Chapter 95 - Cheer Him Up

Name:When You Are Mine Author:Da_Rose
"Bro, wait!" Yelled a panting Blake who was running towards Jake. He had received a call from Jake asking him to come take their grandfather home. Jake continued on his strides without taking a moment to look at Blake.

"Jake wait, I'm sorry" Blake apologized as he pulled Jake by his forearm when he got close to him. Jake turned to look at Blake then at his arm which was been held.

"I said I'm sorry" Blake apologized sincerely. He has been at this since yesterday, but Jake had refused to listen to him. One thing he didn't like was his brother staying mad at him, he can never endure it. He understood perfectly why his brother was mad at him. He has truly behaved badly.

"Take grandfather home" Jake said in a cold tone. He didn't know if he was still angry at Blake or if it was something else that was probably riling him up right now. Jake freed his hand from Blake's grip and started to walk away. He had only taken a few steps when he suddenly paused, and Blake felt anxious suddenly, when he saw him turn to look him with a ferocious gaze in his eyes.

"You knew he was back, didn't you?" Jake asked more like a statement. He was sure Blake must have seen him, since he was certain that Kyle would come seek him out whenever he returned to the country. This has been the reason why he has never gone in search of Kyle, because he knew he'd deliver himself without him looking.

"Who?" Blake asked in confusion.

"Kyle" Jake replied. Blake heart skipped a beat. His mouth was gape but no words came out of it. He couldn't deny it neither could he accept that he had seen Kyle. Blake continued staring at Jake in stupefaction. How did Jake know about Kyle's return? Was this going to worsen his problem with Jake? Why didn't that fool listen to him and avoided showing up before Jake?

Jake's hands clenched into a fist, and his anger intensified when Blake didn't deny the fact that he had seen Kyle. Jake turned away and continued on his tracks.

"Jake" Blake panicked, he understood that look in Jake's eyes. He wanted to run after him, but stopped when someone gripped his hand tightly, surprised to see it was his grandfather who was shaking his head telling him not to.

"Leave him son" Grandfather said.

"B-but"

"He'll come back when he's a bit calm" Grandfather Beau assured him. "Let's go home" He added, patting his back lightly. Blake nodded his head obediently.

He gazed at his brother retreating figure and he felt a pang in his heart. Jake was carrying too much guilt, too much burden, and too responsibility. He wants to help his brother but he doesn't know how too.

Jake has hurt too much in this passing years, after their father's death. He carried the guilt that he brought the devil who killed their father in to their home. He hasn't stopped blaming himself for their father's demise. His only wish was for his brother to learn to forgive himself and find true happiness someday.

Blake sighed exasperatedly before leading his grandfather out of the hospital.

Jake hopped into his car, he floored the gas pedal and the car zoomed of in full speed. His thoughts were wandering everywhere. He couldn't help but think how he had brought Kyle into his family. How they have all accepted him, treated him like a family. He became more than a friend to him. Even his father and grandfather had accepted him as their son, and what did he do in return? Kyle betrayed them in the worst way possible, he knew their father was sick but he still betrayed him in such a way that he died, of an heart attack.

Jake's eyes were icy, there was so much pain, so much hatred, so much hurt and self guilt burning in them and he could feel his temperature rise as these feelings seeped throw his body. He kept driving aimlessly, with no destination in mind.

All he wanted right now, was to turn the car around and head back to the hospital, luckily he could still find Kyle there. His hands just wants to him, not just hit him, but kill him. Even though his mind keeps telling him nothing would come out of him killing Kyle, his father won't return back from his grave but he just can't let go. The weight of Kyle's betrayal was too much for him, and it was eating him up. Kyle broke his trust and he hasn't been the same since then.

He needed some sort of distraction at the moment, anything to take his mind away from wanting to kill Kyle at the moment. As if the heavens were in support of this, his phone started ringing. Jake was almost not interested in picking up his phone, but he decided to see who was calling him anyway. He was astounded when he saw the name on display on his phone screen. He has almost forgotten that he had an appointment with Jade Walker.

Silently staring at the phone, Jake couldn't decide if he should take her calls or not. Was he really in the right frame of mind to be with her right now? Something inside his heart was beginning to yearn to see her. Should he go or should he not? Jake didn't want to affect her with his mood.

But wait, since when did he start considering things like this? Jake was still lost in his thoughts and he didn't realize he had answered the phone.

"Hello, Mr Beau are you there?" Came Jade's voice for what seemed like the upteenth time. Jake jerked back to reality when he heard her speak.

"Yeah, I'm here" He replied.

"Well, I didn't know when you'll be ready, but I wanted to check with you if we're still on for today. I-I wouldn't like to go when it's late, so I won't come back home at night" Jade commented in a slowy and sluggish way, like she was been careful not to anger this man. Jake kept quiet for a couple of seconds, he was still contemplating if he should go, or probably cancel for the day.

"Mr Beau?" Jade called when she didn't get a respond from him.

"Sure, I'll be on my way now" Was all he could say.

"Okay. I'll be at the bus stop"

"Sure" He replied before Jade dropped the call from her end. Jake at his phone for a while, a myriad of thoughts were running through his mind at the moment and he doesn't know how to go about them.

First, there was Kyle who has suddenly popped out from nowhere and he wanted nothing more than to kill him and Hillary, who has been lurking around trying to undermine his authority. Those evil spawn, just decided to show up at the same time.

Secondly, there was Jade, the enigma in his current self. She has some how created a tornado in his heart and he still hasn't figured why she has such an effect on him. Recently he keeps finding himself doing things he has never done before or thought about before.

He turned on his ignition and started for the bus stop. Soon he was there and as usual he saw Jade sitting on the bench with her phone in hand. 'Is this girl that addicted to her phone?' He asked himself.

Yesterday, the only time Jade had dropped her phone was when they had started playing the game, and even on their way back she was still glued to it.

Jake stopped the car in front of her and honked to gain her attention. Jade slipped her phone into her bag and joined him in the car.

"Good afternoon Mr Beau" Jade greeted courteously.

"Good afternoon" Jake replied back.

"Buckle up" he added before he started driving. Jade nodded. She couldn't help but admire the car Jake has driven in today. She nodded her head in acknowledgement of the guys taste in cars.

The drive to the gamehouse was a quiet one, and Jade soon realized that they were driving in the same direction as yesterday. Driving to that gamehouse was going to take them a long time, about an hour and it would equally take the same time to return. If they were to add the four hours of the day's session, they were bound to rebound to return when it was dark.

Jade turned to Jake, to ask him if they could probably pick a closer gamehouse. But for some reason she couldn't say those words out when she observed her grave his countenance was. On the few occasions she had seen Jake, she could tell there was something different about him today. Jade could tell something was amidst. Instead of asking of asking the question in mind she said, "Mr Beau do you want to cancel for today?" making Jake snappily turned towards her. Why was she saying that?

"Why do you say that?" Jake asked before returning his attention to the road ahead.

"Well I'm sorry but it seems like you're angry. You can cancel for the day and we could do this next week" Jade suggested. As much as she'd love to be done with the so called 168 hours, she also knew whatever she'd teach him today would be useless if he was absentminded.

Jake looked at her again, it seems this little lady was quite observant. He was really trying his best to keep himself calm, and he wouldn't lie since he saw her sitting by the bus stop, some

"Well I am, but isn't that the most reason to do something fun?" Jake asked as he gazed at her again. Jade fell into a silent thought. She thought about Jake's words yesterday. He had said he wanted to learn how to play a game because he considered it fun right? And right now, he was still finding it difficult to handle a console. So what if she taught him something else. Something that doesn't require a console?

"Mr Beau what if I can cheer you up in 2 hours would you consider it a day?" Jade asked anxiously. Jake gazed at her silently like he was considering her offer. It seems this girl was trying to be smart with him. Would it really be that easy to cheer him up and forget his thoughts?

"Okay" Jake replied. He sure wasn't going to make it that easy for her.
