Chapter 83 - Another Battle

Chapter 83: Another Battle

Time flew by, and another six hours passed. Aakesh got no new customers during these six hours, while Maria spawned around every five minutes during these past six hours. She also returned back to the world of Panagea right away without disturbing Aakesh.

She was in a battle with raiders and was in an unfortunate situation when her six hours passed. She then got forced out of Panagea and spawned in the store. She heaved a sigh of relief after she got saved from her death.

Aakesh had also opened his eyes as the dawn had already started arriving, and it was time for closing the store.

"Who did you have to defeat as your first quest?" Aakesh asked after Maria spawned in the store after her six hours ended.

"Human raiders attacked the town, and I had to save as many civilians as possible until the end of the raid," Maria responded with a slight tremble in her voice as the scenes of pillaging, raping, torturing by the raiders were still ingrained in her mind.

"Okay! Do you want anything more?" He expressionlessly asked as it was time for him to close the store.

"No! I would come back tomorrow, senior," Maria responded as she understood the context of Aakesh's question. She slightly bowed toward him, turned around, and left the store.

After Maria left the store, Aakesh closed the door of the store. "6 days and 19 more customers to go," He murmured as he brought out the quest screen.

Four days have already passed since the store opened in Kakot, and today was the busiest day in terms of sales. Today the store earned more than 1800 ordinary Primal stones and more than 1000 inferior Primal stones. He gained 1% of the total sales, which didn't matter much to him as he already had 5000 ordinary Primal stones after selling a space ring to Maria, but seeing the sales grow made him happy as only when the sales will grow, the store would grow. And with the store growing, he would be closer to knowing the truth about him.

Lily still didn't come down, so it meant she was still asleep. He went to his room and woke her up. He then took her to the selection ground with him.

Lily still wanted to sleep, but seeing the stern look in his eyes, she stopped struggling and begrudgingly went to her training ground. Aakesh then picked out his bow from the weapon shelf and selected the training ground.

The next moment, he appeared in the training ground in the midst of cheers. A blue window appeared in front of him with three options. He chose to fight the second round.

The shouting stopped when Aakesh appeared in the battle arena as the crowd still remembered yesterday's battle between him and the opponent when he used a sword. No one even dared to boo seeing Aakesh.

"What happened, losers? Are you afraid of me?" Aakesh asked with a smile, seeing the crowd silently staring at him with hints of fear in their eyes.

The crowd stayed silent in response and waited for the opponent to come. The next moment, the opponent arrived in the battle arena with an expressionless face. He didn't even look at Aakesh and took his position, Aakesh also took his position, ready to shoot in a blink.

The bell then loudly rang and announced the start of the battle. "Clang!" The next moment, the sound of metal clashing echoed throughout the battle arena as Aakesh shot an arrow directly at his leg, predicting his opponent's next move. His prediction proved correct, as the opponent arrived the next moment, swinging his sword at Aakesh's head, but Aakesh didn't even have to dodge as his arrow obstructed the movement of the sword, and it missed him.

Aakesh moved two steps backward right away as a hand came to grab his head, but he successfully dodged the hand. He shot another arrow, aiming at the leg of the opponent to stop his quick movement, but the opponent easily dodged the attack by a casual swing of his sword.

He shot arrow after arrow after that as he moved backward while his opponent chased him. Until now, Aakesh had been at the defeating end. The next moment, he stopped and activated a skill inbuilt in the weapon. With every shot, the weight of the arrow started increasing, which slowed his opponent's move.

Suddenly the air in the arena turned cold, as a projection of a sword appeared above the opponent's head. The next moment, with an unimaginable speed, the sword fell on Aakesh's head.

He activated the skill 'Counter Shield' right away to defend himself, but the sword cut his shield like a knife cutting through butter and successfully struck him down, splitting him in two. He faced the same defeat he had inflicted on his opponent yesterday.

The next moment, Aakesh reappeared in the battle arena. "So, this is the move you gained in this round?" He asked his opponent. With every round, the opponent and Aakesh would gain a skill. The sky of arrows he used in the first round was the skill he gained in the first round, and he could increase the weight of his arrows in the second round.

The opponent nodded with a cold look and left the battle arena. He also then left the battle arena as he faced another defeat using a bow, but today was a good battle for him.

He then reappeared in the selection ground. Since Lily was still in her training, he sat down on the ground in the meditative pose and started thinking about ways to solve the attack as his shield couldn't handle the damage.

Using the skill he gained in the first and second round simultaneously could allow him to slow down the fall as well as reduce the sword's power, and then he can activate the 'Counter Shield' to counter the attack. Whether it would be effective or not, he would find out tomorrow.

He then cleared his mind and waited for Lily to come. He thought of taking her with him to Panagea. He would let her live in wildlife in Panagea and do whatever she wanted. After several minutes, she appeared in the selection ground. She then told him about what happened in training. After they both returned to the store, he took her to the virtual portal room, and they both entered it.
