136 Blake’s Decision

More than a couple of minutes had passed since Vera disappeared into the red sky of the first demon realm, but Blake still had his eyes wandering onto the red sky above, seemingly trying to see if Vera had really gone away or not.

It took him a couple more minutes, but eventually, Blake finally released his stare on the sky above and looked at his gorilla best friend, who was playing around with its new body freely across the large expanse of land.

It had been quite a while since Robus was in his smaller form due to the pendant that Vera gave the huge gorilla before, but Robus didn’t have the chance to play around with his new body so far because he was stuck in a small boat in the middle of the ocean.

It just wasn’t possible for him to see what his smaller body was capable of.

Of course, if he was asked which one he preferred, Robus without a doubt would answer that he would have to have his old, huge body back.

Being a demonic beast that focused on his literal body strength and toughness to fight his enemies and survive in the forest, getting his body to be almost as big as the trees was an accomplishment that took his blood and sweat, with the only exception of tears to actually get.

But seeing that neither Blake nor Vera had returned him back to his original size, and there weren’t any enemies yet, Robus decided to play around with his smaller body despite feeling a little bit weaker than his original strength, he still felt that his strength was much, much more than when he was originally in that size.

Robus jumped around, with his body flying ten meters away with a single casual jump, his strength was clearly not as compromised as he thought even when his body had gotten smaller.

There were no boulders in sight to test his strength on, so Robus decided to punch as hard as he could into the dark earth constructs that Blake made earlier, which resulted in a loud boom caused by two powerful dull objects crashing hard onto each other.

.....

But even with his full power put into his fist, the dark earth constructs still stood there without a single crack on its body, just like Robus’ fist, which only felt a slight numbness despite hitting something that was literally several times harder than stone.

“Robus, do you want to go back to your original size?” Blake finally asked after Robus seemed to be done playing around.

“R.” (Sure.)

With Robus’ consent, Blake then removed the pendant that Vera gave to Robus from his neck and put the pendant back into one of his dimensional pouches.

The lingering effect of the pendant stayed for about a whole second in Robus’ body, but that was it.

After one second had passed, another flash of light covered Robus’ body, as if signifying that the pendant’s effect was finally leaving his body. And when the flash of light subsided, Robus had gone back to his original size, being much or less 7 to 8 meters tall in size and his hands being big enough to grab one Blake with his palm.

Feeling his muscles and strength coming back to him, Robus released a loud roar that traveled to the tall earth mounds, then to the never-ending plains, announcing his arrival on the main continent of the first demon realm.

“Rr?” (Where do we go now?)

“Anywhere.”

“r?”

“Yes, we will go anywhere as long as we can find enemies to eat their souls.”

“We shouldn’t waste our time doing anything other than eating more souls so we could evolve faster.”

“The faster we evolve, the faster we will be able to meet Vera again and descend to the next realm.”

Robus might have gained more intelligence after the covenant he made with Blake, but that didn’t mean that Robus was fully able to recognize something was slightly off with his best friend’s demeanor.

So after hearing all of Blake’s statements, Robus only asked,

“rr?” (Go where?)

Blake hadn’t really thought much about what he would do once he arrived in the main continent as he thought that Vera would know what they would be doing, and he had planned to help her as best as he could while still hunting around for souls every day.

But now that the plan that she had in mind was that he needed to think of his own plan, Blake had to come up with one.

Blake then dived into his mind and thought about the best course of action that he should do now that he was left all alone with Robus.

He had decided on the main goal, and that was to gain as much soul as he could every single day so that he would be able to reunite with Vera faster.

But he hadn’t thought about how he would do it.

He wouldn’t be able to hunt much either as he literally knew nothing about the main continent.

He didn’t even know where he was currently, what was the place called, or what kind of enemies exist in this place. How would he know where to hunt for other demons to take their souls?

However, after a quick recalling of his mind, Blake then finally got an idea where he could find a lot of souls gathered in a single place without him having to run around and hunt aimlessly.

“Let’s go, Robus, I already have a destination in mind.”

Then with a simple gesture that the two had used countless times, Blake asked Robus if he could get on his back. And with another nodding gesture, Robus gave Blake the confirmation before extending his hand, offering Blake to help him get onto his back.

However, with his increased physique stat, Blake politely refused Robus’ arm before jumping using his own two legs.

“r?”

“There.” Blake pointed in a certain direction.

“Rr?”

“Yes, I am sure we will find a lot of demons and souls for the both of us.”

Then without wasting any time, Robus took a running start before lunging forward and started running and jumping forward, straight to the direction that Blake had pointed with his finger.

However, little did Blake and Robus know, the moment they started leaving the area, a demon with a pair of blazing red eyes were closely following behind them.
