Just read through the patch notes again, and man it’s awful.

Well yeah, I’m happy about the addition of the camera mode, new towns, and new quests, tons of ‘em in fact, but they totally killed the Summoner x Bow x Luck build.

Finally, some attention to Summoners! Well, the fact that our monsters’ stats go down sucks, but we can still make up for it with buff-type arts like Power Burst.

It can double the stats of all monsters for a few seconds in one cast, so it didn’t affect us as much as I thought it would. The arts drain MP like water, though.

I read they now limit how long a boss monster can be summoned, but I mean, Yuri’s the only one who has tamed boss monsters LOL

Well, on a more serious note, for them to completely crushed the winner’s build is kinda a dick move on the devs’ part…

The number of new players has apparently increased by 50,000 due to the influence of Yuri’s event video.

It seems the count is still going up, and with that many people, there’s bound to be someone who’s gonna overcome the hurdle of taming a Living Weapon and acquire that crazy fighting power.

If that nightmare were to get mass-produced, albeit inferior, it’s gonna be hell, I tell you… I honestly pity Yuri, but I can only tell her to choke back her tears…

…Speaking of, the developer of this game is apparently a team of up-and-coming geniuses who just graduated from a famous engineering university. They developed the game’s cutting-edge VR system by themselves.

Since they’re geniuses, they must have slipped in rants in the last update as a joke, right? I mean, it’s not uncommon for games to mix some jokes in their official announcements.

――In a dark conference room, several people were perplexed while looking at a three-dimensional window floating in the center of the room.

The three-dimensional window was displaying Yuri’s battle scene that had been streamed by a player named Seele a few hours prior, as well as graphs showing the steadily increasing number of new players and the amount of money charged by players after the stream.

“This player’s performance during the event has greatly helped us get a lot of attention, but… mm, she is too overpowered…”

“We’ve resorted to nerfing her, but how did she become even stronger in just the short span of one day…! Is she really the last boss and this is her second form or something? She’s such a pain to deal with…!”

“This girl is bad news… she’s found a bug in the system and remodeled ‘Arms Barrier’ into a combat-oriented skill… Her obsession with becoming stronger is too much…!”

“The analysis’s result is out. It seems that it’s less of a bug and more of an out-of-spec happening in the effect of the skill.

The shot weapons got treated as ‘shooting attack’ because the player was wielding a bow when activating ‘Arms Barrier’.

It caused the setting ‘enemy who is stabbed by summoned weapons takes damage’ to overwrite the ‘shot’ as an attack.”

“Ah~, in short, the system mistook the weapons as arrows, yeah? In this game, players can only use the weapon type they choose during the character creation, but the bow is the only weapon that allows you to use another weapon that is the ‘arrow’. It can’t be helped that the system made such a mistake.

“Yuri-chan really did well finding this trick~. She’s smart, cute, strong, isn’t she just the best?”

“Don’t become her fan?! …Hey Skill Development’s PIC, you take care of this!”

“I-I’m sorry! I-I will announce an emergency update right away and fix ‘Arms Barrier’ so the system doesn’t judge it as an attack. That should solve the problem. While I’m at it, I will also fix Shadow Weapon’s ‘Dark Clone’ so that it can’t make people explode…!”

“You dumbass?! Yesterday’s update already left us a mountain of protests from the people who started the game because they admired Yuri?!

…The (shitty) developers made a ruckus. Back in the university, they had been kicking each other down to get top grades, and they were on pretty bad terms, truthfully.

In addition, since they had trodden down the elite course, they had never done part-time jobs or the sorts, and they had almost no social experience.

Even what the players thought as jokes in the patch notes of the last update were, in truth, written with their honest feelings.

“You wanna get down, huuuh?!”

“What was that? You asked for a beating?!”

When it came to skills as a developer, they were exceptional, but once they snapped, they couldn’t be stopped. The meeting devolved from an exchange of opinions to an exchange of curses, they were all just wasting their energy in vain.

…And so, they decided to maintain the status quo in the end.

Their excuse was the game had become a hot topic thanks to Yuri. In fact, they came to the idea of having her do her best for free publicity.

“—Well, even if something goes wrong, tomorrow’s matter will be taken care of by tomorrow me. It’s already time, so I’m clocking out!”

“Ah~… it’s true. Well, we can just leave ‘Arms Barrier’ bug as a ‘trick’! If we fix it, the players will protest again, anyway. Alright, I’m gonna go back too!”

And so, the (shitty) developers left the conference room shouting “Leaving on time is the best~!” They had practically never been cornered yet, so their sense of danger was nonexistent.

Not knowing how much of a mess Yuri was going t create, they went home in high spirits…!
