Chapter 17 - VGB 17: The game is too easy. (3)

“It’s fun, isn’t it?”

I jumped lightly onto the small footholds protruding out from stone slits in the wall.

Kooong!

The stones I had just stepped on had already disappeared.

Shuuuuk!

“Uh oh.”

As soon as I noticed it, several arrows shot towards me.

I had no choice but to kick off the wall, rotating my body to avoid the arrows.

After continuing up the wall in that manner, I finally landed safely on a green disk.

A message window then appeared before me.

[Tutorial stage 3 has been cleared.]

Perhaps due to the capsule’s high synchronisation rate, the character moved exactly the way I wanted.

There was none of the subtle sense of disconnect that was characteristic of Virtual Reality games. Rather, I felt even more energetic than in reality.

When I had used my old-fashioned capsule to play <Gaia Online>, there had been times when my character didn’t follow my directions.

Compared to that, the sensations I felt now were almost real.

Thanks to that, I was excited just by the feeling of  moving my avatar.

I had been worried at first because of what I had heard about the difficulty, but it seemed like the difficulty level had been adjusted because it was just the tutorial.

When I glanced at the chat window, the viewers were spouting heated words.

I looked closer and threw out a casual line.

“It’s easier than you think.”

Ah, why was I so happy when people were cursing me out?

“……Chansik-ah, can I ask you something?”

“Yeah, Hyung.”

Dongsoo hyung, who had been quiet, suddenly asked me a question.

“The traps just now, they weren’t difficult?”

“I saw the sneak attack coming. It was easy to meet the objectives, I guess? It was pretty fun.”

His explanation of the traps’ and their effects had been excellent.

Thanks to him, it was easy to react to and deal with them.

However, Dongsoo hyung didn’t seem satisfied with my answer.

He mumbled something to himself then just sighed deeply and fell back again.

Was there a problem?

Anyway, I continued through the tutorial.

According to what I’d looked up earlier, the fourth stage featured a white wolf.

After killing the wolf, you had to take the necklace from around the wolf’s neck and leave the cave to clear the stage.

Passing the green disk, I arrived at a small door and another message popped up in my mind.

[Now entering stage 4.]

[Objective: Acquire the Oath Necklace.]

AOA was so mean that it didn’t tell you what you needed to do to get the necklace. If I hadn’t done research beforehand, I might have been completely clueless.

A white wolf with gleaming red eyes soon appeared before my eyes.

The white wolf’s nickname was ‘Mad Dog’.

It was a nickname that was given after putting players through hell.

Not to mention, if you didn’t put a dagger in its specific weak spot, it wouldn’t die.

At the end of the day, it was an arrogant wolf who would bite down on the necks of players and shake them mercilessly.

So, it was also the tutorial monster that newbies were most afraid of.

The experience of a wolf biting down and shaking them by the neck couldn’t be pleasant.

The Mad Dog’s only weakness was the belly button portion of its body which was revealed during a jump attack.

The guide video had explained that this part was pretty hard.

The streamer had said that their only chance was when they had deliberately exposed their neck, and the wolf had leaped towards them.

I should just try and see what happens, right?

I looked at the ‘Mad Dog’, holding the dagger from my inventory in my hand.

And 30 seconds later.

“What, it’s really so easy.”

‘NDA (National Dog Association)’ has sponsored 1,000 won.

[Mad Dog will remember your evil deeds.]

Remember? Remember what?

It was all just digital shit.

I rolled my shoulders as I slid out the dagger that was lodged precisely in the dog’s navel.

Ah, isn’t this game too easy?
