A/N:

Thank you all for your feedback! I’m happy to get so many comments!

I can’t reply to all of them, but I read them all! I’ll answer your questions and suggestions to the best of my ability!

The other day, I received a question “How did Zansword become ‘Samurai Master’, a fairly high-ranking job, even though it hasn’t even been a week since the game launched?” I racked my brain to come up with the answer, which is: Zansword is unemployed.

There you have the big reveal!! Zansword, whose name often appeared in the story, is unemployed…!

Please be kind to him when he finally appears in the main story in the future…! (´;ω;`)

[The Developers Rebellion Arc Begins・The Reawakened Dangerous Guy]

The seventh day since the game launched. Yesterday the game was under maintenance and I couldn’t log in for the whole day. To make matters worse, I had a really rough day at school.

There was a cultural festival going on at my school, and the girls in my class (plus some of the guys, for some reason) had dragged me over to a costume shop called ‘Masquerade Shop’ where they rented out cosplay costumes and made me wear a women’s dress.

Everyone had gone “Kyaa! Kyaa!” when I did, and the upperclassman from the handicraft club, the creator of the costume, had even said with heavy breathing: “Ahhh, how wonderful! I have found a diamond in the rough!!!” She had even gone as far as to do makeup on me, sheesh.

Then, just as I had escaped from them, I bumped into my muscly macho homeroom teacher and fell over.

He didn’t realize that I was one of the boys in his class, and he had tried to hit on me saying, “Are you okay, miss? If you’re alone, how ‘bout you and I go around the school festival togethe—miss?!” Of course, I had immediately dashed away.

A day had passed since I had to go through those unlucky experiences. Yet as soon as I logged into the game, my rotten luck struck again.

“W-what the fuck is this?!”

A message appeared in front of me the moment I landed on the town square. I screamed when I saw it.

・With the update, we have adjusted the balance of the battle system.

The main changes are as follows ↓

1: In response to the rampage of some players, the status of monsters tamed through the effect of Summoner-type jobs has been weakened to ‘0.8x’ of their original stats.

2: In response to the rampage of some players, the cooldown time of summoning giant monsters has been extended from 10 minutes to ‘1 hour’.

*In addition, we have decided to reduce the power of the laser attack of the ‘Gigantic Dragon Plant’. We deeply apologize and kindly ask for your understanding.

3: In response to the rampage of some players, the number of boss monsters that can be tamed is now limited to 1 per species.

*In addition, excluding the ones that are in possession state, only one boss monster can be summoned at a time.

*In addition, we have decided to reduce the flight duration and altitude of ‘Vanishing Firebird’ from ‘15 minutes and 20 meters’ to ‘5 minutes and 10 meters’. Please, we kindly ask for your understanding.

4: In response to the rampage of some players, the cooldown time of the ‘Destructive Frenzied Summon’ has been extended from 10 minutes to ‘1 hour’. In addition, the number of monsters that can be summoned with it is now limited to 100 at a time. Please, we humbly beg for your understanding. (Developer/Summoner Development’s Person-in-Charge)

“H-how dare you, shitty dev?! These all clearly targeted at me!”

What some players, they were definitely talking about me?! In other words, this was their countermeasure against me?! How underhanded, those fucking bastards!

…Well, yesterday, once the heat of the battle royale went away, I calmly looked back on what I did, and I realized that I’d been just a little bit violent, but still, this was too cruel. I had predicted that they would make preventative measures to stop the birth of a large number of copies of me, but I didn’t imagine they would this far.

The patch notes continued.

5: The momentum of the ‘Flying’ skill of tamed possessing-type monsters has been weakened.

As a result, the homing ability of Living Weapon-possessed arrows is now almost completely gone, but we hope for your understanding. Arrows flying in with complex trajectories are nigh impossible to dodge.

In addition, Shadow Weapons’ skill, ‘Dark Clone’, has also been weakened. The number of clones it produces has been lowered from nine to three. It doesn’t consume MP, yet it can cause a rain of more than 100 arrows. It’s too OP, wouldn’t you say? If those with Summoner-type jobs were able to pull such a feat, those who had regular bow-using Archer-type jobs would be completely in tears at the unfairness. Even Archer’s arts can only split the arrow into ten at most, after all.

Just what was the Summoner Development’s Person-in-Charge thinking, I wonder? Please, we hope for your understanding. (Developer/Archer Development Person-in-Charge)

6: The multiplier for damage-increasing skills now has an upper limit of 10x regardless of how many of them are activated simultaneously.

When I thought about how more and more skills will be added in the future because of the system that will generate new skills based on players’ actions, I couldn’t help but realize: “At this rate, wouldn’t the players’ power inflate ceaselessly as they progressed into the end-game?” Just the thought of it makes me shudder. I’m afraid some players will almost certainly trigger damage-increasing skills every time their attack hits.

In addition, Guts-type skills now take 5 seconds to reactivate. It is intolerable for it to activate more than 30 times in a row because of extremely high Luck.

What was the Status Development’s Person-in-Charge thinking when designing Luck’s system? Please understand our situation. (Developer/Skill Development’s Person-in-Charge)

7: There is no change concerning stats. The others have made various adjustments, so I judged there is no need to ban or weaken pure stat builds.

After the event, I, the Stats Development’s Person-in-Charge, and the Summoner Development’s Person-in-Charge were criticized by the others, but I believe the fault lay in the fact the whole team hasn’t been coordinating well in the first place. Also, compared to me, the Summoner Development’s Person-in-Charge was way more guilty in this case, don’t you guys agree?

I am a victim here. (Developer/Stats Development’s Person-in-Charge)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

“You guys are a team, get along, why don’t you?! You shitty dev!”

And I’m the biggest victim here!!!

I was really pissed off. Sometimes, developers slipped in some jokes in their official explanations to calm their player base, but being the one most harmed by this fucking update, they didn’t calm me down at all, you dumbass dev! They were just making me more pissed off!

Additionally, there were notes at the end that said: ‘It is now possible to buy in-game currency with real currency, and conversely, convert in-game currency to real currency’ and ‘Along with the implementation of story quests, many towns have been added’. However, I just gave it a cursory glance and closed the message window.

I mean, how the hell could I enjoy the new content when I couldn’t really fight?

“Haa~… So to sum it up, my tamed monsters are weakened, I can no longer set loose my horde of boss monsters to trample over my enemies, Pontaro and the gang has lost their absolute accuracy and number advantage, their firepower limited, and ‘Tenacity’ now only activates once every 5 seconds.”

Hmm, it sure was harsh.

I could live with the weakening of my tamed monsters. During the battle royale, I acquired a skill named ‘Demon King’s Kin’. It buffed the stats of my tamed monsters by 1.3x and activated 24/7. It canceled out the nerfing.

I could only give up on my boss monsters’ rush attack, so next was Pontaro and the gang, huh.

“Come out, Pontaro.”

“Kishasha~…!”

When I summoned an arrow emitting jet-black light, it flew around me less energetically than usual. Looked like Pontaro and the gang really could no longer make sharp turns mid-flight like before.

Pontaro cried as though to say, “Yuri-aneki, I got done in by the developer gang bastards… I’m now useless to you…!” so I took him into my arms and patted him. There, there.

Hmm~, I could do nothing about the fact I couldn’t create rains of arrows anymore, but when it came to accuracy, it seemed that I could make do somehow.

I had acquired a skill that gave the homing ability to projectiles named ‘Magic Bullet Shooter’ during the battle royale, after all.

To test it out, I took out an item called ‘Dragon Plant Seed’ and hurled it at a pigeon that was looking for food at a distance.

Then,

“Kruppo~!”

“Ah, it took off…”

…the seed did fly towards the pigeon, but that was it. It didn’t chase after the pigeon when it promptly took off, and just fell to the ground where the pigeon had been following its initial trajectory.

“I see… though it says homing ability, it’ll only strike true the place you aim at, but won’t follow when the target moves.”

It would likely hit stationary opponents, but I didn’t think it would be very effective against fast-moving opponents.

Well, that was just a seed. If I used it on Pontaro and the gang, combined with their remaining flight ability, they should be able to home in on the opponents a little bit even if they move, but a 100% hit rate was no longer guaranteed.

I heaved another deep sigh as I picked up the Dragon Plant seed.

“Haa~… and lastly, there’s ‘Tenacity’, huh. It can’t be activated continuously anymore, huh. Just how am I supposed to get around this one…?”

Now it was pretty much impossible to play at 1 HP.

But if my HP wasn’t 1, I would lose the Luck-boosting effect of skills such as ‘Conqueror of Adversities’, and even if my HP wasn’t 1, I would instantly die if I took even just one hit because I had zero Defense. Dammit, what am I supposed to do now?

Should I stop maxing out my Luck and start to put in some points in other stats going forward? I hadn’t used the stat points I got when I leveled up during the battle event.

While thinking about that, I opened the status window…

“—No way I’m gonna bow down to the shitty dev!!”

I put all the points I had into Luck!

Alright, my resolve was set. Even if I redistribute my stats going forward, I wouldn’t have a decent stats composition, anyway. Since that was the case, might as well stick to the extreme Luck path.

Besides, if I were to call it quits here, that would mean I lost to the dev. With these changes, they probably thought the Summoner+Bow+Luck combo was now back to being useless, but was that really the case?

“I’ll become stronger with this weakest build style. I’m gonna make sure those scums at the dev team rack their brains event after event…!”

Even if they nerfed me every time, I would never give up.

I mean, the dev’s credibility would definitely take a hit if events’ winners were to get blatantly and heavily nerfed over and over again. The game might end up getting a bad reputation as a game where you would get weakened if you try hard, which in turn would lead to the player base leaving in droves.

That was right… as long as I didn’t lose heart and continued to win event after event with guts, the dev would eventually raise the white flag.

I was probably just being obstinate, but I’d keep doing my best to make the dev tuck its tail. Of course, making tons of money on the side by getting items to sell and using the in-game currency-to-real currency convert feature would be nice, too.

As a man, no way I would take injustice lying down. I’d become a real ‘last boss’ that even the bastard dev couldn’t mess with…!

“Just you wait, shitty dev…! I’ll be the strongest player that no one can ever defeat, and enjoy this game as I please…!”

Having made up my mind, it was time for me to get right on it!

Oh right, I could use event points to obtain limited items and limited skills.

When I brought up the page from the menu, “You may only get one item of each kind. In addition, you may only learn the maximum of three limited skills” was written. This was likely to prevent a huge gap between players who played an active role in the event and those that didn’t.

“Since I’ve got a lot of points, maybe it’ll be a good idea to try various stuff out.” Muttering so, I headed towards the ‘Training Ground’, the only place where we were allowed to have a fight in the town.

・The devs have made the dangerous guy serious.

The upperclassman uses the desuwa thing like a certain dress-maker, and the pick-up line of the macho homeroom teacher made me recall a certain baldhead… how sus…
