170 Inside The Center Building (1)

It still took Blake quite a while, but he eventually arrived back into the middle of the humanoid demons’ base faster than before now that he had learned how to pseudo-fly using his current wings and the explosions of the dark flame that could propel his body wherever he wanted.

Just as he had instructed Cyra, the two of them, Cyra and Robus, destroyed everything in the humanoid demon’s base, killing many humanoid demons and taking their souls.

There were literally hundreds of humanoid demons in the base, which means there would be even more souls for the group to take. And considering one humanoid demon usually not only gave one single soul worth of souls, the group could literally get twice the amount of souls from the initial hundreds of humanoid demons.

Robus got his fill, and Cyra also got a lot since she was definitely the one who had killed the most humanoid demons in the base, but with the number of humanoid demons could simply be described as very abundant, Blake had also gotten enough souls on his way back from the forest to not only level up but also reached halfway towards the next level, which means that he was only 2 levels away from finally evolving.

The scenery all around the base was either a half-destroyed burning building or a half-standing remains of a building that had huge gaping holes in their bodies.

That fact was true for almost all parts of the base. All except for one place, and that was the building right in the middle of the base, the place where the flying humanoid demon was supposed to live.

Blake was clueless about the humanoid demon that came from the deeper realms and was able to achieve feats that he didn’t know were possible like holding onto a spell while casting another one, essentially enabling the caster to cast or manifest 4 spells at the same time.

Something that Blake was unable to do unless he learned to do the same thing as the flying humanoid demon or either learn how to draw runes using his feet, which was a very difficult task on its own, let alone doing it while his mind also had to focus on his hands.

And the only person that Blake knew that knew anything about the humanoid demons that came from the deeper realm was currently on her own investigation, going to god knows where, and Blake couldn’t reach out to her either without using the bracelet she gave him to essentially call her over.

Which Blake didn’t want to do since it would defeat the purpose of him training himself and making himself more powerful if he were to ask Vera for anything that he wanted to know.

And after the event with the humanoid demon’s base and the flying humanoid demon, Blake had learned even more about how important it was for him to learn stuff on his own lest he wanted to make dumb yet fatal mistakes such as underestimating his enemies and overestimating himself again.

Blake would only use the bracelet to call Vera over if everything he tried to do had failed and he was on the brink of death, just like what would happen if Cyra didn’t come in at the last second and save his ass back when he and Robus were surrounded by the mass of humanoid demons.

Hence why now, Blake wanted to learn more about the humanoid demons himself as he couldn’t get answers from Vera.

Blake then told Robus to watch out for any kinds of intruders or anyone who wanted to find problems with them, if there were even any after what the trio had done to the base before telling Cyra to retract her flames back to her body and accompany him inside the building in the middle of the base.

Without prior knowledge of anything, Blake didn’t have any expectations about what his eyes would see nor what kind of information he would get from entering the building.

Different from the other buildings that were fully made out of wood, the building that Blake and Cyra entered was made from a combination of wood and black stones that Blake couldn’t find anywhere around the base except for the large towers on the wall that were fully made out of them.

He didn’t know what those towers would be used for, but from the black stone that was in the building, he knew that the black stones seemed to have stored a little bit of nether inside it, and also being much stronger than normal stones, evident from the dull sound that it made when Blake knocked his hand onto it.

‘Have a higher nether compared to the original stones and stronger, tougher than the other stones... Seems familiar to the dark earth constructs...’ Blake thought to himself as he saw those stones.

Although the building in the middle of the base could be said to be significantly bigger than the other buildings inside the base, it wasn’t actually that huge. Even calling it a mansion would be an exaggeration.

The furniture inside the building was basic furniture such as tables with decorations on them, be it potted plants or a wood carving of a demonic beast. And even though there were no lights, lamps, or any device that emitted light, the many windows around and the ever-shining red sun in the sky were more than enough to light up the building.

And Blake and Cyra had arrived inside the main room that was located in the middle of the building after only a short walk down a hall.

However, out of a few things that he did expect to find, Blake didn’t expect to see a large map plastered on the wall of the main room of the building, having castle-like drawings on certain parts of a large land that he assumed to be the main continent of the first demon realm.

And just with a quick observation of the map, it wouldn’t have taken a genius to guess that those castles-like drawings on the land of the main continent probably meant the base of the humanoid demons.

And yes, there was more than one castle. Which probably means that there were even more humanoid demons that came from the deeper realm to the first demon realm, enslaving the native humanoid demons to do their bidding.

Blake scanned the wall-sized map, noticing the blue paint that represented the ocean surrounding the main continent which was painted with a combination of brown and green.

On the large map, there were several castle-like drawings on the map of the main continent of the first demon realm. There 5 castles, one to the north, one to the south, two on respectively the east and west side of the continent, and one last castle was located about in the middle of the main continent.

Of course, without actually knowing what those castles represent, the best that Blake could do was to guess what they were.

And from the assessments that he made after seeing the blue paint of the ocean, the castle drawing near the ocean, and a ship drawing on the intersection of the sea and the main continent, Blake’s assumption about him being inside the castle that was on the west side of the main continent to be at least 90% correct.

‘There are 4 other humanoid demon bases like this in the main continent...’

‘And all five of them probably had at least one humanoid demon from the deeper realms staying inside them and making the local humanoid demons sign the slave contract to work for them.’

Blake then recalled the direction of where the flying humanoid demon was flying to earlier.

Although using the sun to determine which direction someone was going was not possible since the red sun never moved from its place and it seemingly always appeared right on top of someone’s head, Blake was still able to approximate the direction by using the base and the ship building area as a landmark to determine the direction the flying humanoid demon was flying to.

Tracing his finger in the air and following the drawing of the large map on the wall, Blake found out that the flying humanoid demon was flying in the direction of another humanoid demon’s base.

One that was not near an ocean, but one that was located beside another drawn and noted landmark called ‘The Forest of The Beasts’. Of course, it was written in the demon language, but Blake had the ability to read, speak, and basically understand the demon language fluently from the moment he was teleported to the demon realm.

‘If there was another humanoid demon’s base like this one that had many humanoid demons inside them, then it would be possible for me, Robus, and Cyra to level up again and possibly even evolve...’ Blake thought as his fingers were holding the temple of his head.
