The way his arm was wrapped so tightly around her waist, it felt like he was about to snap her in half.

An'an instantly started to inhale the fresh air when she had the chance to. Tears trickled down her face.

But Li Si stopped her from doing so. "An Xi, hold on."

An Xi stood outside the door and she couldn't figure out why Li Si stopped her. She sounded a little impatient. "Brother Li, hurry up and go in, we need to check on Brother Ah Yan. The rehabilitation has been so tough recently that he's starting to inflict self harm. I'm afraid that he'll hurt himself again before his old wounds even heal, so I tied him up. I went to get some anesthetic so that it'll lessen his pain temporarily, though it won't help with healing his drug addiction."

As the Assistant Commander of the Blood Forces, Li Si was calm and analytical, holding the position as the resident brain of the team.

He looked at An'an and let out a chuckle. "An Xi, don't worry. I'm sure that Yan Zi will be able to make it through this time."

An Xi was about to respond when she heard some moans.

It was coming from inside the room.

An Xi froze, the man inside the room was tough and never made any sounds even when he was in pain. He would just bite on something instead of making a sound, even when it was incredibly painful for him. She had never heard him moan before.

An Xi was almost thirty and she knew what that moan meant.

Her face started to turn red.

After awhile, Li Si knocked on the door. "Yan Zi."

A few moments later, a hoarse voice came out. "Come in."

Li Si pushed the door open and stepped into the room.

It was dark inside and Li Si walked over to turn on the lights, pushing open the windows to get some fresh air into the room.

"Yan Zi, how are you doing?" Li Si looked at the man on the bed.

An Xi had also walked over, lifting her eyes to look at Lu Yan, who was on the bed.

He had slumped against the bed frame and his fringe had covered his eyes. He lowered his head and hunched his back with a cigarette in one hand.

Lifting it to his lips, he started puffing on it.

An Xi's face was flushed as she looked at Lu Yan. He was naked on top and his body was covered in wounds. Though it appeared gruesome, it was also indescribably sexy and masculine at the same time.

He wore a pair of long pants below and his belt was unbuckled, the same went for his zipper, revealing a pair of black underwear inside.

There was a pile of tissues under his bed, he had just wiped himself with it.

An Xi bent down, picking up the tissues scattered across the floor.

"Yan Zi, you didn't self-harm to get through cold turkey this time round, so it's great progress. It seems like we've made the right decision to come to Miaojiang."

Lu Yan puffed on the cigarette. He had just relieved himself of the load and he wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone.

An Xi entered the bathroom and Li Si spoke in a softer voice. "Yan Zi, you can't continue being like this. You're already almost 38 years old, how can you not have a woman to take care of you? Stop fooling around outside, it's almost time for you to find a woman and build a family.

"Hurry up and build a family, give birth to your children. Have you forgotten that your mother has always yearned for a grandchild before she passed away? How are your parents going to rest in peace if you're going to remain single forever?"

Li Si had been friends with Lu Yan ever since they were young. They grew up in the same village and he knew Lu Yan was extremely filial.

Lu Yan still didn't reply, his fringe had covered his eyes and no one could read his expression. He furrowed his brows while smoking.

"Yan Zi, I saw someone familiar just now. That girl named An'an is also in Miaojiang."

Li Si tried to test the waters with Lu Yan. "If you really love that girl and want her, I'll go andー"
