1048 Another Dark Moon Card

The mercenary group found themselves miserably surrounded by a large group of players.

They were stronger than them and came in greater numbers!

As for those who tried to rush to Lu Li by force, they were caught and stopped by him one by one. Eventually, they began to give up all hope and scattered away.

The formation broke and most of the members were chased down and slaughtered, besides the few Thieves and Druids who had managed to escape during the confusion.

Death wasn't just the end – Square Root 3 also had these scenes made into videos and posted them on the forums.

Although there were some who accused Ruling Sword for killing the innocent, the normal players were still frightened. There were hundreds of players who had died within a minute.

Their target, Lu Li, did nothing but watch from the side.

This meant that others who wanted to target Lu Li really had to assess their strength and make sure to not repeat the mistake. This tactic was very useful; no one attempted to kill Lu Li after.

The next day, Lu Li was quickly summoned.

There were only three NPCs who could summon him – Garona, Carolina and Remulos. The environment of the Moonlight Forest immediately gave Lu Li an idea of who it was.

Remulos!

Lu Li was confused as to why he was summoned; Remulos usually wouldn't summon him unless it was important.

After the third war when the Eternal Well had been destroyed, the Dark Elves were blessed by Elune and built a home for the Druids in this place. The Moonlight Forest once again became the safe zone for the Elves. The Dark Elves who didn't move to Teldrassil stayed in the Moonlight Forest, which was surrounded by ancient trees and had almost no connection to the outside world.

However, for the players, this wasn't a paradise.

Most who came to try and activate a quest received nothing, including the Druids.

As such, the gathering spot in this map for players wasn't popular at all. Lu Li fixed his equipment and headed to the Temple of Remulos, which was formed by a few large trees.

"You're here, my friend," Remulos greeted Lu Li as he laid lazily in the grass.

"You've summoned me to the Moonlight Forest. What is it that you ask?" Lu Li asked as he bowed respectfully. This was a Demigod that he was talking to and was worthy of his respect.

"Hehe, it has been a while since we've met. You've become stronger," Remulos commented with a smile. He could see the stats of Lu Li with one glance. Everything became invisible before true strength, except for Lu Li's Supreme Ring.

Lu Li was the only one who confused him; he still couldn't understand why Lu Li could wear Illidan's Ring.

"Just got lucky," Lu Li said humbly.

"Do you remember the things I've told you last time?" Remulos asked.

"Last time?" Lu Li was too busy; he had forgotten completely about the last conversation they had.

"It's about the Warchief of the Horde, Thrall. I could feel from the strength of time that a threat was approaching, until I saw you," Remulos' said as his face brightened. "The strength of adventures always improves faster than I expect."

"I've always been thinking, why don't you just send out some guardians?" Lu Li asked. He suspected that the NPC had dug a hole and was waiting for him to jump in.

"Eh..." An awkward expression appeared on Remulos' face as he shook his head and said, "I won't hide anything from you – the magic circle that Nozdormu had set up was not entirely complete. It might cause the death of those who teleport with it."

Lu Li was certain this wasn't true. "That's impossible. In terms of time magic, no one is better than Nozdormu. If he can't send a group of people to another time and space, I can't possibly imagine any of your opponents being able to do the same."

"Of course. They aren't more skilled than Nozdormu, but they don't value life itself at all," Remulos said hatefully.

The Lord of Time, Nozdormu, teleported people back, but at least half of them would die. However, things weres worse for their opponents, who only had about a 10% survival rate. The difference was that they didn't want to sacrifice their own, but their opponents were willing to send out a great number.

Remulos and his allies had been prepared to sacrifice some of their own to complete this mission.

It was only then when they figured out that adventurers couldn't die and were happy to help NPCs complete risky quests.

Lu Li quickly figured out that they planned to use players as cannon fodder. As for the undying part, players didn't die, but they lost experience and equipment too. As soon as Lu Li heard that he might die, he began to find ways to back out.

The other players were right – any equipment on Lu Li was priceless.

He couldn't afford to lose anything!

"Maybe this might change your mind."

Remulos understood that Lu Li had something on his mind holding him back, so he took out an ite and passed it to Lu Li.

Lu Li took one look and couldn't let go anymore; what he was about to say no longer mattered. As long as he had this, he wouldn't be afraid to die anymore. Not to mention, it was only a 50% chance in the first place.

Darkmoon Card: Void (Special): Instant Use. Has a 50% chance of Revive. Upon a successful

Revive, HP and Mana regen increased by 20%, EXP gain increased by -5%-10%. Number of uses

remaining: 4/5. Effective when the item is placed in the backpack. Equipment requirement: Level 10.

Nobody knew better than Lu Li of the value and use of this item.

He had a Darkmoon Card too, but he had given it to his little trainee. While his little trainee really did deserve his respect, he also wanted to impress the Gnome Thief that supported her so that he could obtain the information he wanted.

He didn't expect to receive this reward first, even before he completed the quest.

Even if there were no other rewards, this was still a good trade.

"Sir, can I also recommend a few other masters to complete this quest together? They are definitely the best of the bests," Lu Li asked passionately.

"That would be a little hard. I only have one spot of recommendation," Remulos lamented.
