Chapter 232 - 232 Hugs

232 Hugs

With a quick flap of her wings, Vera slowed down and gently landed on the ground, letting the little demoness jump out of her hands and leaped towards the jet-black humanoid demon standing a couple of meters away from her.

“Brother!” Cyra shouted as she jumped right into Blake’s arms.

“I’m sorry for suddenly leaving you here alone, Cyra.” Blake rubbed the little demoness’ back, letting her rest her head on his chest. The feeling certainly felt familiar to what he just felt a few hours ago, but there was not a single tear fell on his chest as the little demoness giggled and happily snuggled on him.

“You’re not lonely, aren’t you?” Blake asked the little demoness who seemed to not have a single problem being suddenly left behind.

“Not, really, sister Vera played with me while you’re gone!” Cyra then pointed her finger toward the beautiful demoness standing a few steps away from the two of them.

Blake’s eyes followed after Cyra’s finger and soon his eyes met with the demoness’ mesmerizing eyes.

“Vera…” It had been quite a while since the two of them met each other. And the last few moments where she just left him on his own did leave a strong impression on Blake’s heart. But he knew that all that she did was the best for him, despite it hurting him a little to be suddenly being ditched away.

And even with that being said, he knew that wanted to be together with her. “I know I haven’t evolved yet, but I only need to complete a couple of things to finish it, I have already eaten enough souls… So please can you not leave me ag-”

“Come here, Blake.” Vera’s words cut Blake off as she spread her arms out.

.....

Without thinking about anything else, not even the little demoness that was staying comfortably in his arms, Blake began to walk forward unconsciously closer to her.

“Aaa~” Cyra felt her balance thrown off as Blake suddenly walked forward without moving her out of the way first. And seeing her brother and the kind sister that had played with her for the past few hours were about to go in for a hug, Cyra quickly repositioned her posture herself and was about to join the two of them.

Unfortunately, Robus quickly came to the rescue and gently pinched the little demoness away from the two demons about to have their moment.

“Uncle! I want to join them too!” Cyra complained as she flailed her limbs in mid-air.

“W…wait… You can join them later…” Robus told her as he brought the little demoness to her favorite spot on him, which was his somewhat fluffy, fur-coated wide back to sit on.

With the little demoness being put out of the way, there was nothing in the way of the two humanoid demons as Blake entered Vera’s arms and rested his head on her shoulder.

“You worked really hard this past week, didn’t you?” Vera rubbed the back of Blake’s head. Despite him being taller than her, Vera could still reach out to the back of his head that made her shoulder as its support.

“Don’t worry, that little girl told me a lot of things. You’ve learned a lot. I will not leave you on your own again, my dear little student.” Vera continued caressing Blake’s head, letting him do nothing and just rest comfortably while feeling the gentle touch on the back of his body.

After Blake took a last deep breath to regain his strength and conviction, he stared at Vera’s eyes and said, “I will finish my evolution as soon as possible and descend the realm.”

“You could go into other worlds from the second realm, right, Vera?”

Noticing the change in Blake’s tone and the sharpness in his eyes, Vera had several questions about what he just went through when he just suddenly disappeared, but she kept her questions to herself first and answered his question first.

“Yes. There are portals that lead to other worlds starting from the second realm. In fact, the demons in the second realm mostly gained their strength from joining wars in those worlds instead of fighting and hunting each other for souls.”

“Can we open a portal to a designated world?”

“Unless you know the exact coordinates of a world or someone in that world has made a connection with us, then it would be impossible to go to a certain world.”

“So that means that if I want to search for an exact world, I can only try every portal there?”

“Yes. And if there’s not an established gateway in the world you’re searching for, then it would be impossible to go directly into that world.”

As if already understanding where Blake was going with his questions, Vera added, “But don’t worry, you said that your world was connected to another world that was currently at war with demons, right? You can just go to that world first. There must be an established portal to a world that a demon was trying to conquer.”

‘But the system could teleport me directly to my world… How could it do that?’ Blake began thinking to himself as he recalled the black portal that carried him through a dark empty void to go and return from the human world.

‘Hmm… Considering I have been living there for more than a decade, the system must have known the exact coordinates of that world, it made sense…’

Hearing her answers, Blake nodded his head in understanding as a very rough plan began to form in his mind. But then, his next question really made a huge question mark appear on Vera’s head.

“Vera, do you know how I can turn a human into a demon? Or at least a half demon or something similar so that they could live here in the demon realm without receiving the backlash of a rich nether environment?”

It did make her question what really happened to him, or what he learned to suddenly have these kinds of thoughts appear on the top of his mind, but Vera once again, let him finish his curiosities first before she asked him to satisfy hers.

“Well, you could turn any human to a demon if they were exposed to nether long enough, but they would usually go berserk without the ability to keep their reasonings.”

Blake was about to utter more questions, but Vera stopped him first.

“However, there were rituals to make the process more controlled, letting nether seep into the human’s body evenly, letting them adapt to the changes that the nether made in their body, making them to still be able to keep their mind and physical capabilities, sometimes even enhancing them,” Vera said as he tilted her head and looked up as if she was trying to recall a specific memory.

“A lot of demons do that to those so-called ‘heroes’ in the worlds they are trying to conquer. Getting a new powerful minion was never a bad move for them to do,”

Blake folded his right hand on his chest while his left hand held his chin, supporting his head that was trying to process the things that he just learned. “So, essentially, injecting nether to a human’s body was enough to turn them into a demon?”

“Yup. That’s as simple as it gets.”

“Alright thanks, Vera.”

“Now, let’s quickly finish this evolution que-”

*thwack*

“Ouch! That stings! Why would you flick my forehead?”

Hearing his question, Vera raised her eyebrows and glared at him as she threatened Blake with another flick of her fingers.

“You dare leave me hanging after you satisfied your needs? What about mine? I am not finished yet!”

“W…What do you mean??” Blake quickly did a double take as he tried to process what he just heard.

“You still haven’t told me about what happened to you! Where did you go when you suddenly disappeared just like that? Don’t you know how worried I was when I saw the bracelet I gave my dear student just laid on the ground without him being in sight!?”

“And now you’ve suddenly got a new little sister that somehow had a very similar ability to the fire variant that we met some time ago, and you even leave her all alone crying out your name nonstop before I arrive here!”

“Young man, you have a lot of explaining to do!”

“That... I… Ummm…” Blake had run out of words to say as he didn’t even know where to start.

Fortunately for him, the little demoness that had actually cried when he left her didn’t hold any grudge against him and came to his rescue.

“Let’s hug again!!!” With Robus’ go-ahead to go down from his back, Cyra straight up jumped in between the two humanoid demons, spreading her arms as she latched them onto Blake’s and Vera’s bodies respectively, forcing the two of them into a three-way hug with the cheery little demoness.
