Chapter 845 The Four Wolf Generals (Part 1)

As Shin and the group were getting near to the center-most part of the wolf den, where the alpha was located, four wolves with a huge size started to stand up. And alongside their actions, the other wolves around them also stood up one after another.

The distance was still a little far, but Shin and the others could already sense the threat that those wolves were giving.

Those were the most elite wolves among this pack which was already at the Lord Rank. It was already troublesome to deal with this many Lord Rank Wolves, especially with their numbers. The group was only able to fight them properly because this group was also composed of the most elite players in the game.

Given their experience, each of them could already guess the ranks of the four wolves who could command a bunch of Lord Rank Wolves.

All four wolves had the same set of information. Aside from the overwhelming ten billion HP, these wolves were not much different from the other wolves that they fighting since earlier.

But what really took his interest was the final two details at the very end of the information panel.

When he saw that, Shin suddenly remembered the nature of their quest. A blind quest that needed them to continuously explore the whole area to get more clues.

Thinking about that, Shin was able to immediately link the information that he got from the wolf generals and the background of their quest.

From the background of their quest, this place was supposedly a battlefield of two armies from a great war. The only question was which army do they belong to. From the cursed army and the native of this place? Or from the army that the said Goddess had sent to subdue them?

Shin immediately shared his insights with the other members of the group before telling them to continue according to the plan.

The four overlords might be strong, but the group already expecting that given that the 'normal' mobs that they were fighting up until now were Lord Rank Bosses.

"Zero, Faker, Lawless, and Simba will be dealing with those four overlords and buy us enough time to deal with the Alpha Wolf," reminded Shin as he exchanged glances with the three that he mentioned.

Given that the wolves could absorb the energies of their fallen comrades, the group couldn't afford to kill these four overlords and let the Alpha Wolf grow stronger.

There was a great chance that this King Class Boss would evolve into the next rank if that happened, which would literally spell doom for them. They really couldn't let these wolf generals die no matter what.

The only thing that they could do in this situation was to keep these wolf generals occupied when the rest of the group was dealing with the Alpha Wolf. Fortunately, their group had some members that fitted for the job.

Taking down a High-Level Overlord solo was still a little impossible given their current strength. But if it was only holding them off while also taking care of themselves, then they had more than enough members that could accomplish it.

Shin naturally chose Arthur to be with the team to take down that Alpha Wolf. It was mainly because the guy was the only knight they had and the only person who could tank the boss properly.

Shin needed to act as the secondary tank instead of Simba or Lawless because he needed the brute strength of those two to overwhelm two of the wolf generals.

It was more efficient for the team if he worked with Arthur as they act as the frontline of the group when taking down the Alpha Wolf. The two of them were most familiar with each other compared to the other members of the group, so it was not surprising that their teamwork was more seamless.

It was even better if they were going to work with Leonard. Even Black Hand, Ara, and S.Tigris saw how strong these three of them worked together during their time at the underground dungeon.

Unfortunately, no one in their group could replace him from his current assigned job, so they didn't have a choice but to let him handle one of the wolf generals.

While the group was closely approaching the center of the wolf army, the group immediately saw the three of the four general wolves taking a detour around them, seemingly planning to create an encirclement that would trap them within.

With such an obvious movement, Shin was able to instantly see through their plan. As a strategist himself, it was easy for him to read a few moves ahead of the opposing side after seeing such a basic strategical tactic.

"Go!" he shouted, ordering the four to initiate the plan.

Leonard and Lawless immediately shifted their direction and separated themselves from the group. They were sprinting in opposite directions and their target was the two general wolves who were leading their respective pack around the group.

Leonard directly leaped in the air and flew over the blockade of wolves that was preventing him from moving forward. And while he was in the air, he quickly used one of his Elemental Possessions from the get-go.

Roar!

A lion's roar resounded at the whole battlefield as an illusionary figure of a majestic yet also ferocious Lionkin appeared behind Leonard. And after a brief moment, he fused with Leonard.

Then he kicked the air behind him and sent himself launching towards the ground where his target wolf general was located. And during his flight midair, he raised the war axes in his hands while also arcing his body as if it was a bow.

In the meantime, the general wolf looked calmly at Leonard despite him falling from the sky like a meteor.

It waited for him to reach a certain distance before howling loudly towards the sky and summoning an energy barrier around it.

The impact of the collision was so strong that all of the wolves in the surrounding were sent flying by the shockwave.

Leonard looked beyond the barrier that blocked his attack and saw the wolf general looking at him with contempt.

"Hah!" Leonard couldn't help but laugh when he saw a mere wolf mocking him.

"Let's see if you can still look at him like that after I beat you into a pulp," he said with a huge grin.

On the other side of the battlefield, Lawless took a different approach when facing the blockade of wolves in front of him.

A huge illusionary figure of a black tiger appeared behind him as he charged ahead. And after releasing a deafening roar, it fused with Lawless making his appearance change a little, black stripes started to appear on his face as well as his armor.

His battle-axes also disappeared and seemingly fused with his arms. Then his fingers grew a little alongside his nails which also turned sharper.

Before, Shin gave Lawless a special vial that let him change his race into a special one. It might be not as amazing as Transcendent Races but its strength could be as strong as theirs if he managed to nurture it properly.

After doing a series of difficult quests and looking for some special herbs, he finally awakened the real powers of his bloodline, he even evolved it when he cleared his promotion quests.

He then accelerated his speed and swung his arms at the wolves blocking his way, ripping them apart as he continued moving forward. He looked like a juggernaut on the battlefield who was slaughtering his enemies left and right.

With such a violent method, he reached the wolf general in no time.

With an aggressive growl, the wolf general pounced at Lawless with its mouth wide open.

But despite how fast the wolf general moved, Lawless managed to respond to it and caught its mouth with each of his hands. Though, he still slid backward back the huge wolf due to the strong force behind its attack.

Lawless wanted to rip its mouth apart. But as an Overlord Boss, the strength that those jaws had was very strong. It was already amazing that he prevented them from crushing him.

In the meantime, the third wolf general successfully circled around the group as it cunningly used one of its colleagues as a cover.

It led its pack to launch a sneak attack behind the backline.

Cling! Cling! Cling!

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

But before they could even reach their ideal range to attack, a series of metallic sounds rang out of nowhere followed by the appearance of chains that blocked their path. Some of the unluckiest ones were even sliced and crushed by those chains as they got entangled with them during the charge.

Then Faker suddenly appeared behind the net created by the chains and looked coldly at the wolves on the other side.

His equipment was releasing a shadowy smoke, clearly indicating that he also used his Elemental Fusion earlier.

The wolf general growled angrily at Faker as if it was saying that its perfect plan was foiled by him.

"Heh!" Faker smirked at the angry wolf, clearly provoking it more.

Awoo~!

With a deafening howl, the wolf general ordered its subordinate to circle around the chains and rip Faker apart.

With another smirking smile, Faker made a pulling motion with both of his hands to control the chains and use them to block incoming wolves.

In the meantime, the rest of the group continued to move forward with Zero and Arthur in the lead. The former calmly looked at the final wolf general waiting in front of them while the latter was glaring at it fiercely.
