26 Busy Day

YVE's POV

I felt uncomfortable so I woke up and noticed that my pillow is wet. Did I cry during my sleep? Then I remembered the sad past that I don't want to remember. I looked around and saw Vince sleeping on the couch. He was still sleeping when a nurse came inside.

"Ms. Smith, you're now awake." The nurse said.

"Yes, is there any problem?"

"No, it's just it will be your turn soon to have the CT scan but Mr. Gray is still asleep."

"Ahh, the guardian's consent form."

"Yes. I need to turn this form over before your actual schedule."

"Can't I sign this form on his behalf?"

"You can, but Mr…"

"It's okay. I'll take care of it. For now, let him have some more sleep."

I took the form from the nurse and affix my signature. The nurse told me that I will have the CT scan at 8 in the morning. It is about 10 minutes from now.

While I was waiting for the time, I went to the toilet to wash up and I saw how horrible I look. My swollen eyes proved that I cried but I didn't know if Vince noticed it or had any idea what I dreamed. As I went out the toilet, I saw Vince.

"Are you okay?" He asked me.

"Yes, I am feeling much better now. I just went to the toilet to prepare for my CT scan."

"Oh, okay. Let me have that." He said and I handed the IV line line and bag to him.

We walk towards my bed and he helped me sit down and covered me with blanket. I told him my schedule and what the nurse said to me. It looked to me that he didn't hear or even knew what happened during my sleep. Well it's fine for now since I don't want to bother him during his work. But I have decided, I will tell him tonight. I will answer all his questions tonight.

"Vince, do you have anything to do tonight?"

"Well, after work I will come back here immediately. Why? Do you want anything for dinner?"

"No. I like the taste of the food here. It was delicious compared to what other say about hospital foods."

"Okay."

Just like on cue, Edward and a hospital staff came in the room.

"Name of the patient?" The staff asked.

Well, it was nothing new. It has been the hospital protocol to ask some questions to ensure that everything is in order. I answered all of his questions and he placed me in the wheelchair. The staff was about to push the wheelchair when Vince said,

"Let me accompany you."

Then I caught a glimpse of Edward's worried look. It seems like there is an important company meeting soon and he must not be late. So even if I wanted him to I said,

"Vince, there's no need for you to do that. What you need to do is to go to work and do your best."

"Yve…."

"I will be fine. Don't worry. I promise to obey the hospital staff, okay? Now, Edward better take Vince to the toilet and prepare him for work."

Edward followed my instructions and with Vince's back facing me, he mouthed, "Thank you." I nodded in response and told the hospital staff that we can leave.

VINCE's POV

Yve is doing her CT scan now while on the other hand, I just finished taking a bath and came out of the toilet wearing my suit. As I was fixing my necktie, he reported today's schedule. Actually, I wasn'tlistening to him. I was thinking about Yve and what she said during her dream.

"Bro? Bro?!"

"Oh, yes?"

"You're not listening again. What are you thinking this time?"

"Yve."

"What about her?"

"She really did save Gray Group but she exchanged it with our relationship."

"What?!"

"She made a deal with her step mother. As long as she will stay away from me, Stones Enterprises will help Gray Group."

"But technically, Yvory is the sole heir of the business."

"Yes, but she was minor then. What I don't get now, is why she's not working there? And why did she used our company's HR department as her immediate relative."

"Well, that's another mystery. But my man is investigating that."

"Yeah. When will I have the report?"

"Tomorrow morning."

"That's good then."

"But we should go now. You would still want to eat your breakfast in the company's cafeteria, right?"

"Of course."

With that, we find ourselves on our way to the resort.

The day was a very busy indeed. I have meetings here and there and I also have to check so many transactions. But still, it wasn't enough for me to forget my questions about Yve's case.

"Bro, the executive secretary called."

"And?"

"Airis is coming back and wants to see you immediately." I look at Ed with a 'why should I go?' look?

"I did try to make some excuses but I failed."

"That's rare, Ed. Anyways, when will Airis arrive?"

"Tonight."

"TONIGHT?! Ed, you know I can't because I have to go to the hospital."

"They are sisters right? Maybe you can bring Airis to the hospital to see Yve."

"Ed, I don't know." Now it was his turn to give me a doubtful look.

"Well, ever since what happened in the hospital and with all the revelation. I began to doubt Airis and her mom."

"I have a plan, Vince."

"What is it?"

"Bring Airis in the hospital and let them meet face to face. You will immediately have an idea of what happened."

"No, I don't think that is a good idea. Yve had an accident and we don't know for sure if she's fine."

"But we can't afford to offend the Stones Enterprise."

"Actually, we can. It is not included in the contract that I have to marry or be close to Airis and besides the real owner is Yve. Their board of directors would be delighted if they knew that I took care of their boss."

"I gave up! I leave it to your decision-making skills."

"Okay. Then go back to work as we need to leave for the hospital after we finished everything."

I saw Ed leave my office and I focused on my work once more.What a long day at work has finally came to an end. Now, Ed and I are on our way to the hospital. Immediately, I went to Yve's room and saw her eating some fruits.

She walked towards me and said, "Everything's fine."

"What do you mean?" I asked her.

"The doctor said that nothing is wrong with my CT scan. The dizziness might just be brought by the abrupt change in posture. So I can leave the hospital by tomorrow."

"That's great!"

And I hugged her gently.Her hair smells so good and is still smooth despite not having the time to take a bath. What made me more happy was that she also hugged me tightly.

"Vince, I have something to tell you."
