1602 Mysterious Thief

"Don't be stupid; just listen to me," Buggy scolded as he slapped Blacky and signalled him to shut up.

Blacky had a silly grin on his face as he faced his younger brothers, as if he had gone back in time to when they were children. Back then, Lu Li was still living with them, and Buggy hadn't broken his friendship with Lu Li.

It was such a good feeling!

"Of course, we can't just distribute it so carelessly, unless you're not afraid of revenge. These are stolen goods. This pile of equipment can never appear on the face of the earth," Lu Li said.

"Then this was all for nothing?" Blacky questioned, clearly dumbfounded.

"Of course not. Those with the maker's label can't be sold in open channels, otherwise, they will be tracked down sooner or later. Thief players, you guys take them for your own use. As for the others, find a time to sell them to Shen Wansan. Then, he'll sell it to us. We've given him a bargain to just gain the handling fee and price difference for nothing," Lu Li explained. He had already planned this out.

The Transmog set, along some other equipment or tools, would all have left a mark of the maker's name or symbol.

This would easily attract the attention of Glory Capital. If these equips were all worn by the people of Ruling Sword, Sorrowless would be wary of Lu Li plotting against him.

In the face of power, evidence was not necessarily required, but suspicion was enough.

"Good idea," Blacky agreed.

He was the type that dared to kill and fight but did not like using his brain. As long as Lu Li got Buggy to create a plan, he would only be in charge of carrying it out.

"No worries man. Even if Glory Capital discovered that we did it, we won't get you guys at Ruling Sword involved," Buggy promised Lu Li. He also knew that at the present moment, there was an undeniable gap between Ruling Sword's and Glory Capital's abilities.

The fact that Ruling Sword achieved a First Clear easily gave people the wrong impression that they were supressing Glory Capital.

In reality, Ruling Sword wasn't even close to getting the First Clear for any Wild Boss. Once they encountered these elite clubs in the Wild, Ruling Sword could only retreat to avoid suffering any losses.

Glory Capital also showed a growing momentum to suppress Ruling Sword, while Sorrowless seemed to face up to Lu Li as a potential rival.

Glory Capital would always appear whenever they heard that Ruling Sword was fighting a Wild Boss. This forced Ruling Sword with no other option but to retreat. Sometimes it would be when it was almost finished, which wasted a lot of manpower and material resources for nothing.

This was also the reason why Lu Li was calculating his opponent without any mercy.

Otherwise, why would Lu Li go and provoke an opponent that he wouldn't provoke for any other reason? Plus, he was entrapping them to the extent where the whole club would fall into upmost gloom.

Large clubs like Glory Capital also inevitably organized teams of scouts. If you were far-sighted, a smaller guild of around 100 people could do this. After all, everyone had to have a dream, just in case it did come true.

They didn't know what exactly happened, but they could figure out some things from traces of the whole story.

The club's core elite group, along with four elite groups and 500 or so people went to do this quest. Eventually, they returned, but even those on the levels of Blood Dagger and White Westhill were killed.

What made these scouts rack their brains even more was the fact that none of the players' equipment could be brought back.

Then, they discovered a group of Thieves.

The sequence of events had quickly become apparent. A 400-person team undertook the quest and was destroyed. At this time, a group of Thieves appeared and took away all the equipment while getting rid of Blood Dagger along the way.

If this group of Thieves didn't exist, and if not for Blood Dagger's death, then this operation was not worth being surprised about. Dawn was a game with a high mortality rate after all. A majority of players had to die a few times a day.

The problem was precisely with this group of Thieves.

Where did they suddenly come from? How did they kill Blood Dagger? Who the heck were they?!

"Boss, it's probably not a good idea to just let this news out. The atmosphere within the guild is not great."

City Smoke did not quite understand Sorrowless' decisiveness.

"A loss is a loss. There's no point covering it up," Sorrowless said with a cool expression. "This group of Thieves is the key to this whole thing. Find them, then the truth will come to light."

"Did you want to use all the major guilds to help us find them?" City Smoke asked.

"Yes. These Thieves couldn't have come out of nowhere and they can't just disappear after doing this once. All groups have their own style in doing things. As long as everyone knows this, then their true colours will show sooner or later. By then, the truth will be revealed." Sorrowless usually wouldn't explain so much. City Smoke's guilt felt even deeper and he was more committed at the same time.

The damages were massive this time and the Boss didn't even hold him accountable.

"That guy called Whinging Hollow is a real talent. Didn't you promise him two Epic equips after the quest? Go pick him two in the warehouse later," Sorrowless added.

"But he didn't finish his quest."

City Smoke still felt resentment towards him. If not for Whinging Hollow, then things wouldn't have gotten to this point.

"He completed his end of the bargain; he did everything that he was supposed to. It was us who couldn't defeat Rexxar. That makes it our fault. Why wouldn't we give him a quest reward?" Sorrowless said with a 'matter of fact' expression on his face.

City Smoke could only keep saying yes. Perhaps this was Sorrowless' personality charm.

Lu Li had now left the headquarters that Buggy and the others met in. He was rotating two gems in his hands; he often used this method to exercise the flexibility of his fingers.

One of the gems evidently belonged to White Westhill. While it was rare, there weren't any marks or symbols on it, so there were no worries with regards to people identifying it.

White Westhill was also rather unlucky to have given up his superb gem as soon as he got it.

But, in fact, this type of outcome was alright for him. At least he didn't have to worry about better things being taken. Blood Dagger ad dropped a T2 bracer which had the maker's name on it. Lu Li had already given it to Buggy and the others to deal with it.

It was better to be safe than sorry. He had wandered around in this dark world from a very young age and understood the laws of survival.

This huge entrapment had gone flawlessly, at least up to now.

It was a shame that Sorrowless hadn't led the team himself.

Scheming felt so relieving; it was well-suited to Lu Li' personal style. However, he was a hot-blooded young man. How could he not envy that kind of iron-handed bloodshed? Unfortunately, his abilities at the moment were too far from it. He still had to lie dormant for a while longer.
