Chapter 213 - 213 Sneaking Inside (1)

213 Sneaking Inside (1)

Blake circled around the fence that encased the orphanage building. Straying away from the front gate, Blake went to the back of the orphanage where most of the kids were playing with each other.

There were no restrictions on going out of the orphanage for the kids, but the smaller kids that needed more attention were not allowed to go out of the orphanage area without being accompanied by a caretaker. And with so many of them and no real reason for the caretakers to take them out, most of the smaller kids played in the backyard of the orphanage.

Blake also walked past the backyard as it would also be exposing himself if he were to go in through where many kids would see him. Instead, Blake walked more to the other side, where the garden of common vegetables like chili and parsley was grown.

By growing them, the orphanage could save a small amount of money and give the cooking more taste as spiciness really made a dish several times better without actually putting in too much seasoning in it.

The garden was more often than not empty as the smaller kids were prohibited from going there to prevent them from accidentally knocking over and breaking the plant while the older ones didn’t have any reasons to go there when they could just go out if they were bored in the orphanage.

The plants in the garden were watered in the morning and if they needed some to cook, they would also get it in the morning. The evening was the perfect time for Blake to infiltrate through there without getting noticed by people.

Arriving in front of the fence where the garden hid behind it, Blake made a quick mental note about the route that he would take to go inside the orphanage without getting noticed by anyone, and when it was still in the early evening where most of the residents were still out as it wasn’t curfew yet, this task should not be too difficult.

“Alright then, let’s jump ins-” Blake was about to jump inside the garden with Robus still on his healthy right shoulder, but he stopped midway.

“No, wait, Robus, can you help me put this back first?” Blake pointed at his dislocated left shoulder. His body seemed to have become tougher than ordinary humans and had higher regenerative capabilities, evident from him feeling the dislocated joint moving very slowly yet at a noticeable pace, going back to the socket where it was supposed to sit.

.....

“Rr?” Robus might have some knowledge about the basic anatomy of a creature. But that knowledge was mostly used so that he would be able to deal the most damage to his enemies. From attacking certain joints to incapacitate his enemies to straight up breaking their ribs intentionally to hurt their lungs, Robus’ knowledge only extended to how hurt his enemies the most. He didn’t have any capabilities to make someone better instead of getting them wounded.

“Hmmm… I think you could just pop them back in? But don’t go too hard. It might dislocate the other way instead if you use your full strength.” It would be hard for Blake to position his own arms to fix his own dislocated shoulders hence why he asked for Robus’ help. But he did not forget to remind the huge gorilla now turned small monkey to keep his enormous strength in moderation.

“r.” Giving the confirmation that he would try, Robus climbed down from Blake’s shoulder before telling him to sit down so that Robus could easily reach his left shoulder.

Robus then positioned his not-so-small monkey hands to both the front side and the back side of Blake’s left shoulder, feeling where the joint was supposed to be as he made sure to keep his hands pressured in that area to prevent the joint dislocating to the other way.

“Can you count to three before you st-”

“OUCH!”

Without even letting Blake finish his words, Robus pushed his hand together, squeezing Blake’s shoulder together from both sides with moderate strength. Making the shoulder pop back into its place and making sure it didn’t go past the joint once again.

“Thank you.” Blake smiled bitterly as he rotated his working left arm. There was still a slight pain in his joint, but it was negligible enough that Blake believed it would be gone in just minutes now that the joint had returned to its place.

“Can you help check if there was anyone inside ?” With his dislocated shoulder fixed, Blake went ahead with his earlier plans as soon as possible since it would be harder to go inside the building unnoticed if it was already curfew and the people had gone back to the orphanage.

“r.” Robus was then raised by Blake holding his small body upward. It was an unusual feeling for Robus to have his whole body raised and moved freely as if he was a small rabbit that he could simply pinch to catch, but he ignored the unusual feeling and instead held onto the top part of the fence, peeking his eyes inside it.

Lines of potted plants filled his gaze. A few lines were filled with plants that had tiny red-colored fruit hanging on their non-woody, weak-looking branches. Robus focused on the unique plant and fruit that he had never seen before for a few seconds and then scanned his surroundings.

Just like what Blake had said, there was nothing inside the garden other than plants. A closed gate stood on the side of the garden, probably to make sure none of the smaller kids wandered there and walked inside without supervision.

“rr.”

“Okay!” With Robus’ confirmation, Blake put Robus back onto his shoulder before kicking his feet against the ground with about three-quarters of his full strength.

The 5 meters tall wall was easily jumped over as Blake’s increased physique stat really gave him the boost he needed to jump that high. Which was not really that high when compared to Robus’ ability to jump tens of meters vertically with ease.

Then equipped with his perfect memory about the ins and outs of the place, Blake quickly and sneakily navigated out of the garden and went inside the orphanage building.

His goal was none other than the usual room where he and the other kids slept to find his dear old bed.
