[Oraaaaaa!!! Time to do Quests, Yuri-chan!!!!!!!!!!!!]

“Uoooooooooo, let’s gooooooooooo…!”

Second day since the attack event started.

I was climbing a cliff hundreds of meters high, soaking in sweat…!

Why, you might ask. Well, let me give you a rundown.

I had been wondering how to get stronger and then I had talked with Zansword about it, and here was what he said:

[You can now use combat arts, so why don’t you do special quests to learn special arts?]

According to him, there were two types of arts: those that you automatically acquired upon leveling up and those that you could learn from NPCs as quest rewards.

The arts acquired through the latter method were stronger and there were even unique ones.

“Well, it takes effort to learn, unlike the ones you get when you level up, so it’s only natural, I guess.

“But still… fugigigigigi…!”

Climbing a cliff was too damn hard!

Players with high Strength might easily do it, but all my stats other than Luck was zero.

Having zero Strength didn’t mean I was completely powerless, but it really was tough to overcome a trial that was meant for a superhuman (player) with physical strength that was only equal to mine in real life.

“Wheew… but I gotta do my best. Zansword said there is an NPC who can teach me arts at the top of this cliff…!”

While looking for a ledge that I could grab onto, I climbed the high cliff at the speed of a slug.

If I was being honest, this was really tough.

It would have been way easier if I could ride my firebird, but they had put a flying height limit in the first update.

“I guess I just have to spirit through it…! Everything can be solved with spirit! Oraoraoraoraoraoraoraaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!”

I aimed for the top with a roar.

――And so, I spent several hours climbing.

Halfway through, I fell once and nearly died. Many times I almost called it quits but each time I used my anger toward the devs to stoke my motivation, and I kept on climbing while the baldhead cheered me up in my mind, and so…

“…T-there it is! The top!”

I could finally see it!

J-just a dozen meters to go!!!

Climb a dozen meters higher, and I’d be at the top!

“Uoooo, the final stretch!”

I put strength into my tired limbs and continued climbing at a faster pace, intending to close the remaining distance without stopping!

But when I was only a couple of meters away from the top…

A large man wearing a Tengu mask suddenly showed up on the edge of the cliff.

–This guy must be the one Zansword mentioned!

“Hey, you’re the NPC who teaches powerful arts, aren’t you!? The guy called Tengu Hermit!”

He’d teach you arts after completing several quests from him.

A Tengu living in seclusion, how cliché! But that’s beside the point!

“I, Hero Yuri, came to learn from you! Gramps, teach me your arts!”

The moment I said that, Tengu Hermit stared at me and…

“Wha—Karma Points: Minus 1.25 million?! I shall never teach a p-psycho like youuuuuuuuu!!!”

“Huh?”

Tengu Hermit roared, his body shaking.

He materialized a bow and arrow in his hands and prepared to shoot me–!

“Wait, what are you trying to do, Tengu?!”

“Die, evil-doer! Archery art, ‘Gale Shot’!”

In the next moment, an arrow clad in wind shot toward me!

I quickly twisted my body to avoid it, but I was swept by the gale released by the arrow…

“Ah—aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh?!”

…I couldn’t hang onto the rock face and fell headlong toward the ground…!

T-that fucking Tenguuu?!

Just you wait, oraaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

A/N:

・Karma Points

Simply put, it’s a reflection of a player’s deeds.

Doing good deeds nets you good karma and increases your Karma Points, whereas doing bad deeds nets you bad karma and decreases your Karma Points.

Yuri-kun has let prisoners escape, burned the pope to death, and taken over a city and the whole world sees him as a great evil, so everyone, let’s not follow his example and watch our actions.
