Chapter 818 - They're Alright

Once Lisa's consciousness had gathered in her body, the woman just opened her mouth. But instead of answering Chloe or Randy's question, she answered their question with another question.

"How's William doing? Is he alright?"

Chloe and Randy suddenly looked at each other. Before either of them had time to answer Lisa's question, the woman asked again, "Where is Oscar? Why isn't he here? Is he still in William's room?"

"Honey, don't worry, William is fine. Earlier, the doctor said that William's leg only fractured a little and did not need surgery. William just had to stay in the hospital for a week to have his ankle checked."

"William is fine, the only thing you need to worry about is yourself." Chloe continued slowly while pouring water in a glass for Lisa to drink, "Earlier, the doctor said that you had severe anemia. Why didn't you tell me or Oscar? We can give you medicine or vitamins to prevent you from fainting like earlier."

Lisa didn't listen to the last sentence Chloe said. Her attention was more focused on her words that said William was fine and that his leg only cracked a little. Her heart had begun to beat normally, and her chest was no longer heavy.

After that, Lisa got up from the patient bed and accepted the glass of water given by Chloe. She then put on the sandals near the foot of the bed, but her hands stopped when she remembered something. Since Lisa had just passed out and the cause of her fainting was anemia, the woman's face looked as pale as a paper. Not to mention that the voice that came out of her lips sounded weak, as if she had no spirit.

"Oh yeah, where's Oscar?"

Chloe took a sip of Lisa's remaining water and replied, "He's in William's room. Don't worry."

If Lisa was in good health and her lips didn't feel dry, her tongue didn't feel limp either, maybe she would look at Chloe in disbelief. Maybe she would get out of bed and slap her hard on the cheek and ask, 'Who are you?! Where did you hide the real Chloe!?"

Because for her, it was impossible for the real Chloe to talk in such a soft-sounding sentence that could make her feel at ease. Usually, talking to Chloe made Lisa feel like she was at the market or gossiping with her friends. It was the first time she felt like she was talking to her mother when she talked to Chloe.

If even Lisa was shocked, imagine how Randy was feeling now. Listening to Chloe's soft tone made his heart feel like it was being stung by high-voltage electricity. His whole body felt warm and for some reason his face also felt warm. He was one hundred percent sure his face must have turned red by now.

If only Chloe talked to him every day in a soft tone like this… Randy would definitely feel at home. He wouldn't need to save the woman's number with the name 'Devil Girl'.

Chloe was helping Lisa tidy up her messy appearance when she felt herself being watched from earlier. With lightning speed she turned and threw a sadistic look at Randy.

"What are you looking at!? Never seen a pretty girl or something!?"

"N-no," Randy replied with a grimace as he looked away from Chloe's face. "I… I didn't mean to..."

Honestly, Randy had never seen an evil woman with a beautiful face. In the past, according to him, someone with beauty would be gentle, warm-hearted, not easily angered, and always smiling. In addition, she must also have a calm presence.

But now, Randy did not expect that the criteria would change drastically. Since when did he start to like stubborn women who easily get angry for no reason? Since when did he think Chloe was beautiful? Since when did he feel his heart stop beating every time their eyes met?

Chloe narrowed her eyes, and gave a warning to Randy, "If I see you daydreaming One more time while looking at me, I'm going to gouge your eyes out!"

Hearing that immediately made Randy shake his head quickly. "I… I promise not to repeat it again, ma'am. Forgive me. It's all my fault."

If it was like this, Randy wanted to kneel down and beg for forgiveness from the woman. From the past until now, Randy was always made weak by that woman. Whenever he made a mistake, he just wanted to get on his knees, bow, and apologize profusely. That was the effect Chloe had on him.

Chloe rolled her eyes and looked back at Lisa. She looked sad again, and for the umpteenth time, she tried to cheer her up, letting her mouth do the smoothest talk ever.

"Well, don't worry about it, dear. William and Oscar are fine. Now Oscar is in William's room to look after your son. And not just him, Dani is also there to take care of William. Now your job is just to rest and recover your health first."

"How are you going to take care of William if you are also sick like this? You just need to sleep again, no need to rush to your child's room." Chloe continued slowly, her voice oddly sounded smooth.

After saying that, Chloe stood in front of Lisa who had just finished putting on her shoes. She bent down and took off her shoes again and slightly pushed Lisa's body back to lie down on the patient's bed.

Before Lisa could protest what she had done, Chloe had already raised the blanket under her chin.

"Sleep and rest first before going to William's room. Go there only when you feel better," Chloe said while glancing at the clock on the wall, "It's still half past four in the morning. Sleep, let me stay here waiting for you. I'm sure William is asleep by now because the doctor just gave him painkillers."

"Let's see William together tomorrow, okay? I want to know how my beloved nephew is doing." Chloe continued as she sat back down beside Lisa's bed. She ruffled her blonde hair and looked at Lisa's side face, "Just sleep. I'll still be here when you wake up."

Lisa cleared her throat and finally closed her eyes.

She felt at ease being treated gently by Chloe, unable to understand why she was so different from her mother. The faces of the two of them looked similar, very similar. This made Lisa, who was still half-conscious, feel like she was being treated well by Greta.

"Lisa, sometimes I wonder… Why can you be so nice to other people? Even to me… you also treat me so well."

Before Lisa actually entered her dreamland, she had heard that come out of Chloe's lips.
