C22 – Show Me Some Respect

For a split second, countless thoughts flashed through his mind.

Liu Yuan had never expected that Gu Siyin would show up just when Ning Xiangrong was here.

He knew he had to deal with them eventually, but he didn’t expect that the moment would come so soon.

This whole thing had caught him completely off-guard.

For a while, which seemed like ages, the three of them just stood there.

Gu Siyin was holding a plate of snacks.

Snap…

The plate fell to the ground.

The snacks rolled around in the dust.

Startled, Ning Xiangrong let go of her hands and turned around. When she saw the look on Gu Siyin’s face, her heart was filled with suspicion.

The emotions in the girl’s eyes weren’t like something a disciple would have towards her master, but more like… a woman towards a man.

Ning Xiangrong’s intuition told her that something was wrong.

Liu Yuan frowned as he walked over to pick up the snacks. He then scratched his head and tried to explain, “Siyin, just now I was…”

He paused, not really knowing what to say next.

Should he say this was just an accident? That he accidentally placed his hands on the waist of another woman who threw herself at him?

Then Ning Xiangrong would definitely go mad.

Or should he say that he saw her merely as his younger sister and nothing more, and that he did not want to marry her at all?

Then Gu Siyin would get furious for sure.

Or should he just tell the truth?

Then probably both women would want to skin him alive.

Liu Yuan froze on the spot, his mind racing.

Gu Siyin’s eyes turned red and soon welled up with tears. She slightly nodded her head and pursed her lips, murmuring, “I… I will try to understand you, Brother Junxuan…”

Before she could finish her words, large drops of tears had flowed down her fair cheeks.

Liu Yuan was at his wit’s end. The girl was so obedient and considerate, and that was what made her so lovable.

But of course, at the beginning of the game, Gu Siyin was arrogant and overbearing. However, as her favorability points towards Liu Yuan grew higher, he found that, once the girl fell for someone, she would get emotionally attached and extremely obedient.

She would be just like a tamed canary.

Liu Yuan’s heart melted when he saw the pitiful look on the girl’s face.

He tried his best to calm his emotions. He did not want to hurt her. He leaned over to wipe the tears off her face and said seriously and firmly, “Siyin, listen, I will never break my promise to you. Trust me.”

Gu Siyin nodded, “I know… I know you would never lie to me.”

“I’m just a little bit sad… just a little bit,” she added in a soft voice.

The girl showed him with her fingers.

She could accept that Liu Yuan had more than one lovers, but not too many.

Seeing that the girl was coping well, Liu Yuan sighed in relief. He put the snacks back into the plate and gently stroked her head, “You know about the story between Rong Rong and me, right?”

She knew, and she tried really hard not to say anything just now in the hall. But now that she actually saw them hugging each other, this just broke her heart.

Gu Siyin puffed up her cheeks and said in a low voice, “I know… I just brought you some snacks. I made them myself… but they are all ruined now.”

Liu Yuan found the girl really adorable.

He looked at the glutinous rice balls on the plate. They did not look very inviting; besides, they were now tainted by dust. But one could still tell that the girl had put a lot of efforts in making these snacks.

Liu Yuan easily removed the dust with a magic spell.

“It’s fine. You know, we can eat something that fell on the floor as long as it’s picked up within five seconds. I can’t stand to let your handmade snacks go to waste.”

Liu Yuan put one glutinous rice ball into his mouth.

Gu Siyin was stunned and then quickly snatched the plate over, anxiously trying to stop Liu Yuan from eating, “But they are already dirty! Spit it out!”

But Liu Yuan swallowed it instead and even licked his lips, “Hmm… It tastes alright.”

The girl’s eyes immediately lit up, “Really? It’s my first attempt. I’m so glad you like it!”

But then she pulled a long face, “Even so, you shouldn’t just eat something that’s fallen on the ground. You might get sick.”

Despite her reproachful look, her eyes were still filled with joy and pride.

This whole time Ning Xiangrong was staring at them and she suddenly said, “Do you like him?”

Liu Yuan’s heart skipped a beat.

He had just calmed Gu Siyin down, and now he had to deal with Ning Xiangrong.

She must be much more difficult to please than Gu Siyin. This woman treated Liu Yuan as the one and only love of her life, so it was very likely that she would want him to do the same!

Liu Yuan nervously observed the expressions on their faces, trying as hard as he could to maintain a calm smile.

Calm as he might seem, he was cursing like crazy in his heart.

Gu Siyin knew that for now Brother Junxuan and she had to pretend to be master and disciple, so she had to put on an act to convince others. Hence, she glared fiercely at Ning Xiangrong and retorted, “Are you kidding? I don’t like him at all!”

She was in love! She loved him!

The young girl felt proud of her quick response, but she was also afraid that Liu Yuan might take her words seriously, so she turned her head and cast a loving look at the young man, hoping to convey her true feelings.

Liu Yuan replied with a reassuring smile.

Naturally the character’s favorability points towards him had decreased a bit.

But on the bright side, sometimes the favorability points could be used as a way to tell if someone was telling the truth.

That being said, Liu Yuan wouldn’t dare to risk losing their favorability points.

Hearing this, Ning Xiangrong said lightly, “That’s good to know, because I like him.”

Gu Siyin pouted, “So what? What does it have to do with me?”

Ning Xiangrong smiled, “Well, don’t you think you should show me some respect and call me Mistress?”

That was a huge blow to Gu Siyin.

The girl glared at Ning Xiangrong, her eyes wide open with disbelief and anger, “You and Brother Junxuan are not married yet! Why should I call you Mistress?”

The young girl gritted her teeth as if she was ready to bite Ning Xiangrong any second.

Damn it! This witch was really going too far!

“Hmm… you are right.”

Ning Xiangrong seemed very understanding as she nodded her head, but then she curled her lip and said, “But you are wrong about one thing.”

Gu Siyin frowned, not knowing what tricks she was going to play this time.

Ning Xiangrong looked at Liu Yuan and said slowly, “Since he is your master, it’s improper for you to call him Brother Junxuan. You should call him Master Junxuan.”

She intentionally pronounced every word loud and clear.

Gu Siyin was on the very edge of losing her temper.

Liu Yuan could almost see the girl going mad.

Indeed, mortals were no match for immortal cultivators…

Gu Siyin’s eyes were filled with tears again, “Master… Junxuan…”

Her voice died down, and suddenly she burst out crying out loud and ran away.

The afternoon sun was shining bright and the leaves were rustling in the breeze.

Liu Yuan wanted to chase after the girl, but he had to force himself to stop.

This “conflict” started and ended all so quickly. It seemed easier than Liu Yuan had imagined, but he knew clearly that the war between Ning Xiangrong and Gu Siyin had been on, and today was just the start.

Now Liu Yuan and Ning Xiangrong were alone with each other again.

As their hug had been interrupted, the loving, warm vibes between the two of them had been gone.

Liu Yuan sighed, “It’s late. I will show you out.”

Ning Xiangrong snorted as she walked closer towards Liu Yuan and poked him on the forehead, “Tell me, how many girls have you been flirting with in the past three years, huh?”
