Chapter 93 The Appearance Of The Trueborn

Xuan Jie, the second wife of Kang Fan, had an extremely ugly expression the moment Ren Ye raised the issue of the past. Her eyes burned with a raging fire to control the man in front of her.

Ren Ye side-eyed her expression as he curled the corner of his lips into a confident smirk, "You have an awfully reactive reaction to this information."

"I had expected you knew about it better than anyone else in this room," His words carried knives as his eyes remained tranquil and calm. He raised his eyebrows at the trembling Kang Fan.

"Your Excellency, I apologize for intruding in here," Ren Ye bowed his head slightly as he muttered in a calm pace while looking disinterested, "It is not the Jing Family's request to send me here."

"I came here with my humble self without their help. I believe it is my duty to inform you of what I have found sixty years ago," Although he sounded disinterested, his words evoked a sense of intrigue and curiosity.

Kang Fan stopped trembling on his bed as he attempted to raise his neck to get a glimpse of him but Xuan Jie was not having it. Her fuming eyes glared at him as she threatened, "Leave now or I will call the guards to come and get you."

"He thinks not, Madam," Ren Ye tilted his head at Kang Fan's direction. In his eyes, Kang Fan's face was dreary and worn out. His cheekbones were displaying as his entire skin wrinkled from his old age.

His eyes were still the most reflective compared to his entire body. They carried a sense of despair and desperateness.

Ren Ye pitied this former patriarch very much, considering he had to deal with his wife and child's passing. After which, he has to deal with the internal problems inside his family. His way of solving the problem was he had to marry Xuan Jie, his former lover.

But pity was not something one should feel for the cause of everything that took place. Had he been more pragmatic and aware, he could have prevented what comes next.

Kang Fan, in a patient's gown, lifted his hand and pointed it at Ren Ye; gesturing him to come next to him. Xuan Jie's face turned green as she saw this.

She tried to convince him, "It is not for your health. It will worsen your health even more."

Only she knew how their deaths had plagued him until his current form. She was reasonable to use this excuse in order to protect herself and lastly himself.

Kang Fan shook off her hands as he opened his toothless mouth, "You say…"

Xuan Jie's face turned green from anger and having everything go out of control, "Guards."

The woman caused chaos inside the room as she attempted to rush outside the door to call for the nearby guards. Ren Ye didn't stop her as she rushed outside.

Instead, he turned his head to look at Kang Fan with a look of pity.

"Your wife seems to be extremely offended at what I am going to do."

His eyes gleamed with mischief as he watched Kang Fan cough roughly, "I am surprised to see you are still alive."

Ren Ye didn't have any respect toward Kang Fan. Instead he regarded him as nothing more but a worthy pawn in his game. He was taught to respect the powerful and the rich but how could he do so if he knows their dirty secrets?

Kang Fan's mouth moved constantly but he didn't utter any word. Ren Ye could guess what he is going to say, he smiled genuinely.

"You didn't want to die without seeing them."

Kang Fan's mouth stopped moving for a while before Ren Ye chuckled loudly, "Oh, I didn't come here to inform you that they are still alive."

The hope in his eyes broke into pieces as he appeared as though he wanted to break down at that moment. Ren Ye went straight to the point and said, "I am sure you know who is precisely behind the car accident."

"Mm. You just couldn't accuse her after what she has gone through for you," Ren Ye pointed out the key features of the man.

Kang Fan's eyes dimmed signicantly.

"As a father, you have served your duty well when your child was alive but what you did as a husband, I absolutely detests you."

Kang Fan shook as he looked lost.

Ren Ye took out the box from his bag and extended it to Kang Fan who looked at it with child-like curiosity as though he didn't understand what was going on.

"Kang Lei asked me to find this for you."

Ren Ye took out a box engraved with letters. If one were to put the letters together, they would get 'Kang Lei' spelled.

What he didn't expect was that Kang Fan would burst into tears as he saw this.

He quickly grabbed onto the box and hugged it against his chest tightly, he caressed it and mumbled words that no one was unable to understand. Tears were shed upon the crest of the box as Kang Fan sobbed silently.

"My son…"

Kang Fan suddenly had the energy inside his body as he twisted the knob and opened the box. Inside the box was pile of ash that was put together with a dark-colored picture and what seems to be a keychain.

Kang Fan finally broke down in front of him.

Ren Ye had mixed feelings at this moment as many of his guesses seemed to be turned upside down. How come he didn't appear to be aware of his son's death? How could he recognize his ashes at first glance?

Ren Ye felt conflicted as he asked, "He asked me to give this to you. He never wanted you to be worn out by his death."

"He could only hope you can move on and let go of what happened."

Ren Ye's initial loud voice gradually became lower and lower as he spoke. Before Kang Fan could say anything, the door burst open and a hoard of security guards charged in.

They stood in front of the door as Xuan Jie pointed at him viciously, "He has the intention to harm my husband!"

The security guards were about to attack the man onto the ground before they heard a wailing and sob from behind him. They were completely rendered speechless as they watched the former patriarch of the Kang Family broke down in wails and tears.

Kang Fan didn't bother to look at them as he caressed the box and using both of his hands to grab onto the grey ashes. The ashes slid down his palms as he tried his best to grasp them.

"My son…"

He mumbled continuously.

Ren Ye's gentle eyes suddenly turned playful as he watched Xuan Jie and the men she bought with her, "Mm. Where did you find all of these men?"

"Hopefully, you didn't kill their wives to be able to bring them here."

His expression completely twisted in front of Xuan Jie's ugly face, he curled his lips into a vicious smirk. His words seemed to pierce through her exterior as she spat out,

"What did you say, you f*cking bastard?"

Xuan Jie cried out, "Capture him and drag him away."

The security guards were still stunned by this scene that they had never expect to appear before in their entire life, much less from a powerful family.

"Madam, you are always offended by what I say. What have I said wrong?" Ren Ye playfully pouted his lips as he looked at her with 'sadness'.

The security guards finally snapped out of their dilemmas and rushed forward to capture Ren Ye. As they rushed forward, Ren Ye calmly extended his arms as though he was waiting for them to fall into his embrace.

"I command you to stop you this madness," A deep and powerful voice echoed across the entire room as man with a lean figure appeared next to the door.

His eyes were dark as his face was laced with years of personal experience that bought him this commanding voice. He had sharp eyebrows and chiseled jawline, he was extremely pleasing the eyes. He had thin lips and short trim hair.

Ren Ye could see a resemblance between this man and Kang Lei. Thus, allowing him to ascertain that the man standing in front of him was none other than the current Patriarch of the Kang Family, Kang Di.

He didn't have the flamboyant effect that many people expect from a young Patriarch. Instead whenever one lays their eyes on him, they could see that he had been someone who was trained and groomed to command.

"No wonder, he is extremely persistent on chasing Jing Xue," Ren Ye frowned as he thought, "He appears to be the type who wouldn't take no for an answer."

"Indeed. He looks to be better than his mother but I cannot be certain of that. Be wary of him," Old Yi warned him inside his head.

Everything appeared to have stopped as Kang Fi walked inside with his head lowered and in a casual uniform as if he intended to come here for an ordinary day out.

"Now tell me what is going on here?" His eyes darkened completely as an intimidating aura subdued everyone in the room.
