. "After this, I will continue this project. However, I don't know when we'll be able to do the test again."

"It's okay." Just as I was jumping down, I got a call from one of the Phisovia caretakers.

My heartbeat rate suddenly increased. Has the thing I've been waiting for finally happened?

I pressed the call icon, keeping my expectations in check. I don't want to be too disappointed if this call is not about what was expected.

I hurriedly opened the door of the red-haired woman's room. And all of a sudden, I froze, my breathing became heavy, and my eyes started to feel hot with tears.

Phisovia was still in bed, but this time sitting up and opening her eyes instead of lying weak. She gave me a soft smile.

"Phisovia." I staggered, walking to her.

She motioned for the other succubi to come out. Then, after her comrades were gone, she said in a hoarse voice. "I heard. I've been unconscious for a long time, huh?"

"Yes, too long." I stopped near her bed, holding her hand, which was just skin and bones. "You missed a lot, Phisovia. You will be surprised by the progress we have made…."

A single tear on my cheek forced me to pause.

"Ah, I made you sad." She wiped my tears, even though her hands were shaking and weak. "Forgive me."

"It's not your fault…." I fell silent again. There were so many things I wanted to say to her, but my tongue suddenly felt numb, making me unable to speak any further.

So, I chose to hug her frail body instead.

"I don't want you to be sad, my lord." She sobbed while rubbing my back. "I'm already here."

"I know." I sighed, feeling the warmth from her body.

"And thanks for giving me a chance to live…."

I desperately held back my tears.

"Ah, it feels like just yesterday I was bitten by a dragon, and when I suddenly wake up, my body is skinny like this." A bitter chuckle escaped from the red-haired woman's mouth.

We let go of our hug, then widened a smile while exchanging glances.

Looks like we don't need to say anything anymore. We already know each other's feelings.

We chose to bring our lips closer to each other. My heart felt immense relief when I tasted her lips.

Even though these lips are a bit drier than I last remembered, I know the texture and movement very well. The movement of her tongue in my mouth also awakens my memory.

The sweet memory.

This is really Phisovia, my first woman." She is with me again.
