Chapter 196 - 196 Disparate Viewpoint (Scrawny)

196 Disparate Viewpoint (Scrawny)

The dark flames that caused excruciating pain to spread all over his body, yet also the key to his survival, had now covered most parts of his body, with his head being the guaranteed protected part since the muscular humanoid demon had converted more of his nether to coat his head once again, preventing the dark flames from spreading over to his head.

His head had several visible scars on them due to it having collided directly with the dark flame bullet, but also the least damaged due to the concentration of white light that works fairly well against the dark flame, weakening it to a great extent.

The muscular humanoid demon’s body had minute twitching as even the strongest of the humanoid demon that came up from the deeper realms couldn’t even shrug off the pain of having his body eaten and burned alive by such a vicious flame that eats upon everything that it touches.

However, the muscular humanoid demon grit his teeth and squeezed his muscles as tight as possible, making sure that no sound came out of his mouth or his body before the time was right.

And with the dark flame’s greedy eating ability, the moment that the muscular humanoid demon was waiting for finally came without him having to hold down his suffering for too long.

The gripping sensation that restricted the muscular humanoid demon’s body movement disappeared one after the other as more and more parts of his body felt the blissfulness of freedom despite the excruciating pain that he felt as more and more of the darkness tendrils had been eaten by the dark flame.

Soon, none of the darkness tendrils were left, and the moment that the muscular humanoid demon was waiting for finally came, carrying a huge hope and momentum for him to act on.

Adjusting his body so that it would be able to jump out of the slightly cramped hole that the initial attack had created for him, the muscular humanoid demon had caused some noise from the middle of the hole, which was more than enough for him to catch the jet-black humanoid demon’s attention.

However, knowing that the dust cloud that covered the area was on his side, the muscular humanoid demon refused to care for that small noise that he made as he went into the best position possible to jump out of the hole.

.....

With his upper limbs to the side of his body and his lower limbs having a proper ground that he could transfer his power to, the muscular humanoid wasted no time kicking his feet as hard as he could, his eyes already locked onto the figure that had peeked over inside the hole, which was none other than the jet-black humanoid demon.

Due to the size of the hole being smaller than his muscular body, when the muscular humanoid demon brutally forced his body out of it, the dark earth construct that had taken a significant beating to its durability due to taking the dark flame bullet head-on, finally crumbled after receiving yet another powerful attack at its weak points.

The speed of the muscular humanoid demon significantly slowed down as most of the momentum gained from his feet kicking against the ground was absorbed by the dark earth wall that he had just destroyed.

But his strength was on another level, and a full-powered kick was definitely more than enough to jump out of a hole that was only a few meters deep albeit his speed and momentum had been significantly lessened.

And as if knowing that such a thing would happen and he would still succeed in reaching the ground right outside the mouth of the hole, the muscular humanoid demon had prepared to launch his fist towards the peering jet-black humanoid demon.

Then by the time his body appeared right in front of the jet-black humanoid demon, the muscular humanoid demon tried his best to transfer the remaining momentum that followed his flying body, swinging his fist upward straight on the jet-black humanoid demon’s chin, resulting in the latter being knocked up to the sky, flying backward like a ragdoll, his limbs limp on his side.

Noticing that there was yet another enemy right beside the jet-black humanoid demon, the muscular humanoid demon rotated his hips, sweeping his foot to chop the human fireball variant from its side.

However, an explosion that came out of nowhere happened again right in front of him, spreading even more dark flame to the muscular humanoid demon’s still burning body while also getting the variant out of his way, saving it from his attack.

‘I can’t force this…’ The thought crossed the muscular humanoid demon’s mind as the dark flame that he had forcefully tried to ignore eating parts of his body took more bites, reminding him that he would slowly but surely be eaten whole if he didn’t do anything to it.

So without a shred of hesitation, the muscular humanoid demon poured in more of his nether to his bloodline power, pulling in nether from his already dwindling amount of nether, using the last of his bloodline power to out the flames that ravaged his body while at the same time, his feet made their way towards the edge of the base.

Even though his wounds couldn’t be said to be superficial, even the complete opposite of superficial with some parts of his bones already showing, the muscular humanoid demon’s high physique stat wasn’t only for show.

The strength of his feet was still enough for the muscular humanoid demon to be able to run fast enough to turn his whole body to a blur from other people’s perspective, darting as fast as he could towards the wall of the base.

His hands had been coated with the white light again, patting the parts of his body that still had live dark flames on them. It was agonizingly painful for the muscular humanoid demon to do that now as the dark flame had eaten deep enough into his body. But he could only grit his teeth and forced his hands to pat the flames to erase them from existence.

By the time his eyes landed on the tall wall of the second base that had stood stall despite the chaos and destruction that happened inside, the muscular humanoid demon took several more steps to lessen the gap even more between him and the wall before putting strength in his feet and kicked off the ground with his full strength.

As it was easy for him to get out of the hole that Blake had put himself in even though his body’s speed and momentum had been impeded by destroying the sturdy dark earth construct in his body’s way, it was easy for the muscular humanoid demon to jump over the wall that was slightly taller than the huge gorilla demonic beast that had exchanged fist with him a few moments ago.

And with no one catching up to him and trying to stop him, the muscular humanoid demon had successfully escaped from his predicament, leaving the trio inside the base while the ground beneath his feet constantly trembled due to an unknown cause that he did not have the luxury to learn about.

His body was in a badly wounded state, let alone caring for a reason he felt the ground beneath his feet trembled, the only thing on his mind right now was to get as far away as possible from the trio that had caught him in their trap and save his own life.

Some distance above the sky, unknown and unseen by everyone, not the muscular humanoid demon, not Blake and his group, and not even the horde of demons that had been following his tail for quite some time before, a scrawny humanoid demon that had all kinds of rune formations glued to his body in the forms of rings, bracelets, and necklaces, was currently floating still in the sky, observing everything that was happening down below.

One of the necklaces glowed, enhancing his eyesight to be able to see the grounds below him clearly despite the absurd amount of distance.

After making sure the horde was moving in the right direction, the scrawny humanoid demon was planning on getting himself into a strategic position, waiting for the perfect moment to sweep in and pluck the fruit of his efforts.

However, a sudden feeling that one of his skin had once again died mysteriously in their own base had been delivered to him, causing the scrawny humanoid demon to abandon his earlier plan and change to a complete observer mode to learn what had actually happened to them in the forest base.

‘Did that arrogant brute actually kill one of us?’ This question appeared in the scrawny humanoid demon’s head, causing him to think whether his original plan would even work at all if the muscular humanoid demon didn’t seem to be someone that he thought he was.

‘No. Even though he got his head high up in the clouds, he wouldn’t do something like this. He would be too faithful to the others that had trusted him to do this mission to be able to do something like that without anything extreme happening.’

‘And considering that mage’s careful and cunning nature hiding behind his submissive mask, that mage would not do something that would cause that brute to kill him.’

A conclusion was soon made in the scrawny humanoid demon’s mind, but it only raised another question about what had actually happened, hence the reason he was carefully observing the scenes that were happening below.

He didn’t know what had happened, but by the time he had arrived, the muscular humanoid demon was already running on his feet, away from the base as fast as he could.

He had arduously set up the scenes, even bringing the horde of demons to set up the perfect moment that he was waiting for.

But seeing the muscular humanoid demon had run away with his tucked tail between his legs, running as fast as possible without turning his head backward at all, which was a speed that the scrawny humanoid demon could not keep up with even if he used his wings, the scrawny humanoid demon could only sigh as his laborious effort had became wasted.

‘If I had known he would be on his dying legs when I arrived here, I would not observe from this far away, I could just sweep in and finish the job. Though the horde would be wasted, I could still finish my goal nonetheless…’

Shaking his head and releasing yet another sigh, the scrawny humanoid demon decided to float still and observe what would happen below, staring at the two demons that were still inside the forest base, seemingly healthy and unwounded.

‘Were they the ones who had pushed that brute to that badly wounded state?’
