Chapter 341 - Ask And Offer

A chuckle left out of Shawn's lips when he raised his glass in front of her, "You….are funny…" with this, he took the sip out of his glass without showing any intention of leaving his glass.

Yet, Alice didn't show any attempt to normalize things. Rather, she averted her gaze back to the bartender to ask, "So…can I get my drink now?"

"S-Sure ma'am," he replied when he handed her the glass of whiskey in the glass, keeping it in front of her shelf. Passing him a genuine smile, Alice took the sip to find the taste to be really blending and quite catchy as compared to that one she tasted abroad.

"Seems like wines and drinks here are really unique…" she muttered in between her breaths. Unknown to her, Shawn had already heard what she said to herself.

Lifting his eyes to face her, he saw the lady's features to be defined, with her long wavy hair reaching just below her hip and the earrings for which one could die… she was a beauty that landed from heaven itself.

'C'mon Shawn…you can't think of anyone anymore….after what just happened today…' with this bitter realization that was slapped on his face, he adjusted his head back on his glass.

The sadness lingered around his mind to find himself in the funniest situation he could ever face.

Meanwhile, Alice was relaxingly enjoying the rhythm that was being played behind them, as she continued to take a few sips out of her glass. Yet, from time to time, her glance still averted to see the man beside her, already drowning in drunkenness.

He acted weird, staring at his glass as if he was trying to find answers. 'Such an abnormal behavior…' but on the second note, she wasn't surprised since most of the people react in this way after having drinks.

Her lips were pursed into a straight line to roll her eyes and concentrate on her own mental health. However, this was far from becoming true as the man beside her called her, "Miss.. are you from here?"

Did he call her to miss? Rotating her eyes, her gaze swapped across his clothes to find them wrinkled, "No." she gave a short answer.

"Hmm..your tone says so. Probably from somewhere foreign? Your dressing sense…and…way of… taking...interest in everything…makes it very..obvious..."

"Seems like you are a man who can read everything from one's face, doesn't this so?" she heard a chuckle out of the man's lips when his small smile came into her view. He looked handsome as she noticed with his black hair already messed up.

Shawn lifted his eyes to meet hers, to look straight into the ones, "Girl, you are taking me wrong. I don't like to interact with many people."

"But if I do….they would be really close to me then…." hearing this, Alice can't help but feel a slight current that went through her entire body.

She broke eye contact before anything could have happened and she took a sip of her wine in an orderly manner, trying to avoid the flirtatious behavior of the man beside her. But as she felt him straight away gazing at her so openly, she finally decided to ask.

"A man like you, alone in the bar and empty bottles after bottles, heartbroken?" her eyebrows raised as she asked with much confidence in her voice.

As expected, he didn't answer the question. Neither did his expressions change but she surely noted how his breath doubled. "Something like this…"

"I can already see. A girl making a man as you drink to no end. Well, have a good night then." with this, Alice picked her bag with her before she passed the man a wink.

Turning around, she made her way to the exit door where she felt the man's gaze still stagnant at her. Nevertheless, she didn't turn around even once.

Yet, Shawn was on the verge of conflicts that arose in his mind. The girl was nice, she had outspoken behavior where it was hard to even hate someone like her. Was it this pure coincidence to meet someone like her?

He wasn't sure but the few exchanges of talks with her already improved his state where he felt heartbroken after his girlfriend and he had the issue today…

His grip tightened around his glass where his black eyes were still seeing the door from where the lady vanished into the thin air. But then, the bartender spoke, "Sir… If you want to try things out, go after her."

"But maybe…this was a probably chance….." Shawn muttered with his eyes sparkling when the bartender laughed to encourage him, "Sometimes, these kinds of encounters result in something which is formed forever, sir. Chance is yours, so is time."

The last statement made Shawn gulp the entire beer in his glass when he immediately rushed to the door to find the presence of the lady. His eyes roam through all the doors, all places whether it is the dancing stage or any other bar.

But as per his instincts, he followed her to the outside of the bar where he saw the line of the people standing and the coldness already rising. Yet this never hindered his process to search for the lady…who was no less than a fairy in his eyes.

Instead of going in the wrong direction, he looked at the guard before he asked him, "Did you see a girl..wearing a leather jacket going somewhere?" the guard looked shocked to see their boss's son in this manner when he nodded, "Yes sir…she went left…from the building.."

Without wasting the time, Shawn rushed to the left of the buildings on the streets to find all the shops already shut since it was very late.

Luckily, his sight caught the lady standing there with her mind already going through things. She waited there with her handbag as she rubbed her hands together to get some warmness.

"FAIRY LADY!" Shawn shouted at the top of his lungs to gain her attention when the lady turned in his direction to find him already out of the bar.

A twist was formed on her forehead as she felt his presence at a certain distance away from her, 'What is he doing here now…?'

She was all clueless but then, he walked closer to her at the lightning speed as if he was in a hurry and feared losing her track. She could see him already out of his breath for her, but still, it never gave her hints. "Yes?"

"I…I have something….to ask…and offer…"
