131 Plead Guilty

Mu Xiao drove He Miao to the hospital and did a full body checkup. He heaved a sigh of relief after confirming that she was fine.

When he recalled how Jing Yan had called him over in such a hurry, he thought something serious had happened to He Miao’s body!

He looked at the side profile of the young girl sitting beside him in a daze, and could not help but mutter to himself, “No wonder Brother Yan likes you.”

“What?” He Miao turned around to examine him.

Mu Xiao immediately came back to his senses and coughed dryly. His face was flushed as he said, “It’s nothing. Brother Yan will be here to pick you up soon.”

“I need to go back to school first.” He Miao took the medical report back and stood up to leave. She felt uneasy if she did not handle this matter personally.

“No!” Mu Xiao quickly stood up and said with some fear, “If I lose you, Brother Yan will beat me to death. Besides, even if you go back now, there’s no one else in the school.”

He Yan sighed and looked at the time helplessly.

She had been busy with her physical examinations in various departments of the hospital and had neglected the time. She did not expect it to be almost eight in the evening.

When He Miao was not paying attention, Mu Xiao secretly sent a message to Jing Yan, asking him how long it would take for him to reach the hospital. Jing Yan quickly replied and asked him to send He Miao home.

Mu Xiao furrowed his brows, thinking that this was not Jing Yan’s style. He was actually willing to let him take care of the girl he liked.

However, he did not think too much about it. He looked at the anxious He Miao and conveyed Jing Yan’s message to him. “Brother Yan asked me to send you back first. He’s almost done with his things.”

“What did he do?” He Miao asked worriedly, afraid that he had used some underhanded means.

Mu Xiao shrugged his shoulders, feeling wronged. “Brother Yan didn’t say, but he said he would look for you later.”

He Miao had no choice but to follow Jing Yan’s instructions and return home.

Jing Yan had been pacing back and forth in the bedroom for quite a while. When he finally heard movement at the door, he ran over and pounced on He Miao, his hanging heart finally settling down.

He was afraid that He Miao would disobey him and go to school to settle the score with Mo Ying. Now that she was home, he could finally rest easy and have a good night’s sleep.

He Miao picked up Onion and stroked its fur absentmindedly. Time passed by, and He Miao leaned against the headboard drowsily. However, Jing Yan still did not come.

The puppy that had just fallen asleep in her arms suddenly became noisier. It kept moving around in her arms, waking He Miao up from her sleep.

Jing Yan jumped out of her arms and climbed to her usual sleeping spot. Then he raised his dog head and looked at her seriously.

He Miao laughed at its small movements and patted its head lovingly. “Is onion trying to make me lie down and sleep?”

Woof! Jing Yan barked softly, and his tail began to wag from side to side.

He Miao shook her head helplessly. She got up to wash up and tidy herself up. She looked at the time on the wall clock before lying down to sleep again.

At 12:30 a.m., Jing Yan opened his eyes on the dot and woke up in the lounge that the police station had specially prepared for him.

Seeing the extra pages of the interrogation record on the table, Jing Yan curled his lips coldly and read it word by word.

In the interrogation room, Mo Ying pleaded guilty in a panic. She admitted that after she had knocked He Miao out, she had taken away the perfume she had created.

The police also found stolen goods in her house. Mo Ying could not deny it, so she begged Jing Yan helplessly outside the interrogation room. “Please let me go. I really can’t go to jail. I still have to go to school. I can’t go to jail.”

Jing Yan looked away coldly and turned to the police officer beside him. “Lock him up and punish him severely.”

“I should.” The police officer nodded and held Mo Ying’s arm as he locked her up in the detention center. He sighed in his heart. This was the outcome of offending someone who should not be offended.

The Jing family’s influence was not only in the business world, but also in the political world. It was as easy as moving a finger to find an ordinary student with no background.

He knew how important the perfume was to He Miao, but he did not have much time left. In order to prevent Mo Ying from destroying He Miao’s painstakingly made perfume, he had sent someone to find out the location of her house and took her to the police station that very night.

This was the simplest method, but also the riskiest.

However, in order to make He Miao feel at ease and to make up for his mistake of being late today, he had to give her a satisfactory answer as soon as possible.

It was almost morning when Jing Yan arrived at He Miao’s house after he got He Miao’s perfume and the results of Mo Ying’s interrogation.

He Miao did not sleep well that night. When she woke up, she heard familiar footsteps outside the door. She woke up instantly and ran to open the door without even putting on her shoes. She saw Jing Yan hesitantly pacing back and forth at the door.
