Zane's head was throbbing and he was hardly able to see right. It hurt to open his eyes but he knew that he needed to in order to determine where he was at.

He was fairly certain by the bump and tumble that the car had gone off the road and over the ledge. He was lucky that Clive despite losing control managed to move it in such a way that prevented it from completely flipping over.

The situation was still not a good one however.

Zane was pinned by his seatbelt which made it hard for him to determine if the driver was still alive. He only knew that he was unconscious like Leo.

Even though the mafia boss had tried to shield him, the latter had still suffered a rather bad knock to the head when the car turned on it's side. He likely would have gone through the window if he didn't have his seatbelt on.

Zane closed his eyes and took in a deep breath. He didn't know who had hit the car but he had a feeling that they would potentially come back if they didn't think they'd done their.

Being the only one conscious meant that he had to make sure the three of them were safe. The first step of that would be assessing his own injuries and seeing if he could get free of his seatbelt.

He knew that his phone was a no go. It flew out of his hands and broke through the window when he had grabbed Leo. The other two phones he was unsure of where they were.

Except for a cut on his head, he didn't seem to be bleeding anywhere else. On the other hand, his left shoulder had been banged up pretty and he was certain at least two ribs were broken.

He likely had a mild concussion as well judging from how badly his vision kept swimming and the annoying headache plus ringing in his ears.

"Just one step at a time." He murmured under his breath as he felt around for the lock of his seatbelt.

He could just by feel that it was jammed pretty bad. It had been crushed by weight and jerking of the vehicle. He could potentially get it open if he fiddled with it long enough, but he needed a quicker solution.

Leaning forward as much as he could, he fumbled around under the seat until he found what he was looking for. He was glad that he listened to Clive when the other insisted he equips each vehicle with a hidden compartment to keep small weapons in.

Zane was very grateful for the small knife that he pulled out before closing the compartment again. He winced as he leaned back, his ribs didn't like him to compress his body the way he just had. He would have to be careful as possible in order to not make his injuries worse than they already were.

Now that he had the knife, he was going to be able to cut himself free. First, though, he had to brace his body so that he didn't fall atop Leo who was positioned on the side of the vehicle that was touching the ground.

It was a bit of a challenge in the current position, but he could make it work. The mafia boss was too stubborn to allow for it to not work.

Once the seatbelt was off, he could move more easily the way that he needed to. The first two things that he needed to take of were making sure that both Leo and Clive were as okay as they could be in the current situation and figuring out how to get everyone out of the car.

Being unconscious was not a good sign in and of itself, but the mafia boss had to double-check in order to make sure that neither of them had any serious injuries. He wouldn't be able to move them anywhere if they did.

Clive seemed to have taken the worst amount of damage as the driver. The airbag had helped cushion his face but not the back of his head or chest which likely had hit the steering wheel pretty hard before the airbag had been deployed. It was hard to tell about much else with the other still being unconscious.

For Leo, it seemed that he was in a rather similar position with a potential concussion and damage to his left shoulder and left side of his face at least.

Zane ran a hand through his hair as he looked at both sides of the car. He was going to need to get out on the side that was to his right. There was no other option as far as he could tell since the other was against the ground.

The glass part of the window had been broken from the impact which made his job slightly easier. It would still be a trial though for him to manage to get out of it without hurting himself.

He could do it though. He had managed to fit himself through tighter spaces in the past, it just required a little bit of time and patience to do it successfully. He was going to need far more of both this time around with the amount of pain that he was in.

Zane already knew that he didn't have a lot of energy to move with his injuries which left little room for mistakes or failure. He was going to have to make everything he did count and do it the first time around.

Everyone else in the car was relying on him to be the one to make sure that they got saved. Playing sitting duck wasn't an option when it came to that. Lena would likely know what was going on, but she was the last person that he would want to come and rescue here.

He didn't know until he got out of the car if there was any worry about anyone having stayed behind or come back after shooting the car off the road. At least Zane had brought his gun with him so he wouldn't be completely defenseless should there be people still waiting for anyone to get out of the car.

The mafia boss could only hope that the fact that no one had come to poke around the car yet meant that he didn't need to worry about anything of the sort. He needed to be able to move quickly. With none around however, he would be able to do it at a pace that worked best for him and would allow him to do everything right.

He would need to trust in the luck that had allowed him to get to where he had gotten thus far. He just needed that luck to work for him one more time in this situation.
