Chapter 117 – Temple of the Five Internal Organs 7

To be honest, after running around in a fire for so long, Xu RenDong also felt parched and wanted to find a drink. So the two entered the coffee shop and went straight to the bar.

The decoration style of the store was the same as in reality, giving people a very familiar feeling. There was no lighting in the store and so the two turned on their mobile phones, feeling like two thieves.

Lian Qiao bent down and was about to get into the bar when suddenly a cold light flashed in front of his eyes and his figure suddenly halted. RenDong leaned forward in surprise and saw a bright sharp knife under the entrance of the bar.

The knife was fixed in the middle of the entrance with tape and the tip of the knife was facing out. It was obvious that someone deliberately placed it here in an attempt to hurt someone else.

Lian Qiao and RenDong looked at each other with complicated expressions.

With an unhappy expression on his face, Lian Qiao carefully avoided the knife and went into the bar. Xu RenDong didn’t follow but stood outside the bar holding up his mobile phone to illuminate him.

The cabinet was full of various coffee beans and there were coffee machines, measuring cups, and mugs on the table. Lian Qiao didn’t spend time and effort to make coffee but instead just collected some distilled water in a paper cup and handed it to RenDong from across the bar. Then he went to the freezer to get cake.

The two quickly replenished their energy and cautiously left the cafe.

After that, they found a small first-aid kit, bottled water, flashlights and other supplies on the first floor and even a crowbar. With the crowbar in hand, Lian Qiao felt instantly refreshed and as though there was nothing to be afraid of anymore.

But, at the same time, they also encountered more pitfalls. Either there was oil on the ground near the broken display case so that if you slipped, you would hit broken glass or there was a knife hidden in a narrow shadowy space. The blade was always facing outwards, waiting for some fool to hit it.

These traps, though clumsy, were full of maliciousness. It can be seen that the person who set these traps was in a rush but their desire to kill others was very sincere.

At first Xu RenDong thought it was done by the gentleman but, on second thought, the gentleman has not been reduced to such low level methods. What’s more, with the gentleman’s temperament, if he just fell and slammed into the knife’s edge, the gentlemen would probably think his method of death was too ordinary and not satisfy his perverted desires.

Also, the disembodied corpse in the bathroom on the third floor was obviously not killed by the gentleman.

Although the bathroom is haunted, the ability of the little ghost in red was obvious to everyone, and she has little ability other than to scare people. It is also suspicious that the heart of the corpse is missing. After all, this dungeon is called “Temple of the Five Organ”. He thinks that someone has probably found a clue to clear the instance and so they wanted to kill people to dig out their hearts.

So, is the person who set the trap the murderer who digs out hearts?

Xu RenDong thought for a while but there was no clear answer. For now, he just had to keep exploring this mall.

The second floor was the children’s area. In addition to children’s clothing and toys, there was also a large indoor skating rink.

Although the two soaked their clothes with water, the scorching flames still caused great damage. In this enclosed mall, oxygen was consumed by the flames and became extremely thin. The lack of oxygen made people dizzy and, with the thick smoke, the rare precious oxygen was wasted when they were coughing.

Fortunately, all the ice in the ice skating rink melted into water and the fire could not spread for a while. The two stumbled into the skating rink and stepped on the pond.

“Hu, hu…” Lian Qiao gasped and typed on the mobile phone, “What is that?”

RenDong was also out of breath. Everything was fuzzy in front of his eyes and he couldn’t see far in front at all so he had to shake his head and express that he didn’t know.

Lian Qiao took a deep breath: “I’ll go take a look.”

RenDong wanted him to take a rest before going again but the hand he stretched out came back empty. He really didn’t have the strength to chase Lian Qiao, so he could only lean against the wall and gasp for breath.

The fire scorched everything, making people feel restless. The firelight illuminated the glass fence brightly and Lian Qiao stepped on the pond. moving towards the center, walking firmly  with a wonderful sense of ritual.

RenDong narrowed his eyes. The cool air finally relieved him and he was able to see what was in the middle of the skating rink.

It looked like a corpse. There was a large pool of red around it, which should be blood, but it did not melt into the ice water.

Could it be that… before the ice melted, the blood had already solidified?

Soon, Lian Qiao returned from doing an autopsy. Xu RenDong raised his mobile phone and showed him the words on the screen: Missing the heart?

Lian Qiao nodded with a very strange expression. He typed a few words on his phone: And the tongue.

The tongue?

Xu RenDong was very surprised.

What was this murderer trying to do? From the heart and to the tongue, there were quite a lot of tricks.

Lian Qiao seemed to have thought of something and was searching for information. Suddenly, the ears of the two caught a scream at the same time.

“Ahhhh-“

The voice sounded from far away. The surrounding fire was crackling and sparking, blocking both hearing and vision.

The two ran towards the general direction of the sound and found that the sound came from the escape stairs. The two were worried about whether someone had been killed when they heard another sharp scream from under the stairs.

“Ahhhh-“

They were still alive!

The two rushed downstairs quickly to find blood tickling all over the stairs. The bloodstain spread all the way to the bottom level, leading the two to the dark red floor tile they had found before.

Revisiting the old place, the two opened their eyes at the same time, unable to believe what they saw.

They saw that the gray and bare wall had turned into an open crimson door at this time!

Behind the door was fog. The door is engraved with a pattern similar to that of the bronze door, and there are texts in the center of the left and right doors. Strangely, two Chinese characters were written on the door this time.

“Long Summer”

After “summer”, it wasn’t “autumn” but “long summer”?

What the heck…

RenDong bit his lip, feeling that the development of things went against his own speculation. Lian Qiao didn’t respond but just confirmed the surrounding environment and tried to find clues.

Soon, he found something and gently tugged on the sleeve of RenDong.

RenDong looked down and felt nauseated.

They saw a long, flat tongue lying on the ground, the end of which was still oozing blood.  Apparently it had just been pulled out of the mouth of a living person.

The tongue was here so what about the heart?

Xu RenDong looked at Lian Qiao, who shook his head.

Why was the tongue still here but the heart was gone? What happened to the person who was trying to call for help? Where did he go? What has he been through?

There is also the word “South” left by the ghost of the dead man in the bathroom before he disappeared… Suspicions emerged one after another. Xu RenDong only felt as though his head was in the clouds and couldn’t make heads or tails of it.

Lian Qiao suddenly tugged at his sleeve again and said, “Let’s go.”

Just go to the next scene like this?

There was no doubt that if you went through this door, you would enter another fantastic and treacherous place. Xu RenDong instinctively resisted but he also knew that he had no other choice.

So, full of doubts, the two crossed the brick red door and entered the world of “Long Summer”.

Going through the fog again, the cold water vapor trapped on the skin, still giving people goosebumps. Xu RenDong couldn’t help grasping Lian Qiao’s arm.

The familiar scene shocked Lian Qiao’s heart.

Isn’t this the same as when they first met? It’s just that the identities and positions have been exchanged and the worried person has become RenDong, while the strong and confident person has become Lian Qiao.

Once inside the mist, their tongues resumed function. Lian Qiao was elated for a moment and said with smugness: “No matter what is behind the fog, I will not shout out.”

However, reality immediately taught him who was the greater one of the two.

Because the next second, Lian Qiao suddenly stepped onto empty air.

“Ahhhhhhhh-“

He screamed.

The ground suddenly disappeared, replaced by a smooth, sloping pipe. The two of them couldn’t help but be caught off guard, they all fell into the pipeline, lost their balance immediately and began to slide down rapidly.

Fortunately, Xu RenDong had been holding his hand tightly so, at this moment, Lian Qiao pulled him back and into his arms.

This pipe was like a slide, straight and smooth all the way, there is not even a place to climb or hold onto. The pipe went down almost 90 degrees vertically, so no matter how the two of them supported the pipe wall with their hands, the falling trend did not diminish at all.

They didn’t know what was at the end of the pipe. But just rushing straight down at this height and rate, even if the ground below was just ordinary, they would still be smashed into pieces.

“RenDong!” Lian Qiao was in a panic. “Hold on to me!” Then he took out a knife from his pocket and slammed it into the wall of the tube!

It was the kitchen knife he picked up from the coffee shop. He didn’t know what brand it was  but it was extremely sharp anyway. However, the sharp knife, which was shining with cold light, still failed to pierce the wall of the tube and the two continued to slide down at a very fast speed.

“Fuck!” Lian Qiao cursed, clenching the kitchen knife and stabbing the pipe wall repeatedly. The blade rubbed against the wall of the tube, making a screeching noise. The speed of the two fell faster and faster and the physiological panic caused by the weightlessness took over their bodies and mind. If they were ordinary people, they would have already pissed their pants.

Fortunately, RenDong is not an ordinary person. He stretched out his hand from Lian Qiao’s arms with difficulty: “Give it to me!”

Lian Qiao decisively gave him the knife. Xu RenDong clenched the handle of the knife tightly  and stabbed down fiercely with a ferocious aura that came from nowhere.

Speaking of strength, Xu RenDong was not stronger than Lian Qiao. But RenDong was tortured to death so many times that he felt that even if it was God blocking him, he would kill God. He has been killed so many times by stupid ghosts and dumb snakes on his journey. If he died on a slide this time, it would be a shame.

Fortunately, the author took his face into consideration {lol!!} and this stab of RenDong really pierced the hard wall of the tube. The blade instantly sank into the wall of the tube and was deeply nailed to the slide.

However, the two fell too fast, how could a small kitchen knife be able to stop them? The weight of the two people, plus the huge gravitational potential energy, were all pressed on the arms of RenDong. Hearing a click, Xu RenDong’s arm made a crisp sound. RenDong snorted, unable to hold the blade anymore and fell down with Lian Qiao.

This time, the straight fall turned into a rampage. The two people slammed into the pipe, and their heads were bleeding. Lian Qiao struggled to protect RenDong in his arms and his heart almost jumped out of his throat. However, the pain of the violent collision made it difficult for him to concentrate and he couldn’t think of any solution at all.

I’m going to fall, I’m falling, I’m falling, I’m falling!

Even if there was a soft padded landing at the bottom, the potential energy of the collision would crush the internal organs of RenDong and he would not be able to survive!

I’m going to fall, I’m falling, I’m falling, I’m falling! What to do!

Although he knew it was useless, Lian Qiao still tried his best to adjust his posture and let RenDong lie on top of him. The pipes above moved away quickly, showing how fast they were falling. Lian Qiao knew that he would definitely die so he held a jade-like determination and confessed loudly at the last moment of his life:

“RenDong! I love—”

Before  he could finish speaking, Xu RenDong’s expression suddenly changed. Then he pulled him into his arms and successfully blocked his unfinished words with his chest muscles.

Lian Qiao: “Meow meow meow?”
