When Jovani told Samuel that they needed to talk, the latter wasn't expecting his cousin to say as much as he did. It seemed that he wanted to ensure everything would be okay while he was gone.

The older cousin didn't indicate if there was anything specific he was worried about, however. He just told his younger cousin a few important things to keep in mind. One was that he needed to keep in mind that Alonso was there for support. Another was that Lena still needed to have an eye kept on her.

"What do you mean by that?" Samuel asked. Lena in his mind seemed to be preoccupied with what everything going to do anything he'd need to watch.

"You say that, but trust me when I say that she still might decide to do something reckless." Jovani informed the other.

"We agreed to wait to do anything until tomorrow. I'm not sure so though that she'll keep that agreement up if she isn't able to sleep."

"You mean to say that you told her something that could create a problem?" Samuel clarified, glancing over at the hospital room door to ensure that no one was coming in.

"Good question." Jovani sighed.

"At the time, I didn't think so. With that one though, it is hard to tell what is going through her mind from one moment to the next. I just think that you should be mindful."

"How long are you going to be gone for?" Samuel then asked, shifting the conversation to his cousin.

"I don't think that I should be gone too long. It is hard to tell as there are a number of things I need to tend to." The older man replied. He shifted position as he turned to face the office door to take the weight off his injured shoulder.

"We both should have our phones with us. If not, I will send someone by with a spare for you to use. I don't know how much I will be able to talk, but I'll do my best to update you." Jovani turned back around to face the other before suddenly reaching out to ruffle his hair.

"This probably isn't the best introduction to the mafia life right after engagement, but the unpredictable can happen. Try not to let it get under your skin too much. There is still a lot that we need to do after this." He informed his younger cousin. He would have given the other a hug but didn't want to risk getting blood on him.

"By that, I presume you mean the initiation?" Jovani chuckled at this question.

"One of many things." He replied.

"I was actually planning on stealing you for a while again. You and I have done a lot together, but there is still more training you need. I know that the princess is taking care of some of that, but I have another place in mind that would be perfect."

"You will probably have to clear that with her beforehand. She would probably want to come along after what happened the last time we were together." Samuel remarked. Jovani was quick to brush him off over this.

"This and that are two different things. The princess doesn't need to worry about anything bad like that happening so long as you're with me. Now that everything is sorted out, I will make sure that nothing happens." The Vedova Nera man assured him.

"Enough of that for right now though. You need to get back there with them and I need to leave. Keep in mind what I said though.".

Jovani made sure that his cousin left ahead of him so that he could take a moment to collect him. Richard was still going to have to be dealt with before left. He could hope that the other man would have left before him, it was highly unlikely though.

Now that the adrenaline was wearing off, everything was feeling so much worse for Jovani. Not only did the injury on his shoulder hurt but his head was throbbing now too. If Alonso had any idea bout what was going on, he would certainly blame his injury for this.

Jovani wasn't bleeding out from such a small wound. He was educated enough about injuries to know that. His issue was aligned with him not having eaten anything and the stress that had piled up all day.  If there was anything else going on, it would have been tied to him being stuck outside in the heat for too long.

He had been through worse though. A little bit of heat like today wasn't bad enough to phase him or so he thought. Even if it did, he would just shake it off. Just like he was going to shake off that annoying mafia man he was certain was still hanging around.

No use in wasting any more time at the hospital. Now that he had told Samuel what he needed, it was time to get busy with the important stuff. Being the boss meant that Jovani was allowed to do reckless things if he wanted to. Jovani intended to use that time to benefit him the most.

Jovani wasn't surprised to see that Richard decide to linger around the outside of the hospital instead of waiting inside.

"Are you planning on leaving or is there going to be more problems?" Jovani asked the moment that he spotted the other.  Richard ignored him at first in favor of lighting up his cigarette.

"There were never any problems to begin with." He replied before taking a deep drag of the cigarette.

"If there were, it was only on your side. I only came to lend my support to a family friend and you happened to be there. Nothing more, nothing less." Jovani fixed Richard with a hard stare in response to his words.

"You might be good at getting other people to believe you so quickly. With me, you'll quickly find that it doesn't work so easy. If you're going to end up working with younger my cousin, I expect you to keep that in mind."

"Another cousin. What a perplexing situation to be in. I would have thought you'd have nixed the idea from the start." Richard mused as he stepped away from the hospital door.

"If I had known it was you at the start, I would have. Now though, it is up to Sam to choose what he wants to do. You on the hand need to keep in mind what I saw and watch yourself."

Jovani wasn't quick to shed blood except for when it came to family. Very much like the princess, there was little he wouldn't do to ensure their safety.
