1093 The Glory of Being the Main Tank

On the third stage, Sea Breaker, who had been in an awkward position this whole time was finally put to use. Azure Sea Breeze was concentrating on staying alive and tanking the Boss, so he had no time to deal with the summoned mobs that were running rampant around the map.

Sea Breaker became the hero that they needed.

When the smaller mobs aggroed onto one of the players, they would run towards Sea Breaker for him to take the aggro away with Consecration.

Green Flag Wine could help too since he was a Paladin. Paladins, like Druids, were all-rounders and very versatile in switching from Tank to Healer to DPS.

"There're so many small mobs," Elevenless sighed in frustration.

He was mainly a PVP player and very rarely joined in on PVE events, unless it was for a First Clear or a dungeon. He couldn't stand having to be extremely cautious all the time and hated the often-disastrous consequences of making small mistakes.

Fighting other players was a different story – all he needed to do was to deal damage and kill them as fast as he could.

"Has anyone of you noticed that the monsters are getting stronger and stronger?" Lu Li asked. He wanted to wait until someone else pointed it out to him since these all-star players were supposed to be very aware.

Unfortunately, he was the only person that noticed this.

Compared to the monsters that were summoned at the start, these ones had higher attack and were gradually increasing in strength.

"Uh, I thought that was normal," Elevenless said awkwardly. "Even if their attacks are getting stronger, they still can't kill us. I can still kill them in three shots, so they're not really bothering us much."

The others felt the same; this wasn't making things difficult for them.

The monsters had low HP and Defense, which meant each wave was wiped out almost instantaneously.

After a few more minutes and wiping out more than 10 waves of smaller mobs, Lu Li laughed coldly and asked, "Now do you think they can kill you?"

Elevenless' expression had changed; he was starting to feel overwhelmed.

The pressure on the healers had greatly increased as well. Nobody expected the harmless mobs to be so powerful after only a few minutes.

"Okay, from now on, ignore the small mobs. Sea Breaker, your job is to draw the small mobs into the corner. Wendelian, make sure you keep your eyes on Sea Breaker's HP. Elevenless and Green Flag Wine, you're in charge of dealing with the ones that Sea Breaker can't aggro, but try your best not to kill them. Wendelian, watch all three of their HP. Got it?" Lu Li instructed.

Wendelian hesitated for a second but nodded in response.

"No problem."

"Older Sister Maple, next time the Boss summons new mobs, don't let them get close to the Boss. We'll focus on attacking the Boss for now."

Lu Li had an idea how to defeat this Boss and commanded his fellow all-stars accordingly. He had faced similar Bosses in other dungeons besides the Blackrock Depths in his past life.

If killing the monsters meant that they were going to become stronger, then the smartest choice would be to divert their attention and focus on the Boss instead.

There was another reason why Lu Li wanted the small mobs to be taken away from the Boss. Besides the fact that this opened up space for the other players, the small mobs also increased the Boss' Attack power and Health Regen.

Lu Li's commands weren't anything out of the ordinary and no one would suspect that he knew about this from his past life.

After the small mobs were pulled away, the Boss seemed to become angry and immediately casted a chain of spells.

Enrage, Sunder Armor, Flurry!

Enrage: General Angerforge will become Enraged when melee classes deal critical damage. While Enraged, General Angerforge's physical damage dealt is increased by 50%, and his Attack speed is increased by 30%. Lasts for 5 seconds.

Sunder Armor: General Angerforge hacks at an enemy's Armor, increasing their physical damage taken. Lasts for 20 seconds.

Flurry: Increases melee physical damage dealt by 30% every time General Angerforge deals critical damage to an enemy. Stacks up to 5 times, lasts for 15 seconds.

Azure Sea Breeze was already struggling to tank and he was barely holding on after the chain attack.

"Godammit, don't die on me. Stay alive!"

Lu Li watched as Azure Sea Breeze's HP fluctuate rapidly and felt his heart thumping. He suspected that this would be one of the first of many chain attacks, but there nothing he could do except to pray that Azure stayed alive.

Azure Sea Breeze stopped messing around and his expression became very serious.

He had all kinds of defensive and damage reduction skills up his sleeve. However, he had to be smart about using them because if he used them too often, there could be a window where everything was on cooldown. On the other hand, if he was too stingy with his skills, he wouldn't be strong enough to tank the Boss. In these types of situations, Azure Sea Breeze always proved himself worthy of having the title of the Number One Main Tank in the game. The other star players were wondering whether it was possible to poach him from Ruling Sword.

Sorrowless couldn't help but wonder if he would be a better commander than Lu Li if he had a Main Tank like Azure Sea Breeze in his own guild.

However, Azure had been with Lu Li from the very start of the game. Sorrowless wouldn't even bother to try and poach him from Ruling Sword.

After a few more chain attacks, he narrowly held on as the Boss' went into critical HP. Now all they could do was hope that the Boss wouldn't become Enraged again. An Enraged General Angerforge might be enough to completely wipe out the star-studded team.

The first reason was that as a Berserker with two one-handed axes, even Azure Sea Breeze would find it difficult to stay alive if Angerforge attacked.

The second reason was the awkward predicament that they were in.

Besides the Boss, there were some very powerful small mobs that were still being pulled to the corners of the room. If the Boss were to become Enraged right now, it would be troublesome for them to deal with both sides at once.

"If we can't do it this time, there's always a second chance. Don't put so much pressure on yourselves," Unforgettable Maple said, trying to calm everyone down.

"Yeah, next time we'll ignore the small monsters and just focus on murdering the Boss. I can tank the first wave of small mobs by myself easily," Elevenless suggested.

Lu Li wanted to correct them but couldn't be bothered. Did they really think that the developers of the game would be that stupid?

If this really was what Elevenless thought, Lu Li would have stopped them from killing the small mobs from the very beginning. However, he knew that if they didn't kill a few waves of monsters, the attack power of the Boss would increase significantly.

This was because the small mobs were able to cast Invigorate continuously, which gave Angerforge an Attack bonus.

If they never killed the small mobs, who knew how much more powerful he would be right now?
