YVE's POV

I have to tell him everything. So while I was hugging him after telling him the result of my CT scan, I said,

"Vince, I have something to tell you."

I was interrupted when Vince's phone rang. He got his phone from the pocket of his pants. I felt his head move so I assume he looked at the caller ID. He then tossed his phone to Edward.

Then, I heard the door opened and closed. Edward must have left the room to answer the phone call. Not moving one bit from our position, I asked,

"Who was that? If that was business you should have answered it."

"Well, you can say that. But it's not important. It's my private time already, YOU are my priority."

Hearing him say that, made me blush and I can imagine myself resembling a tomato in color.

"But what if it's important?"

"Edward will do something about it. If he can't handle it, tomorrow morning would be the soonest time he will ask for my help."

"He is really reliable, right?"

"Yeah. I am thankful that I always have him by my side."

We continue to embrace each other in silence as I was preparing my thoughts when he said,

"I don't mind staying like this forever but if I remembered correctly, you have something to say to me, right?"

He tried to remove my hands and made me face him but I insisted our position to remain that way.

"Just let me embrace you. I'm afraid that I can't finish the things I want to say to you if you can see my face in the process."

"Okay, then."

Now that we're alone. It is much more easier to tell him the truth.

"So, what do you want to say?" Vince asked.

"Don't you have any questions for me?" I asked him. I was expecting him to ask me so many questions.

"I have so many questions. I was waiting for the right time to ask you but I want you to initiate so that you can make the call about the things you want to share."

"You're really a good guy, Vince."

"But I can be mean too, especially if they were mean to me."

This time, it is my turn to remove my hands to look at him.

"I was mean to you. But why are you not mean to me?"

He cupped my face with his big and warm hands and said,

"Because I know that you have a reason for doing so. I know that you have thought about it and what you did was the best solution you can think of."

He really thinks highly of me. I felt embarrassed and looked down. I walked far from him and look at the window. I saw the glimmering, city lights and even heard some traffic noises.

"Yes, you were right. I thought breaking up with you was the right thing."

"It was about 2 months after my father's death. You flew to Australia because your parents wanted you to help in the business crisis you had back then. I understood it clearly and I let you go. You promised to return and I knew you will keep your promise no matter how long it will take. I was willing to wait but I also wanted to help you in any way I can. "

"Then?" Vince asked.

"Then I remembered that I still have a voice in the company as the heir so I went there to attend the shareholders' meeting. Since Gray Group has been a loyal partner, I thought it was an easy task."

"But it wasn't because it will bring a great loss to the company instead of helping, right?" Vince said and I saw his reflection walked closer to me.

"Yes, then I began to study about your case and what our company can offer."

He hugged me from behind and said, "So it was really you who gave those business proposals and strategies?"

His embrace was so comforting and he smelled fresh despite coming from work. I can clearly hear heartbeat sounds but I don't know if it was mine or his. Well, who cares. I will enjoy this moment while it lasts.

I lean towards him and answered, "Yes it was me. But of course, every business plan needs money for it to be realized."

He held my hand and guided me to turn around and face him. I was feeling shy about saying the next part so I looked down.

"Since, Mommy was my legal guardian and the acting CEO, I made a deal with her."

"Stones will lend us money and supervise us as we follow the business strategy laid out. In return, you will stay away from me?"

I looked up to his face in disbelief. He knew what happened and yet he waited for me. He waited for the right time until I was ready.

"How did you know? When did you know?"

"I only knew it around daybreak. You were shouting in your sleep and you blurted it out."

"Why…"

"Because I was thinking it wasn't the right time to ask. You had an accident and I don't want to add another burden to haunt you in your sleep."

He cupped my face once more and leaned his head forward. Our faces were just inches away. I can see his long eyelashes, dark brown eyes and his nose that emphasizes the foreign blood he has.

"I had the idea that you were the one behind those plans but I never thought that in return fro saving our company you were willing to make that deal." Vince said.

"I am …."

"Shhh…. I appreciate your help but you should have told me."

"But you wouldn't let me make the deal then."

"OF COURSE! You were, are, and will always be important to me."

"I know. I followed my end of the deal and Mommy also did. But on my father's 1st death anniversary, I discovered something….."

At that time, pain, anger and frustration were all over me as I continue to reveal what happened to my supposed to be a perfect, happy and peaceful family.
