[Predicament]

When the windstorm that the《Megiddo Explosion》 created subsides, Dimol, seeing the opponent’s opening, lowers Noelia to the ground.

“Frick-sama, are you okay?” (Noelia)

“Y-yeah. I’m okay. I’m okay, but——” (Frick)

While answering Noelia’s question, I move my eyes to the spot that has become the center of super high heat and windstorm.

At the location where the monster was, the heat remaining on the ground surface burns the surroundings, and smoke rises, seething.

“With such power, it must be dead, right?” (Frick)

“P-probably not… I think I can see a figure in that smoke…” (Noelia)

“To still be alive even after being hit by that, are you kidding me…!?” (Frick)

I can see a huge figure inside the seething smoke.

When the smoke eventually fades, that figure becomes clear.

Half of its face is destroyed, but I don’t see any signs of its life activities stopping.

The monster spots me with its one eye[1], before leaking a groan and begin to rush this way.

“Frick-sama, it’s coming! Its condition is strange, so please be careful!” (Noelia)

“Yeah, I know, but——” (Frick)

Although she can set up a barrier with magic, I must not let those guys, who have the power to break it in one shot, to get close to Noelia.

“Noelia, please give me support from behind. Dimol, too, please pick up Noelia if those guys come close.” (Frick)

“Frick-sama——” (Noelia)

“Kuee!”

After leaving Noelia to Dimol, I ready Dayle, and start running toward the incoming monster.

Running towards it is all good, but it doesn’t change the fact that I can’t cut through its skin with sword.

I wonder how I can bring down the guy who is still alive even when half of its face destroyed……

Although I close the distance with the enemy, I only feel confused at the strangely high vitality of the opponent.

“Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!”

The monster’s attack is less accurate than it was at the beginning, and it becomes easier to avoid it.

Seeing an opening, I send a slash, but the skin is really thick, the blade can’t cut into it and only slips on the surface.

“Dammit, it’s too tough.” (Frick)

“Frick-sama, I’ll support you! O’ solid stone sleeping in the ground, intersect with the atmosphere, form a spiral, and pierce mine enemy! ‘Spiral Bullet’.” (Noelia)

When Noelia, holding up her staff, finishes chanting, a sharp stone emerges from the ground; it draws a spiral vortex in the air and shoots straight at the monster’s chest at a tremendous speed.

“It penetrated——!?” (Frick)

“However, it’s not a fatal injury!” (Noelia)

Although it hit the part where its heart is, which would mean an instant death for a normal person, the monster is still moving while shedding a large amount if green blood.

“Shit, shit, Genociders! Ignore the decoys and kill Frick!”

“Ah— someone sure is noisy. I’ll go catch that one. That guy is most likely controlling the monsters. My intuition is always right after all~.” (Cinzia)

Cinzia, perching on Noelia’s shoulder, mutters in a relaxed voice, before fluttering across the place where the monsters and I are fighting, and lands on a tree near the white-robed man in the back.

“Clad in my mana, take the form of human. Summon Golem.” (Cinzia)

Soil golems spring up from the ground and surround the man.

“Eek! Stop! If you attack me, those monsters will kill you all! Do you understand what you’re doing?”

Seeing the golems slowly enclosing him, the man’s complexion becomes pale.

He’s flustered.

Does that mean he himself is not strong?

Cinzia, shrinking the encirclement of the golems, presses the man to stop the monsters.

“If you stop those monsters right now, I’ll stop them from twisting your neck. C’mon~, what’re you waiting for~.” (Cinzia)

The monsters seem to be worried about the crisis of the man, their instructor, as the pressure of their attack is considerably reduced.

“Stop, don’t get close! Genociders! Protect me! Get rid of these golems first!”

“Oh my~, are you sure with that? My golems can take your life before your cute monsters arrive, y’know~.” (Cinzia)

“You inhuman monster bird!”

The man curses at Cinzia, who is perching on a tree.

It seems the table has been turned.

Even the monsters have stopped moving after all.

At this rate, as long as we capture that guy——

“Ah, hey! Who are yo——Abyss Walkers!? How could you still surviv——!?” (Cinzia)

Cinzia, on the tree, suddenly begins to make a racket by herself.

She said Abyss Walkers, but——

Don’t tell me!?

“You won’t be able to touch my real body, it’s still 100 years too early for you! How dare you take the children hostage, you cowards! S-sorry, Frick, Noelia. The orphanage is——you’re kidding! My magic power is getting sucke—” (Cinzia)

After Cinzia’s bone bird that was convinced of victory on the tree fell and scattered apart, the golems surrounding the man could no longer maintain their figures and return to the ground.

“Cinzia-sama!?” (Noelia)

“She was saying something about the orphanage, did something happen to her real body!?” (Frick)

At the same time as Cinzia’s bone bird falls apart, a dazzling light shoots toward the sky from the orphanage.

When the man sees the light, he laughs loudly in an aberrant manner.

“Hyahahaaaaaaa! Vigo-sama did it! Now, as long as we get Frick and Noelia, our long-cherished desire would be fulfilled! All the obstacles have gone. Get them, Genociders!”

“You have a detached force!?” (Frick)

“Who knows. If you obediently throw down your weapons and surrender to us, I’ll tell you. Depending on your actions, the casualties will increase, though.”

Having overcame the crisis that came to himself, the man shows an oppressive attitude.

I glance at the orphanage that can be seen in the distance, but I couldn’t see the situation inside.

If I make a poor move, the hostages that seems to have been held by a detached force at the orphanage will be at risk.

That being said, we also can’t just give up like this.

We are put in a situation where we are unable to interfere.

[1]It actually says ‘remaining eye’, but since in the previous chapter Genocider was described as a one-eyed giant, I’m keeping it as one eye until we get further details.
