Chapter 1048 Risking Everything On The Line (Part 2)

David looked at the agents, who were glaring at him because of his words while trying to catch his breath. At the same time, he was also sending telepathic to Shiella, asking if she could escape on herself.

After inquiring about her situation and checking on the opponents that he was going to face, David could not help but shake his head a little. 'This is going to be much more troublesome than I expected.'

'Worst-case scenario, I have to unlock another meridian and risk everything,' he muttered with a helpless sigh.

It was at that moment that the agents finally snapped out of their daze and started charging at David. They were only a little surprised at his sudden appearance and were also taken aback by the raging mental energy revolving around his body. The mental energy was moving in a spiraling manner and flowing upwards – such a sight subconsciously made the agents halt their tracks and stared dumbfoundedly at him.

But their shock only lasted for a few moments. After all, they were agents working under the Hextech Laboratory, so they were quite familiar with these kinds of things. They even saw a much stranger sight and witnessed an even crazier scene.

David swept his gaze at the agents who were swarming at him like a pack of wolves before getting assuming a battle stance.

He first took a step back to avoid the agents who were coming from his side before quickly swinging his leg upward, heading straight to the abdomen of the assaulter.

Bang!

The impact was so strong that it made the agent suspended in the air for a brief moment even if he tried to increase the weight of his body. He even vomited when he fell on the ground before collapsing entirely.

David ignored that person as there were a pair of agents charging at him. One from his front while the other was coming from his body. He quickly stepped forward and threw a flying kick at the first agent, sending the guy flying back to the other agents behind him.

He then leaned forward right after he landed on the ground. And at the same time, one of his legs suddenly whipped upwards, following his movements. His heel accurately hit the chin of the agent, who was coming after his back, and sent him flying in the air.

After that, David quickly adjusted his footing before suddenly twisting his body as he lightly jumped on one foot. A roundhouse kick then landed on the agent's body while he was still in the air.

That agent was also sent flying back to his colleagues, forcing them to catch him.

Swoosh!

Then they saw David extending both of his arms outward, pointing his gun finger in different directions.

The agents suddenly sensed an ominous feeling at that sight and started to respond. They quickly raised their arms in front of them while gathering their Mental Energy and Internal Qi to form a Mentalism Barrier or a Qi Reinforcement on their arms.

It was at that moment when they saw David suddenly spinning around as bullets made of mental energy started flying out from the tip of his fingers.

'Myriad Manifestation Method: Air Pressure Bullets'

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

The formless mental energy bullets flew in every direction and hit all of the agents who failed to respond in time. The others, who managed to set up their defenses a little earlier, were not doing well either. They underestimated the strength of those bullets which cost them a heavy price – the mental energy bullets penetrated their defenses and filled their bodies with bloody holes.

Those formless bullets were made from the purest mental energy. Given David's current state, the strength of his mental energy far surfaced from his usual strength which was why the bullets had such a strong penetrative power.

Most of the agents collapsed on the ground after enduring the barrage of mental energy bullets. The lucky ones, who were far behind the others, managed to survive since the bullets could not reach them, or their comrades blocked them.

David did not worry about them as he quickly charged through their formation and headed straight to where Shiella was. He also knocked a couple of agents along the way, who were brave enough to block his path.

These agents might be strong compared to most people. The majority of them were Ethereal Opening Stage Experts while the rest managed to step on the Void Manifestation Stage.

There were also Mentalists in their ranks who were in an equivalent realm. Some were at the peak of the Grandmaster Realm with a couple of agents in the Ruler's Realm.

These agents were first-class forces within their organization, so their strength shouldn't be underestimated. But compared to David, who currently unlocked the third phase of his limit break, they were completely nothing.

Unless someone on the same level as Darren appeared, no one would be able to stop David. But he also suspected that Darren was a rare talent within the organization. And even if some of these agents possessed artificial talents, he refused to believe that they were as successful as Darren, who seemed to be the ideal soldier that the Hextech Laboratory was planning to make.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

David forced his way toward Shiella but no one managed to stop him. The agents tried their best to put up a solid blockade to stop him but still failed to halt his advance.

David was about to bend down and free Shiella when he suddenly paused briefly. Then his right-hand fist flashed and hit 'Shiella' who was on the ground.

That punch was so strong that 'Shiella' was buried under a pile of rubble. And as if it was not enough, he threw a few more punches that were much stronger than the previous one.

He only stopped when he felt satisfied. And the moment he did, the place where he stood was completely different from what it was before. A crater filled with broken rocks and boulders replaced the flat that he was standing earlier.

David combed his air with his hand when he stood up while saying. "That is a good disguise that can fool everyone. But in front of my 'Enlightened Eyes,' such thing is nothing but trash impersonation."

He then turned his head and looked at the agents who were moving around him. They stood at the end of the crater that he had created, forming an encirclement that was trying to trap him.

He did not put much thought into it as he was actually thinking about another thing. 'Since when did they swap Shiella with this fake? I did not notice anything at all.'

'Is it because my senses slightly become dull due to the extended period of maintaining the third phase of the limit break? Or is it because of something else?' he thought before spreading his Divine Sense once again, trying to look for Shiella's presence.

"Huh?" David could not help but raise his brows as he could no longer sense her presence no matter how hard he tried. "Strange."

While he was lost in his thoughts, the agents finally made their move. They jumped on the crater and started charging at David in an even crazier manner than earlier.

David forcefully broke himself out of his trance when he felt their movements. He kicked the small boulder beside him and sent it toward the incoming agents before chasing after it.

Bang!

The boulder was shattered by one of the agents, who had a muscular physique, as he charged through it. He was beaming with confidence as he ran forward.

But what greeted him was a fist covered with a Divinity Grade Mental Energy, flying straight to his face. He did not even have the time to think what it was as his head was blasted into smithereens.

Bang!

David did not pause his movements as he waved his other hand, releasing his mental energy.

Hu~!

Taking a deep breath, his mental energy turned into invisible threads that wrapped themselves around the flying rocks that were produced by the earlier action of the poor agent.

With a flick of his wrist, David sent the rock pieces raining down at the agents that were coming at him. The power behind those falling rocks was quite negligible due to the realm of everyone, but since David skillfully controlled them to hit the joints of the agents, their movements could not help but become disturbed.

While everyone was in chaos, David jumped in action and started taking down the agents, who were trying to recover their balance.

David's Spiritual Sense was currently on a whole other level. No one standing within its range was able to escape his perception. And due to it, he was able to accurately hit the agents to disturb their balance. And due to it, he was having an easier time dealing with them.

Of course, he could not avoid getting injured. Given the number of his opponents, it was impossible for him to block or dodge all of their attacks. All he could do was to minimize the damage they could deal to him.

On the surface, he looked to be rather calm despite his current situation. But he was actually getting a little anxious as the time went by.

He was starting to feel the drawbacks of maintaining the Limit Break for an extended period of time. And the more he used his mental energy, the heavier the burden his mind and body was suffering.

This was the reason why he was limiting his movements to physical attacks as much as possible. If he used more advanced mentalism techniques, then the outcome might be much more terrible than what he could think of.

As he was trying to limit the expenditure of his mental energy, he suddenly sensed someone charging at him at extreme speed.

That person only steps on the edge of his perception range for a brief moment, but they already reached his side within such a short timeframe.

David hastily turned around and crossed his arm while covering them with his mental energy. And right after he did that, he was suddenly sent skidding backward due to the powerful force behind his opponent's attack.

David shook his arms for a moment as he raised his head and look at the person who just attacked him. Then he saw a bulky giant standing in the distance, looking at him with an enraged face.

"I think that is enough of you beating our people. I will be taking you on," said the other party while cracking his knuckles.

David had a bad feeling about this as he could sense that this person was different from the other agents. At the very least, he seemed to be on a similar strength as Darren, who he just faced earlier.

He did not know when his reinforcements were going to arrive, so he had to put more effort into holding this people in place and prevent them from escaping. He knew that it was a more unlikely job given his current state, but he had to persevere until everything was over.

'I need to save Shiella at the very least,' he thought as he took a stance while the spiraling mental energy around him raged even more.
