148 Falling Sick

Jing Yan could not help but widen his eyes. He could not help but grab He Miao’s wrist. “Say that again!”

“I said, I accept your proposal.” The drunk He Miao started to talk nonsense, completely unaware that she had already sold herself out.

She only remembered that the marriage proposals on TV all required flowers and rings. Jing Yan’s eyes were so affectionate that she was dazed for a moment. She thought she was the female lead who was proposed to in a TV drama and started to learn the lines from an idol drama.

“Alright,” he said. Jing Yan wished he could devour the woman who was teasing him so that she would not regret it when she woke up the next day.

However, his rationality told him that if he really did that, not only would He Miao not be with him, but she would also take revenge on him by any means necessary.

Jing Yan had seen He Miao’s cold eyes before, and the last thing he wanted was for her to look at him like that.

He closed his eyes and carried her into the room with a cold face. Then, he went to the bathroom to wet a towel to wipe her face.

He Miao was already fast asleep. Onion was staring at him curiously, not minding Jing Yan’s sudden intrusion into his territory.

He could not help but pat the dazed onion, calling him “silly dog” affectionately before lying down on the other side of the bed, keeping the same distance from He Miao as last night.

He Miao did not wake up for the entire night. She snuggled into the blanket and slept soundly.

Jing Yan, on the other hand, woke up several times to check if she was sleeping well.

In the hotel at night, the only blanket was covering He Miao’s body. Jing Yan could only turn up the temperature of the air conditioner, but the high temperature in the room made He Miao’s body, which was already burning hot, extremely uncomfortable. A thin layer of sweat quickly formed on her body, and her arms and legs threw the blanket away restlessly.

Jing Yan noticed that she was sleeping uncomfortably, so he lowered the temperature of the air conditioner and covered her with a blanket to prevent her from catching a cold. Unfortunately, he caught a cold the next morning.

After being frozen for two consecutive nights, even Jing Yan’s strong body could not bear it. Sleeping at night was a time when one’s immune system was weak, not to mention that he did not sleep well last night.

When He Miao woke up, she saw the man lying next to her with a ruddy face. She frowned and leaned forward slightly to push him, and his hot breath suddenly sprayed on her arm.

She widened her eyes in shock and reached out to feel his forehead. The hot temperature traveled from her skin to the bottom of her heart.

She anxiously ran to the bathroom, intending to wet a towel to cool him down, but she saw that there was already a wet towel hanging on the shelf.

Frowning slightly, He Miao did not think too much about it. She quickly washed the towel and placed it on Jing Yan’s burning forehead to cool it down. “Jing Yan, wake up.”

She could not wake the man up no matter what, so she had to get up, tidy up her clothes, and go out to buy breakfast and medicine.

Jing Yan woke up slowly after she left. The discomfort he felt made him frown irritatedly. The first thing he did when he opened his eyes was to look at the woman beside him, only to find that she had long been gone.

He jolted awake and sat up on the bed. The cold towel on his forehead slid down and fell on his clothes. He held the towel, and the scene of He Miao taking care of him suddenly appeared in his mind. It was as if he had seen it with his own eyes, and his heart was bubbling with joy.

He laid back on the bed, feeling assured. He checked the time on his phone over and over again, anxiously waiting for He Miao to come back.

The door of the room was finally pushed open. Hearing the noise, Jing Yan quickly pretended to be asleep and closed his eyes.

He Miao walked over and flipped his towel over before muttering to himself, “Why isn’t he awake yet? He’s not unconscious, right?”

He Miao hesitated, then nudged Jing Yan, but the man on the bed still did not move.

Just as she was about to call the Jing famliy’s private doctor, her arm that was holding the phone was suddenly grabbed. She was dragged by a force and fell on Jing Yan.

“You’re looking for someone else. Are you not going to take care of me?” Jing Yan looked at her with his sparkling dark eyes, which were full of a smug smile.

Only then did He Miao realize that she had been tricked. She got up angrily and threw the medicine at him. “Take it yourself.”

“I haven’t eaten yet. Is this how you take care of a patient?” Jing Yan naturally sat up and leaned against the head of the bed, looking like a rascal waiting for her to serve him.

He Miao could not help but roll her eyes, and her heart that had just clenched completely relaxed. She placed the breakfast she had bought on the bedside table and said sarcastically, “I only have this plain porridge and side dishes. I wonder if they suit Young Master’s taste?”

Jing Yan laughed at her words and grabbed her hand affectionately. “My wife bought it, so I naturally like it.”

“Who’s your wife?” He Miao ate the bun in her hand with small bites.

Before she could swallow it, she heard a familiar voice from Jing Yan’s phone. “I accept your proposal.”
