CH 65

After returning from the aquarium, I thought back on the events of the day.

First of all, Chinatsu and Takuto were able to make up with each other. I hoped I was able to repay my debt to them, even if a little, for all their help.

The second was the date with Kaede. Even though it was just the four of us, I thought it was worth it just to see Kaede having so much fun and just enjoying herself.

“Ren-kun? You’ll catch a cold if you sleep here.”

I was in a sleeping position on the sofa while thinking that, but Kaede told me that I would catch a cold in that position and woke me up.

“I’m not a child”

“Nope~, You are still a child, Ren-kun.”

“Really now”

“It’s also cute when you look away.”

Saying that, Kaede stared at me. I was looking at her sideways, but I didn’t want to look in her direction.

Because if I look into Kaede’s eyes, my face will turn red anyway, and Kaede will call me cute again.

But there was no sign of her going anywhere.

(Maybe she’s waiting for me to make eye contact with her?)

No, no, even Kaede wouldn’t think that.

While I was struggling with this, I suddenly turned my attention towards Kaede.

Then our eyes met with a snap.

“You finally looked at me”

And as soon as our eyes met, she smiled and said

“Stop it,…, I can’t take it anymore.”

“What are you talking about? I’m going to prepare dinner.”

Kaede said so and headed for the kitchen.

I knew it. By the time I thought that, My face was already red.

(It’s so hot, I might have caught a cold already…)

Thinking so, I touched her cheek and found it hot again.

“Sorry, I was a little late serving the dinner. Are you hungry?”

“I’m just getting hungry”

“Then let’s eat it while it’s hot!”

We both clasped our hands together and said, “Itadakimasu,” before filling our mouths with the food Kaede had prepared.

It was so hot that it almost burned my tongue, but the taste was more than enough to overcome that.

“You really are a good cook.”

“T-Thank you very much.”

“You will definitely make a great wife.”

“W-Wife….”

Definitely. I don’t know how good the other high school students are, but Kaede’s cooking is very good.

Kaede, for some reason, was looking up at my face with her face in her hands.

“What are you doing?”

“I-It’s hot!”

“Yeah, it’s hot enough to burn your tongue if you don’t let it cool down before eating.”

“Ren-kun said something strange to me…”

“What? Did I say something strange?”

“Mou~, Enough!”

Kaede said, “That’s just the way it is,” and then silently ate her dinner.

Reflecting back on my comment, I don’t know if she was embarrassed or not, but I just knew that Kaede had reacted to the word “wife”.

(If I had such a lovely wife, I would work hard in the future.)

With these thoughts in mind, I was thinking alone as I ate my meal about my fantasy of Kaede greeting me at the door when I returned home after work.

While Looking at Kaede, I thought,

(I really do love you, huh?)

Thinking this, I resumed eating again.

After the dishes were done, Kaede sat down next to me.

“What’s up?”

“I just thought I hadn’t done it yet.”

“What?”

“Pampering.”

Saying that, Kaede looked at me and slowly approached with a small devilish smile.

“N-No!”

“I did say that, you know?”

“Yeah, You did say that…”

I thought to myself, “S**t, Whatever I’ll just let her do what she wants” and then I braced myself, but nothing happened.

When I fearfully opened my eyes, Kaede had stopped dead in her tracks.

“What exactly should I do to pamper you?”

“Why don’t you do something that will make that person happy?”

“Then what would make you happy, Ren-kun?”

I honestly didn’t think there was anything particular that I didn’t like about what Kaede was doing to me.

In fact, I was pleased with everything Kaede did for me.

“Then I want to see Ren-kun’s face…”

“E-Eh?”

“It’ll be a lap pillow! You can’t refuse!”

With that said, my punishment was decided to be a lap pillow.
