Indulgence (1)

After Wen Yu and Jiang Yuhe were together for a long time, she felt that there was a regret between the two. They had never really experienced the fun between lovers.

For example, eating in a corner street together, going shopping, watching a movie or something of the like.

They used to spend too much time together as ‘brother and sister’, and then jumped directly to the relationship between husband and wife. After their marriage, Jiang Yuhe did spoil her. He bought her custom luxury cars and a yacht in her name without blinking an eye.

Nevertheless, they seemed to have never personally experienced the behavior that should belong to a couple passionately in love.

In other words, they haven’t done anything grounded in this relationship.

Wen Yu also pouted in front of Jiang Yuhe once. “I want to go out with Brother so much.”

Of course, she was just saying it. She never tried to force anything.

She was aware how busy Jiang Yuhe was. He often worked overtime on weekends, and he always had to travel several times a month, flying all over the country.

She knew his love, but also consciously hid these in the bottom of her heart. She mentioned it only once.

But Jiang Yuhe kept it in mind.

This afternoon, he specially finished his work in advance, and asked Secretary Ning to book movie tickets.

Coincidentally, almost all of the Mandarin movies in theaters right now were produced or invested by Yasheng, and Jiang Yuhe knew the plot himself.

He didn’t know what kind of movies Wen Yu liked to watch, but he thought that since they were dating, watching romance movies was definitely the right thing to go.

So after seeing a foreign movie called ‘Goodnight Lovers’, he decided to reserve two tickets.

When the time came, Jiang Yuhe went to pick up Wen Yu from work. Wen Yu thought they would go straight home as usual, but Jiang Yuhe drove the car to the cinema where he proposed before.

Wen Yu looked confused. “What are we here for?”

“To watch a movie.”

“…”

Wen Yu thought she heard wrong. “Us?”

Jiang Yuhe parked the car, rubbed her head, and responded in a pampering child-like tone, “It’s a date with your brother.”

“!!!”

The sudden surprise made Wen Yu’s heart burst with joy. She got out of the car and followed Jiang Yuhe while holding his hand.

“Really?”

“What movie are we going to watch?”

“Goodnight Lovers”

‘What a guy.’

Wen Yu stood there frozen on the spot.

Jiang Yuhe looked at her. “What’s wrong?”

Wen Yu smiled and blinked her eyes twice. “Do you know what this movie is about?”

“Isn’t it a romance movie?”

“…It is.” Wen Yu smiled inexplicably and restrained herself again. “It’s nothing, let’s go.”

Jiang Yuhe didn’t care what the movie was about. All that mattered to him was coming to watch a movie with Wen Yu.

It seemed like a ritual, a ritual that should have been done when they were in a relationship, but it was so late.

He just wanted to make up for Wen Yu’s regret.

As for what the movie was about, he really didn’t care.

The two arrived at the cinema on the seventh floor.

There were few people who came to watch the movie, but there were about two dozen of them, and that was why everyone was scattered just right.

Almost all the people who came to watch it were couples, sitting together in pairs.

Because they bought the tickets on short notice, Wen Yu and Jiang Yuhe’s seats were a little bit behind.

The cinema was dimly lit, and they were wearing masks, so they kept a low profile.

The two of them sat down in the back row and waited quietly for the movie to start.

Not long after, the lights of the cinema hall were completely extinguished, and the movie began to play on the big screen.

The first thing that appeared was a row of English-like quotes. Jiang Yuhe swept a glance, which probably meant…

“This is a love story where countless people will shed tears while watching it.”

Seeing this sentence, Jiang Yuhe remembered how Wen Yu wanted to say something in the parking lot earlier.

Was it because it was a tear-jerking romance film?

With that question in mind, the main film slowly began to tell.

At first it was nothing. It was the normal direction of a romance movie, but after watching for almost half an hour, Jiang Yuhe’s face turned more and more wrong.

It seemed like a familiar story that was performed in a different language.

Halfway through the movie, when the male protagonist could not restrain himself from forcibly kissing the female protagonist, the female audience in the cinema squealed.

Jiang Yuhe couldn’t tell whether their squeals were excitement or something else.

But the look on his face was somewhat unnatural.

Wen Yu turned to him and asked, “Do you brothers act like this in the grip of passion?”

“…”

Who would have thought that after the original Korean version of Smutty Love of Life and Death was adapted into the Mandarin version, there would be a Vietnamese version, and a Japanese version one after the other? Even today, it was popular all over the world so it was adapted into different versions.

It was just that adaptation was not as bloodthirsty; there were no more substantial blood relations; the male and female protagonists became siblings in a reorganized family.
