Jovani didn't want to leave yet but Alonso kept bothering him. Whatever got into the other seemed fairly serious based on the way that he was acting.

The mercenaries won't all as bad as he was making them out to be. Jovani had been around them enough to know that for himself. More than that though, Alonso should have known that himself. The man spent more time with them after all than his boss had.

What was a sudden change in pace in being around them again? Shouldn't have been anything that the other man couldn't handle. Alonso was better put together than that. Even if the person he did punch happened to be an old acquaintance.

"You seemed to be bothered by this too much so I decided t come and see what was going on for myself. I don't think that it is something worth worrying about as much as you are." The Vedova Nera boss likely shouldn't have been driving but was far too tired to care. One arm was more than enough to keep the wheel straight without too many drivers on the road.

It wasn't like the police would pull him over anyway.

"You think so? Do you even know what this has started?" Alonso showed his phone to the other who glanced down at the stream of text messages.

"You're back in touch with them? Good for you, you're remaking friends with an old crew." Jovani pushed the phone back towards the other. It seemed like the normal type of texting that took place between people who were friends.

Nothing dangerous or worthy of noticing stood out to Jovani. If anything, they seemed rather pleased to be chatting with his right-hand man.

"I don't see anything there that's worth worrying about. I think you should just get better at accepting admiration from others." Jovani walked around the other to get ready to head inside of his estate.

Too much time on his feet was causing his arm to hurt even worse than before.

Going inside would at least allow him to find something to drink to be able to drown a whole bottle of painkillers after which he might be able to get a few minutes of sleep.

"The admiration part isn't what is bothering. It's the fact that their boss isn't thrilled about this shift. That man is crazy. Potentially crazier than your cousin whom we're still dealing with."

"You think that there is someone who is crazier than him? I would have to see that for myself before I would be able to believe that." Jovani laughed lightly, glancing over his shoulder at the other.

"Though it's fair to say anyone man worth his salt would be pissed after being knocked out by someone they thought that they had an advantage over. He'll probably cool off over the whole thing eventually."

Jovani's words hardly helped the other to feel better.

It seemed as though his boss wasn't taking what he said all that seriously.

"He's not the kind of person to let this go easily. I don't care really whatever his men want to do about. I don't like being associated with them. Not after everything that happened before. My concern is what the other might do. You know who is with them still." Jovani paused right before reaching the kitchen where the sacred pain pills would be located.

"I guess that just means that we will have to do something about getting ahold of him sooner than anticipated then, doesn't it? I'm pretty certain that the princess would be more than thrilled if we could anyways." It might have been exactly what Jovani needed in fact. Something that would get her to get off his back for a little bit.

A different kind of peace offering than the other was used to giving but it could still work out in his favor.

"Do you know where to find him? They certainly didn't know where he had gone beyond the fact that he left before I got there. I don't think that it will be that easy to get ahold of him." Jovani raised his hand to signal for the other to stop speaking for a moment as he downed the pills with vodka.

"You need to think outside of the box if you are wanting to find him. They might not know if they don't care. Give them a reason to care and I'm sure that they won't have a problem finding him for us." Jovani tossed the other apple off the counter.

"First, you need to eat something though. I highly doubt you've had anything since before you got back either. Second, just give them something to work with and I'm sure that they will find what you want them to." Alonso didn't seem convinced by the other but focused on the food handed to him.

He did need to eat something. He'd not had much of an appetite for everything that had been happening.

"An apple day is supposed to help keep the doctor away. You might want to consider eating a few more if you're going to stress much. It would be a shame if my right hand ended up getting gray here before me."

Jovani brushed a hand through the other's hair as he walked by almost as though checking to make sure everything looked dark still.

"You're always going to be the reason why my hair ends up turning gray. Whether because of this situation or another, it'll be the same." Jovani chuckled in response to the comment. Though Alonso couldn't see the other, he heard as his boss bit into the apple.

"If that's going to be the cause, I guess I might want to think about pushing things forward so you can consider getting any early retirement."

Early retirement? Would that ever actually be an option for him? Even if Jovani handed things over, there was still his rather naïve younger cousin who would need to be watched.

Certainly nowhere near as bad as Jovani but still a problem child in his own right.
