Chapter 69: Demons (2)

Blake still remembered what Vera told him about the types of demons.

The demonic beasts that exist everywhere in the forest or more precisely, the island that he was currently on, the humanoid demons, which were supposed to be the same type of demon as himself and Vera, and the unique variant type demon that he had never seen before.

Blake also remembered that Vera told him that the humanoid demons that he would see in the first demon realm, the realm that he was currently in, would look quite different from him and Vera.

And although he didn’t have any idea what they would be like as Vera didn’t give him any explanations about what those differences would be, now that Blake had seen them with his own two eyes, he finally knew what Vera meant.

Hiding behind a tree with a large trunk, Blake’s eyes were glued to a certain direction where several figures were standing on their two feet.

There were five of the figures. Each of them had two legs that supported their whole body.

Different from the monkeys that had their body covered with fur and their limbs’ proportion and slightly curved back made it so that they could easily walk with 4 of their limbs on the ground, the creatures that were standing in front of Blake’s eyes were just like him.

.....

Standing with their back straight, no fur covering their skin, and with considerably longer feet compared to their arms that there’s no way they would normally walk with 4 limbs on the ground, Blake was 90% sure that the creatures that he was currently seeing were the humanoid demons that Vera had told him about.

But what made them noticeably different that Blake could instantly recognize what Vera meant just from the first glance?

The answer to that was none other due to their appearance.

Although they also stood straight on their two feet and they had two arms, two legs, one head, and one torso, their body parts were more ‘unique’ if compared to Blake and Vera.

Vera would be considered to be an ordinary human if her wings and horns were removed, and so did Blake if his skin tone is not inhumanely black.

But the humanoid demons that Blake currently saw were different.

Not all of them looked the same as the five of them had varying appearances, but none of them looked fairly human when compared to Blake and Vera.

One of them had claws about 15cms long. The claws were made out of white bones that protruded from the demon’s fist. Some also had a part of their skull thickening at certain parts, giving them some sort of armor or protection to their skull.

Others had disfigured faces that also had disproportionate features on their faces. One had three eyes, two placed on their foreheads, and one in where the eyes were supposed to be.

One had half a mouth, with the other half being sewn together by their own flesh. While the other had a mouth so wide that you could practically see its insides when seeing the demon’s face, jagged teeth, and extensive tongue included.

Half of them were bald, only showing their skin which was also ‘unique’ in color as five of them didn’t have a certain color. A few had red darkish color skin, one had dark green skin, and one other had brown skin. While the ones that had hairs were nowhere near smooth, with split hairs that didn’t look like they had been cared for in dozens of years.

And out of the five demons, only 2 of them had wings that looked very different compared to Blake’s wings that looked like a dragon’s wings or Vera’s bat-like wings.

One of the wings was fully made out of bone, and it was only shaped as the skeletal structure of the wings while the other set of wings looked very similar to an insect’s wings that looked very light with no skeletal structure.

The five humanoid demons that were standing in front of Blake were basically humanoid demons that still had physical qualities that were still quite far away from being able to be called a human.

Blake didn’t move even an inch away from his current position as he was afraid that the five demons would suddenly attack him if they found out someone was silently stalking them and observing their every movement.

Currently, the five humanoid demons were walking in a certain direction as they didn’t find anything that they were searching for in their last location.

The five demons walked leisurely as if they owned the place and took their time looking left, right, and forward to find whatever the thing they were searching for.

However, Blake was currently trying his hardest to not make any sudden decisions and reign his worry and panic inside his mind.

The gears in his brain were currently churning hard as he was thinking about a way out of the current predicament.

His hiding place was actually on the complete opposite side of where the five humanoid demons were currently going, so he won’t be found out by them soon.

However, the problem was, that the five demons were slowly, but surely moving toward Robus’ direction.

And different from the demonic beasts that Blake knew quite well, Blake didn’t know a single thing about the five humanoid demons.

He didn’t know their strength at all, what they were capable of doing, what their bloodline powers were, and most importantly, whether he and Robus were capable of defeating them.

Which means that just running in blindly to fight all five of them would be a very risky and questionable decision if Blake were to do it.

But if he did nothing either, then the five demons would run into Robus, which would happen 100% since the gorilla’s size prevented anything other than that from happening.

And the chance of the five demons ganging up on the gorilla was very high.

Blake was fine letting Robus fight a whole pack of wolves alone since he knew that Robus could deal with it.

But leaving Robus alone with 5 humanoid demons with unknown strength and power was not a choice. Blake didn’t want to risk his friend’s life.

So, before the five demons walked further forward, Blake decided to do something.
