Chapter 59 - Only You

Name:When You Are Mine Author:Da_Rose
When Jade alighted from the cab, she was suprised to find Cale waiting in front of her house. She looked at him with a frown as she pondered on his reason for being there. It was obvious from his dishelved look that he had waited for long. She had returned home a little late than usual, because she had to prepare herself for the upcoming battle.

Never did Cale come in search of her while they dated. The few times he had dropped by her house, were either to ask for help with work related stuffs, or maybe after she had long pleaded with him to visit her. She had always been the one searching for him. Many times, she had convinced herself that he was busy, thus she'll always go in search of him and she'd always do the things he couldn't do because she wanted to make things work. Finding him by her door right now, felt awkward.

She started for the door without paying attention to the forlorn guy who was waiting outside her apartment. She wondered if her mother knew there was an unwanted guest waiting outside the house.

A smile formed on her lip when she thought about Kelvin's possible reaction if he met Cale there.

"Jade" Cale called out again when Jade walked past like she didn't seen him. Jade continued her walk to the door without turning to him. She frowned when Cale suddenly stopped her on her track by appearing in front of her .

"Jade please listen to me" Cale said with pleading eyes.

"Mr Stuart need I remind you that you are trespassing?" Jade said with a cold glint in her eyes as she glowered at his hands which were slowly rising to touch her.

Cale stopped himself from touching her. It wouldn't be in his favour if he angered her more.

"Jade please listen to me. I'm sorry for those things Stephanie said to you. I swear I had no hand in it."

"She had said those things to spite you, because she knows I want you...only you"

"I dare you to say that again and see if I won't beat the hell out of you" They heard someone say from behind. They were both stunned to Lair standing a few feets behind them.

"Lair?" Jade called. How long has he been standing there?

Lair angrily approached them and stood in front of Jade. "What do think you're doing?" He asked Jade angrily. She knew she shouldn't be entertaining this bedlamite.

Jade didn't know what to say when she saw that angrily look in Lair's eyes. It wasn't her fault that Cale showed up here, but she also understood Lair's prejudice.

Lair turned to Cale with a dangerous look in his eyes. He looked at him from head to toes. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here for Jade and not you" Cale replied dismissively, making Lair scoff.

Lair hated the guts of this idiot. He had been the reason why his friendship with Jade had almost hit rock bottom. And now he had the effrontery to show his face after messing with his best friend's heart?

"It would seem you have a death wish, So listen carefully because I won't repeat myself again except you don't mind me granting that wish of yours" Lair paused and took a step closer to Cale, so that he was standing shoulder to shoulder as he stared him down.

"Let this be the last time you show this sickly face of your's before Jade or that you'll be seen within a ten mile radius close to her. Because if you do, I don't mind sending you and that little girlfriend of yours to an early grave." He threatened with red eyes.

He turned to Jade and grabbed her hand before returning his gaze back to Cale who stood rooted to the ground, too afraid to say something.

"Remember what I said. It's a promise I'd like to keep since the world can do with less bastards like you. Call it a bluff if you must, but I can assure you, you won't live to tell the tales of what might happen to you" He said before leading Jade into the house.

Sincerely, he has been looking forward to pummeling this idiot and leaving him with some bruises which he could probably stitch up, but of course with no local anesthesitics. That way Cale would know the definition of pain, even though it wouldn't surmount to the one Jade had felt, but that would be something.

Cale could only watch Lair as he led Jade into the house, his hands involuntarily balled into a fist. How he despised Lair. All his efforts to talk to Jade today had been futile.. He hissed in frustration before taking his leave.
