Chapter 152 Cat Dad Crashes Marketplace

Chapter 152 – Cat Dad Crashes Marketplace

Seeing the skill detail, Ran Tae’s hands trembled in excitement. Indeed, he needed this skill the most.

“A-Are you sure?! Isn’t this a good skill? Is my black stone enough?”

“Just take it, munya! Give me the black stone before I change my mind!”

“O-Okay!”

They completed the transaction. Xiaomao gave Ran Tae the camouflage skill while Ran Tae gave Xiaomao the corrupted spirit stone.

Still, Ran Tae added something extra to the trade. He had added smoked T-Rex meat in the trade slots before Xiaomao pressed the trade button. As a result, Xiaomao got extra items.

The white tiger immediately used the skill book. His golden name disappeared, and his presence faded.

Before Ran Tae left, he added Xiaomao as a friend and bid farewell.

“Thank you, sir! I really love this skill. I’ll return the favor one day!”

“Contact me if you find any item on the list, munya!”

Xiaomao grinned as the spirit stone was more valuable than a skill book. He looked at the other players, hoping for another volunteer or a trader.

Unfortunately, none of them had a corrupted spirit stone.

“No one? Then, I won’t be trading with you, munya. If you want my items, buy them from the market, munya!”

Xiaomao waved his tentacles, shooing the players to make a way for him.

Several players were unwilling, but the majority of them took several steps back and opened a path for Xiaomao’s party. Even though they wanted to rob the items from him, nobody was bold enough to cause trouble in the middle of the bank, where nasty NPCs could instantly kill them.

After leaving the bank, Xiaomao’s group visited the central market next.

.

At the central market, 20 NPCs were designated to handle the auction system and market inventories. These robotic humanoid creatures sat at a desk, staring at their customers with lifeless expressions and dull eyes. They sometimes talked, but most conversations were related to the system function.

Still, their levels intimidated all players. These NPCs displayed their real level without the level-difference restrictions.

Auction House NPC, Level 999

Nothing else needed to describe them. These guys could easily swat all rowdy players in this city, including the roaming town guards in the area.

Xiaomao approached one of them, which was ignored by the players. The marketplace NPC was an ugly and smelly orc, whose desk was next to a pile of trash pits near the slum area in the northeast district.

The odor of trash bags, rotten food, and putrid water was too disgusting for players. Even Xiaomao, whose nose was more sensitive than humans, almost fainted from the strong scent.

Lucky covered her nose and breathed with her mouth. She brought her master to the desk.

Xiaomao also stopped breathing with his nose. He opened his mouth like a panting cat and talked to the green orc.

“I want to access my market inventory and auction house, munya!”

The orc gazed at Xiaomao and smiled. He seemed happy to have a customer after a long while.

“It has been a while since I last helped a proper customer from the city. I’m tired of dealing with hoodlums and homeless scums in the slum. Here, I’ll grant you the access right.”

DING

The auction window and the market inventory were opened. Xiaomao could now access the market account and see the balance, which he had kept in the market inventory.

Xiaomao began arranging excess books. He put ten out of 200 low-level super rare books, which occupied almost all of his character and premium inventory slots, into the market inventory.

As the auction slot was infinite, Xiaomao put the first batch of 10 books to auction and set the initial bidding price.

“Time to make some money and stir the market, munya!”

.

After Xiaomao’s team had left, Apple 052 and his teammates rushed to the Labor Guild and entered one of their reserved rooms. 052 immediately put the item in the auction house and set the starting bid to two million dollars, which was equal to the buyout request price in the website’s market. The duration of the auction was set to one day. However, he didn’t set the buyout price as he wanted to make as much money as possible.

After setting the price, Apple burst into laughter.

“WE’RE RICH!”

The teammates of 052 cheered and congratulated their team leader for his good bargaining skill. Everybody watched the auction windows in front of them, waiting for the price to increase.

However, after 10 minutes, nobody bid for the super rare book.

052 sighed and consoled himself, “I guess only a few rich idiots have that much money. Let’s come back to recheck tomorrow.”

The others were disappointed. They had thought that rich gamers would have fought for the super rare skill book and bid several million dollars for it.

The KSG Guild’s members closed their market menu, but a dozen of them were still in the middle of window-shopping. As they were looking around, they noticed the flood of strange new items.

Super Rare Skill Book – Double Jump

Super Rare Skill Book – Javelin Throw

Super Rare Skill Book – Armor Break

Aside from these books, there were seven others. Moreover, the bidding price was absurd.

The starting bid was 500,000 USD, but the seller set the buyout price to two million for each item!

CHING

10 seconds after the items were listed, someone purchased them by paying the buyout price!

CHING CHING

All 10 books were sold out in less than 15 seconds!

“BOSS!”

The gold farmers called for 052 and showed him the market window.

While they were calling their boss to look at the market window, a new batch of the same skill books returned. The initial price and the buyout price were the same.

CHING

Again, all 10 books were sold out in seconds!

When 052 noticed the commotion and reopened the market menu, he saw the flood of new skill books. Once more, the seller set the same buyout price and the initial bidding price.

The seller didn’t just simply put five or ten books at once this time. He put 20 of them on the market.

Apple 052 suddenly recalled the cat with many skill books. He realized what had happened.

“IT’S THAT CAT! HE’S CRASHING THE MARKET!”
