Chapter 12 How To Best "Use" Your God-Ranked Skills

A young man could be seen, heading towards a "certain" battlefield, his steps pacing in a tranquil manner. It was the total opposite of the demeanor he was showing off.

Random mob A: "Woah.. look at that, guys. That dude is certainly a master!"

Random mob B: "Looks like someone's going to earn big today."

Random mob C: "Just take a peek at the aura he's emitting unconsciously, he definitely knows what he's going to do. Simply by taking a look at the tuxedo he's wearing, you'll know that he's definitely one of the "big players" out there."

That young man, while being misunderstood by some random nobodies as a rich player due to this rip-off tuxedo seemingly having worked out its purpose, he stepped into the [Majestic Sphinx]. While this certain "battlefield" could be dubbed to be a "Casino" in layman's terms, for our young Asher, it was indeed a battlefield.

[Majestic Sphinx] was the second-largest casino in the entire nation of Athanasia. What better place did there exist to test out his skills on, than a casino where he could also earn big? A dungeon? No way! Maybe if he were a [B] rank, he could have gone to a dungeon to earn some quick money. But one doesn't "EVER" get rich from an F-rank dungeon. Perhaps if he raided F-rank dungeons for the rest of his life, he might earn something worthwhile though he had already set his goals to go back home as a billionaire today.

[Majestic Sphinx] looked more like a castle from the outside. Just a simple look at its security and you'd even see [A] ranks or perhaps even one or two [S] ranks guarding it. The castle-life structure seemed to be built of the priciest materials you'd find on Eupheris. Being built in a "U-like" shape with a height of over 60 meters, it was painted in gold itself!

Walking inside the building, Asher was instantly mind-blown.

'HOW MUCH MONEY DO THEY HAVE TO FLEX LIKE THIS?'

Every single thing you could find inside the [Majestic Sphinx] was covered head-to-toe in gold. Even the lights were gold!! Looking in all directions, one could see every game you could ever imagine that could be found in a casino.

[Majestic Sphinx] and all the other casinos in Athanasia employed various methods to suppress the skills and mana of Awakened. Perhaps only SS-ranks would be able to freely use mana in this place. It wasn't impossible for [A] or [S] ranks to do the same, but they'd be instantly discovered and apprehended if they did so.

This wasn't really an issue for Asher though as he possessed the [Divine Eyes] whose rank while he wasn't aware of it, was definitely somewhere in the ranks of Gods. Based on the novel he had written, only when you got the mana control stat at the [F+] rank could you freely make use of mana and manipulate it outside your body. The system, as people called it actually consisted of several hidden features that one could only view once they completed the requisite hidden conditions.

Only when one at least reached the F-rank realm and also had mana control at the [F+] rank could one truly begin their journey. This meant that every single [E-] rank was able to make use of mana in ways other than simply strengthening your own body. At [E-] rank people could finally start using their affinities. At this specific rank, the path would be divided into two for every single person.

Whether to pursue the heights of physical strength and focus on condensing your mana into a core once you reached the [E-] rank, or to make concentric magic circles surrounding your heart, thus becoming a mage. There, in fact, existed a third way which was to focus on strengthening and trying to congeal your Spirit, trying to make it manifest into reality as a physical existence. This way was the least pursued as evolving your Spirit was much harder than the other two methods, with Physical Strength being the easiest to increase.

If you focused on improving your Soul, you'd be known as a Soulrender, while focusing on your Physical attributes would classify you based on the role you play, such as an Assassin, Tank, Melee Damage Dealer, etc. Those who were blessed by Gods, and possessed special characteristics were simply called specialists. Most of those blessed by the [Sacred] faction acted as healers.

A Soulrender was one of the most unfathomable and fearsome existences out there as, if you didn't have any means to guard your soul, you could quite easily die in a single hit. The soul was the most vulnerable part of an entity and a simple scratch on it could cause one quite excruciating pain.

Now, all of this brought us back to the point of the hidden settings in the system. When one was finally able to control their mana and manifest it outside the body, the system would then start to display ranks of each skill. Not only that but, a person would also be able to possibly view more information on their Skills, Arts, and Profession along with the ranks of each Skill. Skills were ranked from [G] to [Ex] with [Ex] being the rank above [SSS]. They didn't have any subranks either.

There were a lot of theories that the people of this world had thought about, and the most likely one was that only when you were able to at the very least manifest your mana, the system would deem it enough to show you the ranks of skills, and some other hidden settings. This might be because without being able to manifest mana, one would never be able to display the true worth of skills.
