Chapter 896: Unprecedented

"Whether I like it or not, huh?"

Hao Xuan calmly repeated Dai Zhi's words as he looked at the others around him. They could all hear their conversation but none of them had any reaction to it whatsoever, as if it was the most ordinary thing.

Dima was meekly tucked away to the side while the brawny beauty that was almost double his size could not stop talking to him. Hao Xuan didn't understand what language she was speaking but judging from her demeanor it was easy to tell that she was pretty passionate about the topic.

Xue Meng could not even sit alone by himself anymore. He was cuddling a wine bottle while grumbling something about loosing his "soul match".

Other than Tian Zheng's there were two other spots still vacant albeit not for long.

Hao Xuan picked up the wine bottle and drank it dry. His mind was racing with so many different thoughts that he couldn't even relish its exquisite taste.

*Burp*

He let out a loud burp that made Xue Meng giggle in his delirious state and the brawny girl wince from the other side with a disgusted expression.

"And what if I don't? You know, 'serve you at your feet'. What will happen then?"

Hao Xuan's nonchalant tone of voice left a lot to be desired in Dai Zhi's eyes. His expression hardened.

"Then you will never leave this place."

"Alive, you mean?"

"No, alive or dead, you won't be leaving this place. I will refine your soul and turn your body into my puppet. You will continue to serve me for as long as I care for it. That is the only fate that awaits you if you chose to go against my wishes."

Hao Xuan snickered, "And what makes you think you can keep me here?" releasing a tinge of killing intent that quickly doused the merry mood of the party.

He wasn't joking. He was ready to fight his way out if need be, even if the odds were completely against him.

Soon as the words left Hao Xuan's mouth the music stopped once again. The female servers that were walking about suddenly turned towards Hao Xuan. The whites of their eyes turned dark red and they released their own killing intent to counter his.

Dai Zhi emptied the wine glass but instead of putting it down he abruptly closed his hand and it turned to dust instantly.

"You are in MY house. The moment you stepped in here your life was forfeit. Even if by some miracle you managed to fight against everyone here AND my army outside, the palace would still not let you leave."

A toothy grin slowly crept upon Hao Xuan's face. He had confirmed it just now.

'Another threat. He really doesn't want to fight me. But why?'

Dai Zhi didn't know how strong Hao Xuan was. Hell, even if he thought Hao Xuan was stupendously powerful he could easily take care of him in this place but he continuously tried to make Hao Xuan submit peacefully of his own accord.

This could only mean one of three things.

The first one would be that he thought Hao Xuan was stronger than him, which was almost impossible. In his eyes Hao Xuan was a nobody and with all his training and powers there was no way he would ever believe Hao Xuan could out-do him.

The second reason would be if he COULDN'T fight him for some reason. Maybe the others wouldn't take his side that easily or maybe it was something else.

The third and most likely scenario would be that he was saving himself, so to speak. He considered Hao Xuan to be just a loose end and didn't see the need to make a move himself and risk incurring an injury.

'I doubt it's the first one. That means he is either unwilling or indifferent. Maybe he can't fight because of his ascension? For when he creates the spark? Or maybe he thinks there is someone much more dangerous then me out there.'

Hao Xuan was about to speak up when the sound of footsteps came from behind him followed by a cold, sneering voice.

"How nice must it be to be so utterly ignorant that you do not even know your own place in the world."

Hao Xuan turned his head halfway to see two figures walking through the same door he entered from. The one in the front was a familiar figure gently caressing a black sword attached to his hip.

"Stasa."

He was the third guardian of the Hall and the one who had just spoken. Right behind him was an unfamiliar figure but when Hao Xuan laid his eyes upon him he felt like he had been dipped into a live volcano.

A pair of bright emerald eyes manifested behind him, looking down at Hao Xuan with utter indifference.

Hao Xuan's blood started boiling and he quickly looked away and closed his eyes to try and control his own rampaging bloodline. It was bursting forth with unprecedented might.
