Chapter 42 - Battles across the land

as Ryjin was battling the combined army of the north and Irish Wallace was meet with a army in his front and his left a force of around 100k of norther lords along with around another 100k of Irish Wallace had his 100k army but also a good 90k of the lords armies with him so it was the enemy 200k Vs Wallace 190k.

Wallace did not know who the enemy commander is But Wallace was more of a highlander so his army was made of Highland soldiers Like Highland warriors there are 10k of them his main foot troops are the Highlanders they are Sword and shield Infantry he has 30k of them he has 10k Highland armour pike-men he has 30k highland archers and 10k heavy crossbows and 10k Heavy highland cavalry the lords with him have a good 60k Infantry and 30k archers.

Wallace has his Highlanders upfront and with the Lords infantry split in 2 and on the side's of his Highlanders the archers where behind the front line as the crossbows where also there The cav was placed at the flanks the Pikes where along the Infantry back line encase the enemy try to charge his front lines as Wallace is ready for battle after a few hours he notice's the enemy is Not willing to start the engagement so Wallace Plants his clay-more in the ground at the front of his army and he walks forward as he Lifts his Cilt up and starts shouting and cursing at the enemy to taunt them he then says to his highlanders to join in as many plant there swords in ground and start lifting there cilt and mooning the enemy and it seems that taunt worked as the enemy Irish Got Amazingly Pissed at there actions and they Charged Wallace's army.

Wallace Picked up his clay-more and so did his highlanders the Front was ready and then Wallace shouted CHARGEEEE as his front line Launched forward as his archers and crossbows where Hailing the enemy with arrows and bolts The lords where with there men also charging wanting to gain glory and Honour as the 2 Lines Hit there was just a huge Thud as you could see 2 sides bashing each other shitless as shield met shield and sword on sword It was an all out Battle royal Wallace was with his 10k highland warriors and carving a brutal path threw the enemy as the northern lords saw the Irish getting slaughtered they started Charging in only to be flanked by the Highland cav hitting them hard in there left flank the northern lords charge was stopped in its tracks before it even took off The right flank of Wallace infantry made of 30k lord's infantry Broke off and charged the now Halted Northern Force essentially Hitting them with a second charge this 1 made of infantry.

With this battle Not going the way the northern and Irish Lords wanted they sounded the retreat as many of there soldiers Started running back Wallace's army Did not let up the cav was massacring the retreating enemy with this battle currently over the enemy now had around 120k where as Wallace still had a good 180k he only lost around 5k where as the other 5k where wounded The enemy was now retreating to a castle just North of Wallace's Position and he knew he had no choice but to lay siege to it.

Glens army was at the southern end of the welsh lands and his army was actually Making great progress at-least half the south lands have fallen to him already and he is working his way north towards Robert as he got a messenger from Robert stating the enemy had Stationed in a castle with at-least 150k troops and Robert would Like glens army to aid in the siege to lessen the casualties of course Glen agreed without hesitation and now his army is marching there.

Wallace was now starring at a castle with a army in it Wallace knew if he attacked he may win but with Horrendous losses he needed extra help But then he remembered what Ryjin had said and also Taught some of his Highlanders To build catapults Trebuchey's and ballista so Wallace had his army surround the castle and had men start building catapults and Lots of Treb's and some ballista and siege towers This would be a test to see if he could take this place without losing the majority of his army.

Ryjin was still stuck in on the battle on his side as his army was holding amazingly and The enemy was on the verge of retreat Ryjin wanted to know what that feeling was that Jill felt ??? its on his mind and he believes that someone or something is trying to influence Things from behind the scenes
