The last thing that Lena had expected when she woke up was to be in the hospital. Especially when she remembered right before this that everyone was waiting for updates as to what exactly was going on and where everyone was.

It would have been a lie for her to say that she had expected something like this from Samuel. It seemed though that he had really been spending too much time with his older cousin and picking up some tricks from him.

Staring at her father in the hospital bed, she didn't know if it was better for her to have awoken to this or have known what was going on from moment to moment.

Based on what she could put together from the short time she had been awake for, it seemed that things hadn't exactly turned out great, but the person responsible for saving her father was one of the last people she would have relied on for such a thing.

Not only that, but he had also been injured in the process yet was treating the whole thing like it wasn't that big of a deal.

The princess sighed as she closed her eyes. There was too much going on right at the current time for her to be able to easily process it all. Not to mention it was giving her a throbbing headache.

"Do you need something to drink? You look like you're in worse shape than me." Jovani asked when he noticed the expression on the other's face.

"You're the last person who should be asking me that. You need to go and get yourself treated rather than standing there and letting that wound bleed out." The princess replied without opening her eyes.

Her tone sounded more tired and less assertive than she had wanted for it to come across.

It wasn't entirely unexpected with everything that had happened today. No one in that room probably had the energy for much of everything but they were doing their best to pull it together.

"I already told you that it isn't that bad. I will get it taken care of later when I get back home. Alonso doesn't need to know about this anyways." Jovani replied.

"I already cleaned it up myself anyways. You on the other hand should get something to drink. You have been sleeping for quite a while now and after this, some water would probably help you."

He glanced back at Romeo hoping the other would understand that he wanted him to be the one to go and request water so that the Vedova Nera man and the princess could be left alone for a few moments.

The guard didn't seem all that thrilled to comply but didn't refuse the silent request when Jovani kept staring at him.

"What else do you have to tell me that could be worse than this?" Lena asked once Romeo had left the room. Of course, she would be quick to still pick on things even in her current state of mind.

If anything, she could probably actually do it better since she was already on high alert.

"Nothing worse to do with your family. Clive and Leo are alright as of right now. Nothing serious seems to be wrong with them. We are just waiting for them to wake up in order to be sure." Jovani replied. Wincing slightly as he allowed his arm to drop to a more comfortable position.

The injured skin protested this, but he knew that it was going to hurt even more if he kept holding it in the same position for too long.

"Everyone who is responsible for what you see right here has been dealt with. There are still a few people left that we are going to question." Jovani continued to explain as he walked over to take a seat in the empty chair. Samuel had been using it before but he figured that the other could handle standing for a while if he came back before they were finished speaking.

"I don't want to say that this is part of something bigger that we need to be worried about. I don't think that it has anything to do with my cousin, but I do think that there is something strange going on here."

"Strange how? Do you know which group they belong to?" Lena opened her eyes to look at him when she asked this question.

The steady beeping in the background was making it hard to focus on what the other was saying, but she needed to know what his thoughts were.

"My men who didn't come here with us should be looking for clues right now. I don't know that they will turn up anything. But if there is something there to be found, they will find it." Jovani assured her.

"They are certainly part of the mafia based upon the tattoos that they have. They don't match with the dead man that we are still looking into. They also don't seem to match with the one that the Vedova Nera us for close outside family members." He clarified with a sigh.

"It might take a little while to find out depending on cooperative or not the other men we took captive are. We haven't done anything with them yet because I thought that with the way everything has turned out that you might want to be involved?"

It was a mixture between a statement and a question. He wasn't wrong for thinking that way.

"I would be rather annoyed if you hadn't thought to ask me and did what you please considering this involves my family." The princess replied as she glanced back over at her father. He still hadn't even moved an inch since she had woken up.

"Our family I think that you mean. You two might only be engaged right now, but that makes you close enough to be blood as far as I'm concerned." Jovani corrected her.

"Not to mention that with the current state of things, it seems like you're going to have to be the one to take the place of your father and be there for the induction ceremony. As much as I would like to be able to put it off until everything has sorted itself out, I don't think that would be wise."

"You think that it is possible that he might become the next target?" The princess could see the logic behind this process. Her uncle and Samuel were the only two people near her that hadn't been targeted yet.

Julius though was the one that she knew that she didn't need to worry about. Her uncle could easily handle himself.

Jovani didn't get a chance to answer the question before there was a knock on the door and someone unexpected that caused him to scowl decided to invite themselves into the room without waiting for permission.
