Chapter 886 T.D.O.N.B: Armageddon 2.0

I ducked down instinctively, but since nothing came flying my way, I decided to have a look for a tiny bit longer. Enough to realize that they all were focused on the tower itself, and had no idea I was down there.

Why? Well, now I know the reason, but back then I had no idea.

Since they weren't doing anything I was unsure if I should get closer. The numbers were on their side, not to mention the fact they were actually in the city, which meant that they were stronger than what I encountered before.

I wasn't sure if I should try to fight them.

"Maybe they were the ones who pushed Ixa away?", I asked myself.

Despite the worry, I had to make a decision. Either turn around to come back later, stronger, or go there and try my luck. I knew that I was powerful, the question was if I was powerful enough. The worries wouldn't leave my mind, but I wasn't really worrying about myself. I was worrying about the Arc.

Then I realized if they actually were the ones who pushed Ixa away, they didn't go to chase after her. They decided to probably return and stare at the damn tower. This meant I didn't have to be worried that they would go out there, eventually finding the city I cared about. I could just attack them.

This lit the fire that haven't been burning inside of me for a very long time. I got excited. I was once again about to dance on the edge of the sword, between life and death. I almost forgot the feeling. It gave me the kick I needed to get.

So I activated all my skills, turning the vicinity into a dark place filled with food essence, enclosed by the tall walls of raging darkness, and jumped up. Since my eardrums regenerated by that point, they almost immediately got blown up again, so I got deaf.

This got me all the attention I could ask for, and, unfortunately, more.

As the ghosts, all at once turned around, all the rubble around also started flying, picked up by telekinetic powers, probably multiple ones.

Some had strange weaponry spawn around them out of nowhere. I noticed a few massive broad swords, taller than me. Bunch of spiked balls of steel able to easily crush a house, and other weird shapes.

Others just shoot lasers at me. White from the pure hot energy, melting the rubble which happened to be between them and me.

A few lightning added themselves to the mix.

It was a fraction of a second when it all happened at once. I responded too, shadow walking forward like a madman, trying to close the distance while avoiding as many attacks as I could. Despite my best efforts, I got hit by a few, but my barrier endured.

I got close to one of the, then just swung my pudao hoping for the best, but the attack got blocked by the barrier he was protecting himself with. The sheer power of impact pushed other attacks away from me, shoving the nearby ghosts further too.

Since my attack didn't work I immediately repositioned to hit the target from a different angle, this time dipping into the 'Indomitable'. It was twice as hard, so it broke through, but he then used a very strong telekinetic push to stop my blade. Just the wind it pushed was enough to send him flying. He smashed into the ground below, while I got struck by multiple other attacks.

All the rubble was flying my way, so it became hard to even move with so much stuff in the air. I had to shadow walked a lot. There was no way I could localize the ones responsible for maneuvering the rubble, so I just tried to get to the closest one.

I tried to get him with a powerful slash, but he was actually faster and slammed the spiked ball into me before I could properly swing. My barrier endured the attack, but I still got pushed away, not to mention the fact that my hand was practically blocked. I shadow walked to stick to him, and instead punched him with my free hand.

He exploded like a bug that hit the windshield of a race car as it goes at its max speed.

Then I got blasted too, by all the shit which went flying my way. I was overwhelmed, even with shadow walking. I attempted to jump through the rubble with that damn skill but only found myself in the middle of more marble and gold.

It was just tons upon tons upon tons of garbage. So much that you couldn't pass through. I had no other way but to get away, so I jumped all the way to the marked spot close to Aaraam'soturi.

- Fuck! - I yelled out of anger, before launching myself back at the city.

I passed the dome surrounding it, finding myself among the gold and marble once again. Fortunately, it was laying on the ground as it was supposed to be. Well... At least for a second or maybe two, because it started to be picked up again. I didn't see the ghosts, though, but they definitely were moving toward me.

I went to meet them halfway, jumping from a piece of stone to a piece of stone. Decimating each one I pushed myself away from, and also all the stuff in the immediate vicinity.

Half a second later I could see the black dot's on the horizon. Well... They didn't stay black for too long. They actually started changing color, as they also started attacking.

Some went white, some red, and some blue. A few stayed the same.

What's more important, armageddon restarted. I could either try to get to them before they got to me, or escape. I chose the first option, charging at full speed. Using every trick I had to go faster, to collide with them before they could shoot me down.
