Chapter 106 - Hatred

The way the man addressed her was somewhat annoying but she maintained a clean smile because she knew he was simply joking and teasing her.

"Yes, I'm that kidnapped bride! Not a runaway one because your brother is the one who made me run from my own wedding.."

Javier looked surprised by her comment, "How do you know that we both are brothers?'' Although he knew that she saw the picture at the museum still, the picture was much older, when their mother was with them and it was a happy family.

Now, things changed so did their faces and physique. Moreover, he hasn't introduced them until now, so how can she just drop any clue?

Jennifer smiled and lifted her chin high, showing that she's way more intelligent than they all think of her to be.

Being quite confident, she replied back, "Because both of you share the same face structure...similarity can be seen. Also, both of your eyes are so same, anyone can tell that you both are brothers by blood."

Her observation seemed to impress Charles a lot. He didn't expect her to be so observant of someone like him, and see the similarity at just one glance, here under one minute.

"You are right. Nice to meet you, I'm Charles Johnsons." Charles extended his hand and Jennifer shook it, "I'm Jennifer Taylor. I believe that I don't even need an introduction since you already know who I am more than what I know about myself.."

A chuckle passed through his lips to lighten the environment around him.

After meeting their strict and odd parents of his, she realized that at least there is someone as fun-loving and somewhat easy to converse with, in this house.

Moreover, the fun-loving nature of Javier can be seen in Charles as well, just the slightest difference is that Charles looks like a rule abider while Javier is a rule breaker.

"So true. Oh, are you both going somewhere?" he asked with uncertainty, to which Javier replied, "I have to go and meet father in his study. Will be glad if you show Jennifer around her room..I mean my room.."

Charles comminuted with his eyebrows with Javier- your room? It was a clear tease to him and Javier knew that a lot of questions will be raised now.

"She will be staying in my room so that no one in our family comes and tries to annoy her. You know, our family is no less than any dangerous place"

"So true brother. Keep the lady safe... Who knows her tension will increase someone else's worries too."

Jennifer took his words in the context of Lucas but Javier wasn't an idiot. Javier understood his words too well, to indicate that Javier will simply go mad if something happens to Jennifer, even the slightest bit, to begin with.

"Why don't you go and meet father? I'll show you around, Ms. Taylor? If you are okay with this?" He took Jennifer's permission and nodded her head.

She didn't feel Charles was any kind of threat to her and didn't mean any harm.

It was too easy to predict through eyes and find out who is in her favor and who isn't.

Emily to begin with as well as the lady downstairs, Shirley is totally against her arrival.

Javier was alright with the arrangement. After giving his brother a look, he left to meet his father.

With this, Charles shifted his attention to Jennifer and asked very politely, "So, this way leads to Javier's room."

The words sounded too meaningful from his mouth and a small blush crept on her face.

Lowering her head a little bit, she nodded, and then they both started walking in the direction. There was no exchange of words anymore until they arrived from his room."Here it is. Go inside.."

Jennifer lifted her eyes to see a wide door inform her. She pushed it slightly, which opened inside, and saw that it was huge! Even bigger than she had in the villa which was there on the distant island!!

As her eyes traveled to the north side, she noticed there was a big bed in the middle, side tables as always, and night lamps.

Averting her eyes on the opposite side, there was a television on the wall and a fireplace under it. Nearby, there were two sofa sets kept close to either side to take the joy of the lighted fireplace.

But what gained her attention was the balcony outside. Removing the curtains, she slid the door to step outside and saw that it was too huge.

A terrace shorted with all arrangements. Either it is for a barbeque or something else. Not only that, a small space for hanging slides, on which one can sit and read anything...

"So, do you like his room?" A voice entered her ears from behind and subconsciously, she nodded because she was too absorbed in the scenery to inform others.

It not only made her feel freshness but some kind of attachment as if she was ready to live in this place all her life if this was the view that she gets to see.

Seeing her in a daze, made Charles cough slightly to gain her attention towards him, "I'm glad that you liked it. Hopefully, everything is as per your flavors."

"It surely is. The view is amazing here." Was her reply but Charles only noted that she was happy she looked. 'Who can say that she is nothing but a mere hostage here?'

The kind of treatment his brother gave her was an exception, to begin with. "Ms. Jennifer, do you know that Javier rarely shows up at his own house?"

The same made her kind of alert, "Hmm?" Signaling him to continue, Charles added further.

"Moreover, this would be the very first time that he showed up to this villa after two years. Quite amazed that you were able to break his stubbornness, against the hatred he has for his family members."
