Chapter 40 - Tuantuan and the 'Kidnapper” Uncle (3)

Down the hill, most of the crew members were setting up their camps.

A black sedan was parked right behind Lin Yueqi’s van.

A man was seated on the driver’s seat with his iPad fixed on the steering wheel, playing the stream. He teased, “Old Lu, wasn’t your girlfriend’s past a little too miserable? But speaking of which, your Qiqi is a funny one in the entertainment circle, isn’t she? She’s got no background and refused to follow the rules. Pretty interesting. Though I finally understand why she’s been keeping her body pure for so many years. I think she was waiting for you.”

Lu Ting who was sitting next to him had on a frown filled with mixed emotions.

Back when the two majors got together for an outing two years ago, the others had persuaded Lin Yueqi to drink and she got drunk with just two drinks. She bumped into him in the toilet and vomited all over him.

When he was about to leave the karaoke bar, he overheard a discussion amongst two of his male classmates from his major and found out that the girl had been drugged. Lin Yueqi was A University’s school goddess, and unlike the usual fair wealthy beauties, she was a hardworking and diligent girl. The two had several dramatic encounters during their school days.

Back then, the young Lu Ting was extremely fond of this girl.

He couldn’t just sit aside and not help the girl he fancied, so he brought the girl to a hotel. Unexpectedly, she wrapped herself around him like a snake after they got into the room and wouldn’t budge no matter what.

He also had a lot to drink that night so his reason was shattered. With a bit of reluctance, they ended up coming together that night.

Lu Ting wanted to take responsibility for the girl, but she quietly put on her clothes and left with her heels in hand the next morning. Lu Ting tried to call her after that so they could talk about getting together.

But his tone didn’t sound like he was a guy trying to get with a girl at all. He almost sounded as if he was talking business.

This wasn’t the type of romance Lin Yueqi imagined, nor did she feel any pink bubbles when she thought about him, and so nothing came of the two.

Unexpectedly, Lin Yueqi got pregnant after a few months but Lu Ting was overseas and they lost contact.

After hearing about the incident between him and Lin Yueqi, Li Xing threw his head back in laughter, “Boss Lu, if I were her, then I wouldn’t want you to be my boyfriend either. Who the hell chases after girls like that?”

Lu Ting was sitting straight in his seat and did not speak. After a quiet sigh, he patted his knees, saying, “Look, I’m from a small family. Nobody ever taught me how to chase after a girl.”

Li Xing looked at him as if he were a fool. “You think people need to be thought for that sort of thing? What, you’ve never eaten pork? Never seen a pig run? What a damn shame of that face of yours.”

While the two talked, a chubby little girl jumped down from the van in front of them.

The fat little girl quickly crept over to the tent and asked for a bowl of cooked instant noodles, then, she hid behind the tree like a little thief.

Picking up some of the noodles with her fork, she puffed up her cheeks and blew hard until it was cold before putting it in her mouth.

After taking two bites, she went over to look at the van, worried that someone would notice.

Tuantuan had just taken a few bites when the black sedan at the side suddenly turned on its lights, and the windows rolled down.

Li Xing rested his arm on the window frame and looked at Tuantuan who was crouching outside the car and sneaking a bite of noodles with a look of amusement on his face. “Hey, chubby girl. Why don’t you come eat in my car? I’ve got air conditioning.”

Tuantuan guarded her noodle bowl vigilantly and frowned. Then, she slowly stood up and said, “Tuantuan’s not getting into your car! You’re definitely a kidnapper! Bleh!”

Li Xing laughed like an unscrupulous businessman and said bitterly, “Hehe, how can uncle be a kidnapper? I’m too handsome from that, aren’t I?”

Tuantuan took another bite of her noodles and guarded her bowl even more vigilantly, her eyebrows furrowing even more.
