Chapter 48 - Only Hope

Name:Back For My Daughter Author:HaoShu
At a luxurious mansion surrounded by many willow trees and a huge artificial pond.

It was indeed beautiful scenery as there were many trees surrounding the mansion and many birds were chirping while that sat on them.

"Wroom wroom"

A red coloured Mercedes C-Class arrived at the gate of the mansion.

The guard quickly opened the door as he had seen the car coming from afar.

He quickly opened the gate and smiled.

After the car entered the gate the hard quickly closed it.

After the car travelled for about a few more minutes i.e. nearly 400 meters the car stopped at the area near the door of the mansion.

The door was opened quickly and a woman in her mid-twenties walked out with excitement on her face as she carried a wooden case.

After she jumped out of the car she called out.

"Sister Fen come out quickly I want to use this quickly."

The lady in the car sighed and said.

"Sister Xiaowen let me park the car first, how about you go in I will follow after you."

"Alright, come quickly."

It was Han Xiaowen indeed, she didn't have much hope in the charms, which the man at the Ancient Relic Market sold her, but after he placed his hand on her head she suddenly felt maybe there was a chance for her mother to wake up from her vegetative state at last after these two years.

About half an hour after they moved she received a call from her aunt about a man who had brought a cheque with her sign, she knew that it was the one who sold her the charms.

She thought.

'Even if the charms work a little and help Mom t get her condition better, it will be worth the money, besides with thing he did to me after placing his hand on my head, I don't think anyone will be able to do it, it was really magical I am feeling so good and energetic now.'

'That Master would have been in dire need of money to use his abilities right before everyone, the thing he did to me was more than what I paid for.'

Han Xiaowen thought as she entered the mansion and walked in.

The mansion was not only grand from the outside.

There were many luxurious antiques placed for the decoration and many expensive pieces of furniture most of which was cover in leather.

There was rarely anyone besides the maids and gardeners, her mother and Xiaowen in the house so she didn't look much and went to a room on the first floor.

There was a cheerful smile on her face as she walked to the room.

'Mom this will help you for sure.'

"Xiaowen."

She was walking to the room when she heard someone call her.

Hearing the voice, she frowned first then controlled herself and turned to the sofa.

A man in his mid-forties was sitting on the mahogany sofa with his legs crossed as if it was his own house.

"Uncle, what are you doing here?"

Han Xiaowen's father died in a car accident about a decade ago when she was still in high school.

Later the business and company was managed by her mother after he died, she was able to make the company and the business flourish with her abilities but then two years ago she suddenly fell ill.

All the companies and the business was then passed on to Xiaowen, she had somehow managed to take control of the things but after her mother fell ill the companies were having some problems and went into a hodgepodge.

And she had got the news that these turmoils were caused by some people so as to make her surrender the company and business.

There were many such people but among them, there was also the man sitting in front of her, her uncle Han Lao.

There was rarely anyone who came to meet them when her mother was fine but now many came to visit her and console her that she was too young and could not manage the companies so she must let others help her, but naive she was not she knew these people were after the companies and many businesses that her mother made throughout all these years.

This uncle of hers would now visit her every week nowadays she was already very eager to wake her mother up before but after seeing her uncle she felt it was going to delay a bit.

The man had deep brown eyes and had glassed, he had black shoulder length hair, and was wearing many rings in his fingers, he had an expensive suit.

But the look in his eyes was that of a wolf as he gazed at the mansion with greed in his eyes.

He looked at Han Xiaowen pitifully and continued.

"My niece can't I come to see you once in a while, besides there is some sreious reason for me to come here today."

Han Xiaowen squinted her eyes and looked at him.

"What is the reason for you to come her uncle?"

Han Xiaowen said sarcastically.

Han Lao's lips twitched hearing her sarcasm as he continued.

"I don't know how much trouble you are making for yourself. But you shouldn't waste money like this with buying some indiscriminate things, and you even believed in some charms could cure your mother's conditions. If this continues then all the business and companies will go down with your useless wastrel behaviour."

Han Lao sneered.

Hearing him, Han Xiaowen understood that Wu Ping would have backbitten on her. She all of a sudden had the urge to give a few kicks and punched to the hateful Wu Ping, and break his graceful face and make it into a pig face. She stayed silent for a while and didn't want to reply him.

"What can't you talk anymore?"

"Do you really think these kind of things work and then what are you going to call a man who will bring spirits in his body to do some magic to cure your mother."

Han Lao sneered at her.

"Uncle if you are done with the things here you can leave now."

Han Xiaowen said as she turned to her mother's room.

Han Lao watched her back with his mouth open and then glowered.

"Xiaowen there will be a meeting of Board of Directors in a week, they think you are not competent enough to lead the industry and the business. You will need to step down for the position after the decision is made."

Han Xiaowen stopped and while frowning and turned to him.

Han Lao had a devilish smile as she saw him.

"How can they decide whether I step down or not, I have the most amount of shares."

"Well they are in your mother's name and she has not handed you in a lawful manner so the Board of Directors have the ability to remove you."

Han Xiaowen stared at him in disbelief and her heart slumped she started to tremble from anger as she clenched the wooden suitcase in her hand tightly.

"Han Lao you.."

Han Xiaowen finally said but was unable to continue as tears started to drip from her eyes.

Han Xiaowen cursed Wu Ping in her heart. She knew how could Han Lao convince the Board of Directors to his side, he might have used the power of Wu family to turn them towards him, by convincing the Wu Ping that after this Han Xiaowen might fall and would have to listen to him, and he would then make her marry him.

Although Han Lao had some government power in his hand he was still not content with it and wanted to take over her Business and companies.

With that he would also have her business and companies and would even grow in power in the government, now that he was a mayor and was supported by her family from behind.

He would always remain a mayor if he didn't try to make some connections with other powerful families.

So he wanted to use the power of both the families to make a progress in his career as well.

Sparing her another glance Han Lao sneered and walked out of the hall.

Han Xiaowen fell on her knees as tears started to fall from her eyes and her lips quivered.

'How can do such a thing it was made by my mother with so much effort and they just wasnt to snatch everything form us now.'

As she was trembling the wooden case in her hand fell on the ground and opened.

The charms started to fall from that.

Seeing the charms falling on the ground Han Xiaowen wiped her tears forcefully and picked them up.

"You are my only hope now."

Saying that she clenched the aces tightly and ran into her mother's room.

She understood that without her mother she would not be able to pull the things off now.
