56 Without Any Compassion To Anyone

He was about to start recording it when he noticed that it was already recording.

He could only shake his head, she really is something else.

But upon raising his head she was already lying on the sofa, sleeping.

"It seems that she had been up for a while now due to her first security software. And it seemed that we have disturbed her sleep a while ago," Carl went ahead and explained.

With a sigh he checked the time and it was already 1 in the morning.

They were able to finish their dinner and sent her back at around 8. But was then called back at half past 9.

He didn't consider all this factor when he called her and was even a little ticked off when she shouted at him a while ago in the phone.

Seeing as she was in deep sleep and looked so comfortable, he didn't try carrying her to the bed for it might wake her up.

Instead he went in and brought out a blanket. Since she already used her jacket as the pillow.

It may look unsincere at first but when you think about it, if he had moved her even just for a bit, there's a chance that she would wake up. Once again her sleep would be disturbed.

What Ashton did, of just placing a blanket over her, had all of this considered.

He then looked at Carl but instead of speaking, he went ahead and texted him.

After reading that he was to report back at around lunch, Carl bowed left a pack on the table and silently left the room.

Ashton had considered the fact that he had stayed until this late due to what had happened so he told him to report at a later time.

Ashton picked up the pack and opened it, finding a headache medicine inside. He felt even more guilty, Carl noticed that she had a headache but he was more focused on the matter at hand.

She has been used to pain but it must have felt uncomfortable due to this.

She told them a while back that despite being used to pain and somehow bring numb to it. The pain was still uncomfortable to her.

He first closed the lights before returning to his table, just as he was about to get close. His phone vibrated, his cousin Lian was calling.

He went inside the room before answering.

"I never thought you are well acquainted to such an amazing person cousin. He was even using your computer, say is there a way we could invite him?"

Lian was deeply excited by this. When he checked the ip address that was used, he found out that it was one of Ashton's IP address.

That means the person was someone close to him in person. With such capabilities, being roped in was a big plus to their company.

"I cannot, the person didn't want to," he replied with a bit of regret as well.

Security company may not be their main business but it was their secondary.

"Oh that's too bad, why is that? Do you know the reason?" Lian voiced out his question with a tinge of disappointment.

"Personal reason. The person who initiated this attack, I already have the evidence. I'll be sending it to you in a minute. At the same time, I guess we need a thorough cleaning to our company," he decided to change the topic.

"Wow, that's fast of you. And cleaning? Are you telling me that it started within?"

"Even I was shock, who would have thought that we had such a big mole inside. To add to that upon analyzing it, it is indeed the only way for them to actually have such a tremendous effect on their attack."

Lian remained silent as he listened to Ashton's explanation.

"With the way it was created, it was unique in every way. Only those who are within would have the chance to make use of its structure in order to launch an attack towards us."

"Are you telling me, it would be one of the higher ups within the security?" Lian squinted his eyes and looked at the people around him.

They are not the complete line up but some of them were among the higher ups.

The people were already leaning on their chairs or having a nap on their desks. They no longer have the energy to stand up and go home, the attack went on for about two days, straight.

"I told you I already have the evidence. It shall be up to you to get a thorough clean up with this. I have no desire of being suddenly called out to help because someone exploited our security defenses."

"Look, I really am sorry. We also didn't want to call for you but with the unrelenting attacks, we couldn't strengthen the defenses at the same time," Lian coughed upon hearing this.

Ashton have so much in his hands despite being young, him being older was handling the security company, while Ashton was being trained to manage the main company, which was focused on Hotels and Schools.

"Seeing the number of attackers, that person was confident his attack would succeed getting that much help. You have to pay attention to not let anyone resign yet or take a leave."

He was younger but during decision making he has the authority. Lian was not the least bit offended because Ashton have shown all his prowess gaining the respect of all the oldies.

"Got it. But you were still strengthening the defense a while ago. How did you get the evidence it such a short time?"

"It's not me... It was him," he decided to hide Amber's gender, since Lian was so sure in using him anyway.

"Woah, you two sure are close. Don't tell me without you asking him. He went out of his way to get the evidence?"

"Mm."

"Anyway, since it is already late over there. Let's just speak again once I'm done with cleaning up. You go ahead and send me the evidence before going to sleep. You're still young after all, you need that."

"I don't want to hear that from you."

After saying this he went ahead and hung up.

Lian waited for just a few minutes before receiving th email. And to his shock it was a video evidence full with audio.

A smile appeared on his face as he look at it, though he squinted after seeing the people in it.

"How admirable, to get this in such a short amount of time. His skills are truly top notch."

He leaned back on his chair, his elbows resting on the arm rest and his head propped on his hands.

"But, I can sense a change on Ashton as well. He barely talked in the past yet he was explaining things now. It's either he would just send the email with every explanation or would just send it as is."

"That person must have an influence in him. Someone other than Madison could help him? How intriguing."

The Wright Empire was the most harmonious royal family. That is why after what had happened four years ago. All of them are worried towards Ashton, no one could help him back then.

"You were but a lively child but circumstances broke your young heart. It was a pity that it turned you into such a cold person," he couldn't help but sigh.

There are only a few young children within their family. Not that they didn't want to have so many but the more the children the more they would quarrel over the inheritance.

It became a silent agreement that they would rather have a child or two instead of many. Then these cousins would be tested on multiple things to find the most suitable candidate for the next master.

And this would happen every other generation.

Ashton was the best among them, that even Lian and the others agreed that he is the best candidate.

He enjoys so many things and find joy in the simplest things. He was a warm child and cares deeply for those whom he holds dear.

That is why it was a great impact to all of them when he changed due to the incident four years ago. And each of them wished that he won't meet another such situation.

For he might end up being too cold without compassion to anyone at all.

In reality the reason that Ashton started explaining his thoughts was really because of Amber.

While she was asking help from him for her software she would watch him do it but didn't bother explaining anything. She endured for a few days but soon exploded.

"What's the use of your mouth if you're not going to use it? Do you think I am a genius that I would understand what you are doing just because I watch it?"

Ashton looked at her with his furrowed brows.

"Don't look at me with your furrowed brows and start explaining what you were doing. You were so competent in your other work yet you are too lazy to explain things."

After that, everytime he didn't explain she would nag at him over and over again. To the point where he just wanted to throw her out of the office.
