416 You'sre Just In Time

"Mom, I'm not suffering at all, thank you for bringing me into this world. The best thing that ever happened to me was being born as your daughter. Now that I've grown up, I no longer need your protection. I'll become so strong that no one will ever dare to take advantage of us."

Mama Lin instantly burst into tears and nodded through her tears. "Okay, Mom shall depend on Shiyu's protection from now on."

"Yes!"

Fu Qinglun stood right by the door, he had placed his large hand on the doorknob and his cold gaze landed on Lin Shiyu. This little girl who… promised to toughen up and protect her mother, his heart melted after hearing her words.

He had always known that he was in love with her but he didn't know to what extent. Now he knew, this girl had full control over his heart and feelings, she could stir up with his feelings whenever she wanted.

In actual fact, she didn't need to toughen up, that was because he would protect her.

He would do his best to protect her well in the future.

Mama Lin then lifted her head and saw Fu Qinglun, she hurriedly spoke up, "Qinglun, why are you standing by the door, hurry and come in."

Fu Qinglun stood tall beside the door, his entire body tense. A few seconds later, he cleared his throat before replying, "I've got it."

He shut the door with light movements and returned to the bench along the corridor. His long legs were crossed over each other and he took out a pack of cigarettes from his trouser pocket, placing one cigarette in his mouth.

He recalled the non-smoking policy in the hospital and frowned before fiddling with the lighter in his hands.

With his imposing figure masked in darkness, he seemed exceptionally lonely.

In the hospital ward.

Mama Lin berated Lin Shiyu softly, "Shi'shi, the baby is gone and Mom knows that you're upset about it, but Qinglun doesn't feel any better than you. How could you hurt him like that?"

Lin Shiyu didn't speak, she didn't tell her mother about Fu Qinglun pushing her out in exchange for Lu Qi'er's safety. She could only speak up with her face all pale. "Mom, I'm tired, I want to have some rest."

"No, you haven't eaten for two days, Mom will feed you some soup." Mama Lin's focus had shifted on her daughter again.

Lin Shiyu huddled up under the blankets listlessly and closed her eyes. "Mom, I'll just have a short nap first. I'll drink the soup after I wake up."

She fell asleep in no time and Mama Lin could only sigh and tuck in her daughter with the blanket.

Outside the ward, Mama Lin walked out and Fu Qinglun lifted his eyes. "Mom, has Shi'shi had anything to eat?"

"No, that girl wanted to have a nap and fell asleep after closing her eyes. Qinglun, Shi'shi is still grieving and so she was too harsh on you. Don't take her words to heart."

Fu Qinglun shook his head. "No, it's all my fault, I'll go in and take a look at her."

He then stretched his long legs out and entered the hospital ward.

The hospital ward was lit up with a faint yellow light and Lin Shiyu lay on her side, her delicate body covered under the blankets. All that was left exposed was her beautiful yet pale face. Perhaps she wasn't in pain anymore, or maybe it was the presence of her mother. She finally slept soundly.

Fu Qinglun sat by her bed, his gaze fixated on her tiny face without making a sound. He bent down and gave her a light kiss on her forehead.

Mama Lin stood outside the ward and when she saw the way Qinglun cared for Shi'shi, she was delighted. Shiyu's miscarriage this time made Mama Lin realize some things. When Shiyu was in pain, Fu Qinglun didn't have it better, he was equally hurt. When Shiyu didn't have much of an appetite, he followed suit and didn't have much to eat either. When Shiyu fell asleep, he would take a small breather and he never took a step outside the ward.

All along, he remained by Shiyu's side.

Mama Lin was pleased with her son-in-law, she had high hopes for him and wished that Shiyu would spend the rest of her life blissfully with Fu Qinglun.

But what would happen once Shiyu fell pregnant again?

Heirs and blood lineage were a big deal to wealthy and influential families, what would happen if Shiyu isn't able to give birth to children for the Fu family? Would they still accept her?

Mama Lin leaned against the wall and tears welled up in her eyes.

The next day, Lin Shiyu was discharged from the hospital.

Madam Fu and Mama Lin were packing up stuff in the hospital ward and Lin Shiyu wanted to get up. Madam Fu hurriedly stopped her. "Shiyu, don't move around recklessly, you're still in your confinement period. You should wait until Qinglun is done with the paperwork and have him carry you."

Madam Fu interlocked her arm with Mama Lin's. "In-law, you should come home with us and stay for awhile. Shiyu is having her confinement period now and you can use this opportunity to chat with her and keep your mind from boredom."

"Mom." Lin Shiyu looked at Madam Fu.

Madam Fu was delighted, Shiyu had a cold personality and didn't have the habit of using honeyed words. However, she was extremely intelligent, she was able to coax everyone well as long as she put her mind into it.

Madam Fu was pleased with her daughter-in-law and asked, "Shiyu, is there anything I can help you with?"

"Mom, I don't want to spend my confinement period in the Fu family, I want to go home with my mom and stay there." Lin Shiyu said.

"This…" Madam Fu paused for a moment.

Mama Lin took on a ghastly expression, her married daughter wanted to return home after her miscarriage, this would be confirmation of her separation with Fu Qinglun.
